My review of the 3rd volume of Robert Caro’s magnum opus The Years of Lyndon Johnson, Master of the Senate, is available at Amazon.com here.

Whatever you might think of Johnson as a man or of his positions, he was a master legislator , a man who could not only get things done but could understand the ins and outs of HOW things got done. Times have changed but Men have not, so if you want to understand how laws become laws this book should be read.

My review of Mary Lefkowitz book Not Out Of Africa: How “Afrocentrism” Became An Excuse To Teach Myth As History is available at Amazon.com here.

It was the reaction to this book published years ago where a humble scholar of ancient history tried preserve the historical record from an attempt to edit it for the sake of political correctness that directly led to the events chronicled in her second volume.

There very fact that either of these books needed to be written is a crime against scholarship and history.

My review of Mary Lefkowitz book: History Lesson: A Race Odyssey is available at Amazon.com here.

You will not that I wrote this review a bit ago. Normally I write Amazon reviews during the week and schedule them on weekend but I was otherwise engaged so this weekend I’m linking to some of my older reviews of various things you might have missed.

You will also note that I tagged this review with “Still Angry Left”. When you read this book you will understand why.

Doctor Who short trips 3 days left

Apparently Big Finish has for whatever reason lost it’s license to continue to sell their Doctor Who Hardcover Book Series called Short Trips. On the 1st of the year they are required to destroy their entire stock.

So as they don’t want to be stuck with their books they are selling what they have left at pretty hefty discounts. Even with Shipping to the US each volume they have left sells for $9.77 each. (the compilation volume double sized is $20.35). Of the 29 volumes 19,23,26,27 and 28 are sold out from Big Finish. No word on what the remaining stock is for the rest.

So if you want some nice original Doctor Who tales before they become recycled material, here is your chance to score some at a deal.

After the 1st of the year or if you want a volume they are out of there is always Mike’s comics.

Now excuse me while I go back to bed.
