What a difference a week makes.

As recently as one week ago tonight was going to be a moment that had been repeated many times in American History in a four year cycle. Tonight is the night when one of the major party candidates for president makes his case publicly to both his party’s convention and to the American people in a prime time speech.

As such a moment it would be of news value and depending on the result of the election and how the speech is received of some history value as well. Something that the chattering classes might talk about for a bit but nothing that would be considered earth shattering

But that was then.

Now instead of just Donald Trump, the former president and GOP nominee making a speech to the nation, it’s also Donald Trump, the man who missed being murdered by the tiniest of tiny margins giving his first public address the nation after facing death.

Salena Zito who had been scheduled to interview Trump that Saturday and who was feet away from Trump on the same grandstand as Corey Camperatore who died saving his wife and daughter interviewed Trump the next day and wrote this report:

“That reality is just setting in,” he said. “I rarely look away from the crowd. Had I not done that in that moment, well, we would not be talking today, would we?”  

Talking as he boarded his plane in Bedminster, New Jersey, for Milwaukee, where the Republican National Convention starts Monday and lasts through Thursday, Trump said his speech will meet the moment that history demands. “It is a chance to bring the country together. I was given that chance,” he said.

Early Sunday morning, Trump posted on Truth Social that it was “God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening” and that he would “fear not.” Again, in talking to the Washington Examiner, he invoked “God” for his deliverance.

“This is a chance to bring the whole country, even the whole world, together. The speech will be a lot different, a lot different than it would’ve been two days ago,” he said.

I have written in the past that Donald Trump as a man of 78 is set in his ways. It is very difficult for such a man to change the habits of a lifetime, but if there is anything that CAN do such a thing it’s the hand of God allowing him to walk away from certain death.

One of the most important things for a soul is to see itself in the light of truth and Donald Trump was given the incredible gift of being able to see that every remaining day of his life, is a gift from God.

In short, he’s been given an incredible grace, today we find out what he chooses to do with said grace.

The world will be watching. I suspect he will not disappoint.

Trying to Assassinate Trump was the Logical Progression For The Left

I can’t do better in explaining the logical progression than congressman Cory Mills: Key Quote:

“I look back at I’m thinking alright for an individual if you looked at the escalations and how they’re trying to approach him let’s just say it was like OK we want to censor and silence you, then we want to indict and imprison you now we’re attempting to kill you.”

This is why absolutely nobody on the right was surprised by this because after July 27th and the internal fight to get rid of Joe Biden and the Supreme Court Rulings what was the only way left to get rid of Donald Trump? What was the logical progression from people who don’t dare allow an administration that would actually investigate what has been going on in this administration?

Add to that the degree of incompetence at the highest levels. We’re not going to put snipers on the roof because it’s sloped and it’s a danger for the sniper? Seriously?

And as we find out more, the killer being tracked long before the shot, the amazing lack of social media presence of the killer, the rooftop with a clear line of sight left unguarded and unmanned all I can think of is an NFL team going for a high draft pick.

A coach tanks a game by giving significant playing time to players who, although they will try their best are incapable of stopping the other team.

If you don’t believe me compare Donald Trump Secret service team yesterday to the one they used on the day he inconveniently failed to be murdered. Not a DEI hire in sight

The CNN host can’t handle this because while they can dismiss me when I state those obvious facts, she can’t dismiss him, a professional sniper and sitting member of congress who has done this for years and once you accept these fact then what do you do about it?

A lot of media at the location and elsewhere are complaining about people blaming them for the attempt to kill Trump simply because they ‘ve been portraying him as Hitler and a threat to democracy who must be stopped at all costs to save us all.

The media in general and the press at the location in particular need to thank God almighty for their lives.

Because nothing would have turned the country in general and that crowd in particular into a mob seeking revenge like that shot hitting home.

I’ve been saying since after June 27th that if the press couldn’t force Joe Biden off the ticket it was likely the left would kill him.

But apparently when God saved Trump’s life he also saved Joe’s.

Not only has the subject been changed from his physical condition but the but the odds of the margin of a Trump victory going beyond the margin of fraud has become high enough that there is now little point in pushing Joe off the ballot, might as well let him take the fall.

Biden might not be the best of Catholics but all of those masses must have paid off.

Another life potentially saved by this is Robert F Kennedy.

Despite being an even more obvious target for assassination than Trump he has for months he has been denied secret service protection.

I presume this is because being a threat to pull vote from Biden voters who just can’t pull the lever for him, the Biden Administration and the folks giving orders wanted to make things easy for a potential killer so they’ve denied him protection right along.

Now a few days after Trump survives an attempt to kill him and a few hours after Trump publicly called on the Biden Administration to give him protection, the protection is given.

Like Biden there is no percentage in knocking off Kennedy anymore.

You might remember a few weeks ago I mentioned a Hispanic co-worker who had voted for Joe Biden last time who, sick of the economy and not willing to vote Trump told me in no uncertain terms that this time he is voting Robert F. Kennedy.

I took a Vacation day Sunday for my son’s birthday so I didn’t see him till yesterday. He came up to me again and said: “Now I vote Trump.”

That missed shot and raised fist changed everything, although in fairness I think the most critical voters to Joe Biden, those whose ballots magically appear after 1 AM on election day, are still as far as I know solidly in his camp. The question becomes will Trump margin be so beyond the margin of fraud that they won’t bother.

Finally let’s not forget the man who was murdered on Saturday. Corey Comperatore.

As a man who realizes everybody, no matter how rich or healthy eventually dies let me say this.

Corey Comperatore will be remembered in history as the man who responded in a moment of crises to successfully save his family and died doing so.

I’d wager that most men given their choice would choose to die peacefully in their bed, surrounded by loving family, children and grandchildren who he can say a final goodbye to before going. That in my opinion would be any man’s first choice and I’m sure his heartbroken family right now wishes that were the case.

But if a man had to pick a 2nd choice for a way to die, dying while saving the lives of your wife and kids has to be right up there and being remembered for doing so by the whole world is a pretty good way to go.

It brings to mind an old poem about men dying well that finishes:
