Christopher Eccleston’s interview leads to some interesting questions…

…about what it was exactly it was that made the 9th Doctor decide to leave the series after only one season:

“I was open-minded but I decided after my experience on the first series that I didn’t want to do any more,” he said.

“I didn’t enjoy the environment and the culture that we, the cast and crew, had to work in.

“I thought if I stay in this job, I’m going to have to blind myself to certain things that I thought were wrong.”

Now that is a VERY interesting statement since it directly contradicts Russel Davies interview of last year:

Was Christopher Eccleston always only going to do it for a year?

That was always the plan, and then the plan got fumbled because the newspapers found out about it. Can you imagine what a shock that regeneration would have been if they hadn’t known? We got better at that over the years, found ways to keep other secrets. Nonetheless, Chris Eccleston is just a blazing comet of talent, and we are lucky to have had him for even a short time. I’m so grateful to have had him.

Someone is not telling the truth. And fans would like something a more definite answer:

I’m a tad frustrated by this. A bit like the Katy Perry storm in a bra-cup yesterday, this is only half a story. The whole story would be exposing exactly what Eccleston had a problem with that caused him to quit – and why does this conflict with the reports that he only intended to do one season anyway? Somebody needs to pin him down and get a straight answer.

I think not, I suspect a more definite answer will get him blacklisted.

One of the rules of Saul Alinsky was to make people live by their own rules knowing that they can’t.

Yesterday Pam Geller, a fearless foe of Jihad was informed by PayPal that she is considered a “hate site” and is removing her ability to raise the small amount she does via them.

SIOA and FDI just got notified as well. There are no accidents. I said repeatedly in news stories that the money for the bus ads came from my websites — that there were no large donors. So the global jihad, choking on petrodollars, is trying to shut down my little spigot.

Robert Stacy is properly outraged:

An Associated Press article about Geller last month quoted Faiza Ali, of the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, who accused Geller of a “long-standing history of anti-Muslim bigotry.” Geller said Saturday she is considering pursuing legal action against PayPal’s attempt to attach a “hate” label to her site.

“What do they expect me to do, stop blogging about jihad?” said Geller, whose blog emphasizes national security issues, Mideast policy and the War on Terror. “These are strange times. And they’re going to get stranger still.”

She is on the right track, but she can do one better. There are an awful lot of sites that use paypal including pro-jihad sites. If she can show discrimination (and it won’t be hard) the potential payoff for a company that is linked to eBay is large enough that even liberal lawyers would be anxious to be a part of it.

Alternatively they can publicize each of these sites that get paypal funding and sue paypal for each site that is kept up. Stacy continues on his site about foreign money:

So the Ground Zero mosque people get millions from big-time foundations, plus the United Nations and all kinds of foreign money, and Pamela Geller can’t be permitted to push back with a few thousand bucks raised via PayPal?

I suppose this should be considered a complement that worldwide Jihad inc is afraid of one Jewish American woman, (of course if they ever met Pam in person they would know that this extraordinary woman is not someone you want as a foe). But complement or no this should not be allowed to stand.

When you don’t assimilate people…

But Medina, whose real name is Andrea Fuentealba Valbak, didn’t get to sing more than a few notes before a hail of eggs began to rain down upon the stage. The perpetrators, reports tabloid B.T., were a gang of between 10 and 20 youngsters between the ages of 14 and 17 all ‘with an immigrant background’.

Their reason for attacking the songstress? Apart from taking exception to Medina’s hot pants and sexually suggestive song lyrics, it appears that the gang were provoked by the singer’s stage name which is also coincidentally the name of the second holiest city in Islam and the burial place of the Prophet Mohammed.

With the backing of most of the 3,000 strong audience, Medina ripped into the trouble-makers and told them that their behaviour was disrupting the concert for everyone else. But the strain took its toll, and the pop star ended up leaving the stage in tears.

They are referred to as “youths”, but in the end the Danes who choose not to rock the boat when stuff like this started to happen now better get used to stuff like this, because if something doesn’t change fast Denmark will be just one of many countries living under Islamic law.

And when that happens BTW we won’t have to worry about an Islamic Iran with a bomb, we will have to worry about an Islamic France and England with the bomb.

A few days ago I noted that Andrew Sullivan was making Charles Johnson look like his old self, but now Johnson has managed to grab a little bit of his old mojo back:

The British-based Reuters news agency has been stung for the second time by charges that it edited politically sensitive photos in a way that casts Israel in a bad light. But this time Reuters claims it wasn’t at fault.

The news agency reacted to questions raised by an American blogger who showed that Reuters’ photo service edited out knives and blood traces from pictures taken aboard the activist ship Mavi Marmara during a clash with Israeli commandos last week. Nine people were killed and scores were injured in the clash.

I’m looking at the Memeorandum thread and noticed one common thing few if any mention Johnson.

This isn’t a surprise, I don’t care for Johnson, I don’t like the way he treated my friend Stacy, or Pam or Peg and he has run in my opinion run his site like a cheap dictator, but in the end his position on Israel and his willingness to expose Reuters shows he still has a trace of the old Johnson in him.

Christians in general and Catholics in particular are very much into redemption. I’ve still got a little Pollyanna in me so I’ll include him in my prayers this week. Who knows.
