Well the 161 of the 162 games of my 1970 league turned out to be fatal to my playoff hopes as Bob Miller gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th in relief and while I managed to score a pair and load the bases with the tying run on 3rd and the go ahead run on 2nd Tommy Harper who had driven in over 100 runs for me that season couldn’t manage a hit or walk against rookie pitcher Bert Blyleven and thus the Twins go on to the wild card game and I ended my season one win away from a playoff berth.

It’s the 2nd year in a row were I ended up just short of a goal with the tying and go ahead runs on base and a big hitter of mine up. I had two men on with no men out in the last of the 9th of game seven of the world series when Bobby Tolan outran a Pete Rose’s drive over his head for the 1st out and Steve Carlton coaxed a double play from Tommie Agee to end the series.

Rest assured no parts of my neighborhood ended up burning over this defeat. After all there is always the 1971 season.

Apparently Bill Gates is once again talking about how much better things would be if there were less people.

Have you ever notice that the people who keep saying this always think it would be better if other people weren’t alive instead of them?

As a Catholic I can’t and won’t advise this but I’m sure there are plenty of people looking at Gates and company and saying: “You first”

Am I the only person who finds it Ironic that while the nation’s most famous socialist owns 3 homes the nation’s most famous capitalist owns none

Early this year, Musk said in an interview with the non-profit organization TED  that he no longer owns a home and instead stays at friends’ houses.

My first thought was “where do you keep your stuff?” but if you’re one of the top 5 richest people in the world you don’t need stuff since anything you want is pretty much a phone call away.

Still very ironic.

Croatia apparently edged Morocco in the 3rd place game at the world cup.

Both teams have been bun to watch and would have been worthy teams for the final but was not to be.

Morocco advanced farther than any other Arab or African team in history I suspect non of those players will ever be able to buy a drink in an Arab country again.

But given that booze is illegal in many Muslim states that might have been the case anyways.

It’s now Saturday the 17th 8 days before Christmas and Amazon tells me that even with free prime delivery the items I wanted would not make it here by Christmas.

This is the week when retailers have the chance to take advantage of the fact that people buying items in the store can take them home with them and perhaps salvage a bit of business from this explosive Biden economy, at least explosive in the sense that the ability of Americans to afford to spend has been taken out as it hit by saturation bombing.

Well I guess we have the economy we deserve.

Virginia finally bans TikTok

Sheesh, it took him long enough, but at least it finally happened. Governor Youngkin announced late last night that TikTok and WeChat are banned on state devices:

“TikTok and WeChat data are a channel to the Chinese Communist Party, and their continued presence represents a threat to national security, the intelligence community, and the personal privacy of every single American,” Youngkin said. “We are taking this step today to secure state government devices and wireless networks from the threat of infiltration and ensure that we safeguard the data and cybersecurity of state government.”

This follows highly publicized bans of a similar nature by many other governors. WAVY-10 is relatively left-leaning, so I’m not surprised that they pointed out “Republican governors” in the article, but at least they showed Mark Warner’s agreement with Governor Youngkin.

My kids routinely keep me informed on the social media use of their peers, and TikTok is still quite common. No huge surprise, what America sees on TikTok vs what China sees is strikingly different:

I have plenty of people saying we need to be on TikTok in order to reach our kids. For normal social media, that would be true. If you let your kids go on Facebook, you should be on Facebook. Same with Instagram, or SnapChat, or whatever else. However, TikTok isn’t fair. Not that any social media is, but TikTok has the weight of a nation four times our size whose government hates our guts and wants us dead. Do you really think anything good will come of you or your family members being on there?

Would you accompany your son to a strip joint in order to “meet them where they are at?” What about your daughter? That’s essentially what you do by allowing them on TikTok. Not only that, but you directly expose yourself and your data to Chinese foreign agents. None of that is good. Stay off TikTok, and if you can, ban it on your home network as well.

