You know I’m pretty hard on the Arabs here

…but I really don’t like this:

Sabbar Kashur, 30, was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Monday after the court ruled that he was guilty of rape by deception. According to the complaint filed by the woman with the Jerusalem district court, the two met in downtown Jerusalem in September 2008 where Kashur, an Arab from East Jerusalem, introduced himself as a Jewish bachelor seeking a serious relationship. The two then had consensual sex in a nearby building before Kashur left.

When she later found out that he was not Jewish but an Arab, she filed a criminal complaint for rape and indecent assault.

You have got to be kidding me. She is an easy idiot and he is a lying bastard but Rape by deception? Give me a break. I’m with Gideon Levy on this one:

Gideon Levy, a liberal Israeli commentator, was quoted as saying: “I would like to raise only one question with the judge. What if this guy had been a Jew who pretended to be a Muslim and had sex with a Muslim woman?

“Would he have been convicted of rape? The answer is: of course not.”

Bottom line, this is wrong.

Update:
Stacy McCain’s headline is better than mine.

Ok, Morning Joe calls them “humanitarians”

They have the Israeli minster of public affairs and are pressing him he is not giving one inch and of course keeps referring to the videotape.

I was talking to A friend of mine was saying yesterday that Israel has learned their PR lesson. By filming everything when the Arab side speaks with hyperbole and exaggeration they are able to show actual video of what happened. The video of this is devastating to the attempts to demonize Israel.

This undercuts the “humanitarian” argument of their foes. Will it convince governments or groups that are out for the destruction of Israel? Of course not, it never will, but it will cause individuals who actually watch the video to think.

And as for Gene Robinson and Joe lets do a simple experiment to answer your question about disproportional response: I’ll hand you each a pistol we’ll get 5 guys to beat you with pipes and broomsticks and lets see how long it takes you to ask permission to shoot back.

Question: Why does Charles Johnson owe Andrew Sullivan a debt of Gratitude today?

I already commented on Johnson’s post which hearkens back to brighter days. Sullivan however is in full moonbat mode:

A simple point. The violence by the activists is pretty abhorrent. These are not followers of Gandhi or MLK Jr. But the violence is not fatal to anyone and it is in response to a dawn commando raid by armed soldiers. Emphasis mine

Andrew Andrew Andrew the only reason why the violence was not fatal is because the Israelis finally opened fire.

It really takes some effort to make Charles Johnson look good these days, but Andrew has it in him!

Comes from this tweet and post from Ruby Slippers Blog:

As you will see in the video, the young woman appears to have spent much if not all of her life in America. She has little if any discernible accent when she speaks. She has been taught to feel this anger and hatred. It seems highly unlikely to me she would be interested in truly hearing Mr. Horowitz’s opinions. Rather she uses the opportunity to reinforce her own beliefs. Credit her with honesty for her willingness to state on the record she would support such a “goal.” If she were a wiser person she might find a future filled with violence against the Jews solves nothing. It will, however, assure more war and despair for future generations in the Middle East. How very sad.

Here is the video, it should be watched by every college administrator.

No ambiguity, no waffling. Ruby Slippers bolds the quote and I’ll repeat it here:

Horowitz …‘Okay, I’ll put it to you this way. I am a Jew. The head of Hizbollah has said that he hopes that we will gather in Israel so he doesn’t have to hunt us down globally. For or Against it?

MSA member: For it.

Zombie’s report on the assault of Lars Vilks attack not withstanding this is more significant. This takes place on an American campus and is said by an American student. This is the reality that people like Pam Geller and Horowitz have warned us about for years.

We have to take this girl and people like her at their word. It needs to be understood that she and people like her are going to be the pool that our enemies use for a successful domestic attack. If we don’t act accordingly then the more fool us.
