Who is that guy without the beard?

Sans beard

Just back from the Barber shop today got a haircut and had the beard shaved. My son snapped a shot with his camera phone.

I had actually planned on shaving it Friday evening so I would have a totally different look on the last day to confuse everyone, but thanks to a long but very enjoyable conversation I ended up missing the Metro and instead entered my gonzo period, thus the razor and the shaving cream went untouched.

Of course if you were reading in the Scott Brown Campaign days there were beardless shots of me all over.

Update: Want to weigh in on the beard? There is now a poll

A quick FYI post

People who have known me for years might be aware that one of my abiding faults is being slow on my e-mail, so to all the people who have e-mailed etc, I’m going to ask some indulgence since I have a WHOLE lot more to deal with than usual.

Today I have the cable guy coming to take care of the connection issue upstairs, some stuff for the Planned Parenthood fight to do, a K of C ceremony where my oldest will be joining.

I’m still got some straightening up to do around here and I ended up a little sick once I got home.

I have a lot of CPAC stuff still to go, interviews, photos and some writing that I plan on doing on what I saw and heard.

And of course there are the bills (we are on year 6 of my turn on the 16 year bill cycle) that I have to make sure get taken care of not to mention my search for that elusive $800 a week job, my drop dead date is getting closer.

So there is a lot to do and not really enough of me to do it, but we’ll manage.

I’m back in Fitchburg

There is an awful lot that I’m going to miss from going to CPAC, mostly the people the very fine people that I saw there, the friends that I made that I hope will last a lifetime and God willing can be celebrated again in the future together.

It was a wonderful experience and the best parts of it will become even more wonderful as the compound interest that memory generates takes effect.

But there are compensations to being back home, in my own house, with my own bed (and BOY will I be crashing later) and of course there is the largest compensation of all.

I haven’t even looked at my e-mail but will do my best to catch up as the mundane tasks of life creep to the forefront again.

Fedoras and Cannoli in Virginia

I’ve have arrived at Casa di Smitty which is a rather beautiful home that is very TARDIS like in the sense that it is much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside.

I have unpacked and hope to get to the hotel to register tonight so I can get right into blogging when I get there tomorrow.

As you can see even more important that my safe arrival has been the safe arrival of the Cannoli and the Fedora’s Stacy has already claimed one and Smitty seems to have found a second that is a perfect fit which unfortunately only leaves me with one to loan out during the conference (there are only so many Fedoras you can fit in a suitcase.)

I’m totally ignorant of today’s events and will try to catch up and get some blogging done before I hit the sack tonight. A lot to see and do so I’m going to get cracking.

Update: Now I know what Smitty is doing downstairs. So much for the surprise tomorrow.
