It’s called the Job Corps Fraud Blog and it is worth your time.

The author is one of the most honest and honorable people I know. Her story is here. I would believe her word on a blog over a sworn statement on a stack of bibles from a lot of other people.

I didn’t hear about the Dan Rather “Watermelon” business until a few minutes ago, which begs two questions…

1. Did I not hear about it because the MSM protects its own?

2. Did I not hear about it because nobody watches Chris Matthews show so nobody knew it happened?

So if a former news anchor takes a rhetorical fall in a show with few real viewers does he make a sound?

I guess so.

Oh and I guess we live in the post racial society because this story doesn’t rate a memeorandum link at all. I wonder if it would have been different if his name was Brit Hume?

Update: I figured it was implicit in the link that this was left coast rebel’s story. I haven’t heard any feedback on it but on reflection I really should have given him an explicit shout out. Consider it done.

Iraq reality vs Iraq fantasy…

Yesterday at the Oscars that I didn’t watch, a movie that I didn’t see, painting yet another grim picture of a war that hollywood still doesn’t support managed to win an Oscar.

War is a grim thing and those who fight it understand that its ending is a wonderful thing but wars are fought for a reason and for a result.

Meanwhile in the real world Iraq had an election yesterday and despite violence by those who want to kill this very young republic. They don’t seem to be succeeding.

Hollywood’s biggest failure has been their repeated attempts to convince the American People that Iraq is Vietnam and their attempts to paint the soldiers of Iraq the same way they painted Vietnam vets.

When Adrienne did such a good job doing it yesterday:

If we neglect our duties to God, which is a sin by the way, eventually the curtain will begin to be drawn around our souls. Our “system” will be overwhelmed, our intellect dulled, and we will be unprepared for the battles we will surely face in the upcoming years. The powers of darkness are fierce, unrelenting, and working overtime.

Yup that’s about right.