If It Wasn’t For Double Standards…

Captain Darling: So you see, Blackadder, Field Marshal Haig is most anxious to eliminate all these German spies.

General Melchett: Filthy Hun weasels fighting their dirty underhand war!

Darling: And, fortunately, one of *our* spies–

General Melchett: Splendid fellows, brave heroes, risking life and limb for Blighty!

Blackadder goes forth General Hospital 1989

You might have noticed that despite my best efforts to remind him

Elon Musk’s team has yet to restore the @RSMCCAIN twitter account as one of those conservatives set free from Twitter prison.

On the plus side for Stacy he now has quite a bit of company from Insty:

● Cue lefty meltdown while people guess why Twitter suspended Aaron Rupar. (Permanently?)

● Well DAMN! Many OTHER lefty accounts (including Keith Olbermann) have been suspended.

● Huge Suspension Drops on Twitter, Liberal Meltdown in Progress.

It appears these journalists decided to dox Musk’s location and that someone attempted to harm his son and Suddenly the left has decided that free speech is paramount.

My reaction to the sudden outrage on violation of speech by companies like CNN is pretty much the same as Ellen Carmichael’s

But I think the real source of their outrage is this response by Musk:

Oh the horror!

So for now Stacy has plenty of company from the professional left, my only objection will be if these accounts are restored before his is.

It has been many decades since actual civics was taught is schools here in the United States.  Instead, school students were taught social studies, which is nothing more than a watered-down Marxist indoctrination scheme.  This was done to make Americans far more malleable.  If Americans are ignorant about the true nature of the United States Constitution, it is far easier to strip away their rights, and we are way less likely to stand up against a tyrannical government.  Today American students are taught a more insidious and despicable form of indoctrination.

Here are four Constitutional truths that have been erased so completely from school curriculums that even many conservatives are confused about.

1. Just because some individuals may “abuse” a right, it is absolutely wrong to strip that right away from everyone else.

At all levels, individuals are constantly prevented from doing things that they have every right to do.  The rational for this trampling of everyone’s rights is the claim that certain individuals may, or may not, do something wrong, or harmful, with a particular right.  That is a form of collective guilt.

Our constitutional system is founded on individual guilt.  Collective guilt goes against everything our nation was founded on.  Only those individuals who are guilty of a particular crime may be punished for that crime, and only after they have been found guilty in a court of law.

2. The Constitution only restrains the federal government and states.

The US Constitution does not reach down to individuals.  It is a document that only binds the hands of the federal government.  The Constitution also prevents the states from squabbling with each other.  Progressives have perverted the Constitution into an instrument that grants the federal government the authority to trample on the rights of every individual.

3. Supreme Court Precedents are nothing more that the opinions of Supreme Court Justices.

Supreme Court Precedents are treated as the supreme lay of the land.  They have been elevated above the plain text and meaning of the Constitution itself.  According to the Constitution, Supreme Court Precedents have absolutely no legal merit or weight at all because they are not mentioned in the Supremacy Clause, which is is Article 6 Section 2 of the Constitution.

4. The United States is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy.

Probably twenty times a day I hear or read some talking head state that the United States is a Democracy. That is absolutely false.  The Framers of the United States Constitution hated and feared the form of government known as a Democracy.   They knew that Democracies are nothing more than mob rule where the rights of individuals and minorities are trampled on by the majority.

In a Democracy the acts of Parliament are the Supreme Law of the land.  In our Constitutional Republic the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land.  The rights and property of individuals are protected by the Constitution.

The Federal Government is divided into three distinct branches, which check and balance each other.  The Prime Minister and courts of Democracies are weak offshoots of Parliament.

Democracies are top down nations where provinces are just minor administrative districts.  The States here in the United States were meant to be mostly sovereign nations, tied together by a weak and limited federal government.

In a Democracy, Parliament wields the ultimate political authority.  In our constitutional republic, all political power rests in we the people.
