At the main site I have a post up with a summery of the debate but I think it can be better explained in two tweets.

As I noted there are those like Joe Scarborough who are shocked, Shocked that the Democrats are arguing how bad the Obama years were on stage.

But consider, if the Obama years had been good, if they had been prosperous, if they had advanced the future of Americans everywhere, then Hillary Clinton would have won 35 to forty states without blinking an eye.

the truth is Barack Obama won re-election for two reasons.

1. The GOP ran the worst possible candidate against him in 2012 (Mitt Romney)

2. Black Americans turned out in droves because even they could not bear the thought of the 1st black president losing re-election because he sucked so bad.

Every single democrat on that stage knows this.

I’m starting to figure out why Snoops is going after the Babylon Bee, I read my wife the two headlines from this post at Instapundit and asked her to guess which is the parody and which is the real one

She guessed wrong, and remember in my opinion she was, other than Donald Trump of course,  the biggest winner in the Debates this week.

 

Yesterday was Baseball’s trading deadline and there were a bunch of blockbuster trades made, particularly by Houston that bolstered an already impressive pitching staff.

The Red Sox on the other hand took my advice and did nothing.

While sports radio was screaming bloody murder they also quoted a stat that to me explained why any such deadline deal was stupid.  The Red Sox are 8-14 when their ace Chris Sale (5-10) starts,  9-11 when David Price (7-4) starts and 13-9 when Rick Porcello (9-8) starts this season.

With those numbers anyone who thinks for one minute a last minute one sided deal to add a bullpen arm is going to allow those three guys to lead them to another title this year is delusional.  Much better to see if their incredible offense can carry them, put it down to a bad year for the pitchers (everyone has them occasionally) and shore up the bullpen in the off season where they can get much more bang for the buck without dismantling the team.

That’s what a GM who recognizes his job is to give his team their best shot to win each year does as opposed to keeping loud voices on the radio happy.

 

Finally here is an update on the blog situation.

You’ll notice that there IS some new posts going up on the old site, a few were scheduled posts but some are new.  I’ve found a work around that allows me to post there but I can’t put in any links, add images or even embed tweets, it’s plain text only.

So here is the plan.  While I price my alternatives (likely between $500-$1000 up front at least) to preserve the old blog at an alternate location without taking a week off from work to do it I’ll be posting at both sites. Anything that needs linkage I’ll put here.  If I can get away with just text then it will go there, and perhaps I’ll kill a photo or two from my gallery to free up some space for an image or two.

As I recently did a direct non-public fundraiser  (that fell far short of my goal but did pay for pintastic coverage and provide a cushion thanks all) I’m not really in a position to do it again just a few months later, but if anyone wants to kick in to help pay for this stuff.  Datipjar on both sites DOES work.

As for my writers they can either post there sans links and graphics or post here during the transition or if they want they can take a few days off and wait for everything to work again.  I’ll leave it entirely up to them..

The Red Sox and Seattle Prove Why Baseball is THE Best Sport AGAIN

If you turned in early to the Red Sox Seattle game you saw a lot of offense.

You saw the Mariners put up 4 in the top of the first and the Red Sox answer with five. Then Mariners put up six more meaning that Red Sox starter Stephen Wright, who had given up a single run in his last game against the very same team, had given up 10 earned runs before the book was closed on him, Nelson Cruz with two 3 run HR’s and a single to drive in seven on those 10 doing most of the damage.

It didn’t stay that way.

The same Seattle pitcher Wade Leblanc who had shut out the Red Sox in that same game against Wright would give up one in the fifth. J. D Martinez would hit a 2 Home run in a 3 run Red Sox 6th and then a key single in a five run seventh with the bases loaded and then three in the 6th and then in the seventh went on a tear to score five more.

As I’m writing this the score is 14-10 with one out in the bottom of the 8th, now the top of the ninth. Seattle is coming to the plate and while it looks very good for the Rox Sox they will still have to get those three final outs before Seattle scores 4 to get that win.

And that is why Baseball is better than Basketball, Hockey, Football or Soccer and it isn’t even close.

No matter how big a lead you have you still have to get those outs before you can celebrate, and no matter how bleak it looks, you team will still have a chance to score as many runs as you can before that third out is recorded.

No Clocks, no taking a knee, no pulling a goalie, no LeBron sitting down because he knows its hopeless. As long as you still have a single out yet to be given your team is not done.

That’s baseball and that’s why it’s the best.

Oh and the Sox won 14-10

Boston College advances DaTechGuy on DaRadio Retreats

College basketball fans in Massachusetts following the NIT tournament were delighted when Boston College the #1 seed advanced winning their first round game 82-64 over McNeese State.

That victory moves them to a 2nd round game against the 4th Seed Northwestern tomorrow at 11 a.m.

Which puts them right on top of my 2nd hour. Meaning that DaTechGuy on DaRadio will be a cut down version running from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. tomorrow, with my guest Susannah Fleetwood editor of The Minority Report and blogger extraordinaire.

We will be talking about The Minority Report, Libya, Israel and if we can fit it in the Wisconsin Ruling.

Make sure your station is tuned to WCRN all morning tomorrow and EVERY saturday starting at 6 a.m. as we bring you the best of conservative talk The Wesley & Weston Review ( 6 a.m.) Conservatively Speaking ( 7 a.m.) , Carol Ann Brown ( 9 a.m. ) and DaTechGuy on DaRadio (10 a.m.) followed by BC Basketball!

Da Red Sox after DaTechGuy on DaRadio

If you are one of the people I’ve visited door to door and you are wondering if you should advertise on DaTechGuy on DaRadio here is a bit of news that should help your decision.

I was down at the station to record some ads and just got the word that WCRN is picking up the Red Sox this year.

If you are familiar with baseball you will know that Red Sox home games on Saturday are usually at 1 p.m with the pregame starting at 12:30.

So not only will you be buying time on the station that carries THE New England Sports institution but Your ads will be there on a show leading into the Red Sox.

If that’s not a reason to sign up or renew for 13 weeks I’d like to know what is? Rates are here.
