While the President is right about the state of the city of Boston (which is why I’m unlikely to go to any Redsox games next year) when he talks about the World Cup the reality is that the game would take place in Foxborough which is actually quite a ways away from the city.
It’s sort of the way people assume folks from Massachusetts are from “Boston” because they really don’t know any other city here. Although in fairness Trump’s move would likely hit Boston’s hotel industry.
Speaking of Foxborough the New England Patriots after six weeks under a new coach and with a real #1 receiver on the field suddenly find themselves in first place thanks to a pair of losses by the Buffalo Bills, one delivered by Said Patriots.
I credit the new receiver because as he’s now drawing the coverage of the other teams best guy it means that the rest of the receiving crew are now facing easier coverage which is why Maye keeps finding them open.
I had been talking to people at work saying: Boy whoever bet on this must have really scored big but apparently a $10 bet that the Pats would be in 1st place by week six only paid $45 and one that they would win the division only paid $55.
That surprised me more than them being in first but it tells me those oddsmakers really know their jobs.
We are nearing the 100th anniversary of the moment when Western Civilization started committing suicide, namely the anniversary of when the Lambeth Conference, which takes place every 10 years in the Anglican church, suddenly decided that birth control was no longer a grave sin.
The so called small exception they made became standard in all protestant denomination and the birth rates plummeted in the west. Within two generations the Brits lost their empire, within 4 generations brits and other western countries imported millions of Muslims and now 95 years later Brits are being arrested for displaying the Union Jack in their own country because it might offend Muslims.
You know God’s command to “be fruitful and multiply” like all of his rules and laws are not for HIS benefit, but is for ours.
The saddest thing about this answer to a question by Sen John Fetterman is that it’s being cheered by us:
It’s sad because not calling people Hitler and trying to murder political foes is such a low bar that one should not need to be praised but that’s where we now are.
I have absolutely no interest in a bunch of college kids saying something stupid in a chat when the left won’t critique college students for violently attacking feds or their fellow students.
That being said anyone who decided to demand GOP candidate Sears denounce them for their words at a time when the Democrats in VA won’t have their AG candidate step down for wishing murder on kids is really stupid.
As Casey Stengel once said about his 1962 Mets: “Can’t anybody play this game?”
