A list of five bits of Good advice for Christians on Easter Sunday8

  1. Christ’s death and Resurrection paid for the sins of everyone who has ever lived and gave us all a shot at heaven. This includes loony leftists to torch Teslas, Palestinian terrorists who slaughter Jews, Men who think they’re women and the Annoying neighbor whose dog shits on your lawn. He didn’t play favorites, he redeemed everyone, even you.
  2. You have no idea when Christ will choose to touch people and when/if they will respond. There were a fair amount of Pharisees who became Christians and some of them likely were in favor of the Crucifixion before then. You would not have liked Matthew or Mary Magdalene the day before Christ touched them.
  3. In the end you can’t force someone across the finish line. You can warn and advise the foolish bridesmaids as much as you want, you can point them to the oil store and even loan them a few bucks to buy it but it’s their responsibility to be ready.
  4. If you spend all your time focusing on the sins of others you will likely miss your own redemption and be one of those who cried Lord Lord. Don’t be the guy who cries Lord Lord and doesn’t get into heaven.
  5. It’s ok to not understand or to even doubt some things. The disciples who saw Jesus walk on water, raise the dead repeatedly didn’t understand and doubted and they were there. Worry about walking before you run.

None of these are easy to keep in mind or to accept but all of them are Christianity 101

This story amazes me:

The Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing a high school football star at a track meet allegedly lives in a $900,000 home with his family inside a luxurious gated community — despite requesting that a judge lower his $1 million bond because of financial difficulties, according to a report.

Karmelo Anthony, 17, is holed up with his family at the pricey home inside the gated community of Richwoods in Frisco, Texas, after he was released from jail Monday on a reduced $250,000 bond for allegedly killing Austin Metcalf earlier this month, the Daily Mail reported.

The home — where rent is estimated to be $3,500 a month — had a white Suburban, a black Acura, and a third sedan in the driveway on Tuesday, according to the outlet.

Murder apparently pays depending on who the killer is and who is killed:

Anthony allegedly told police he was acting in self-defense, and his family claimed “the narrative being spread is false, unjust, and harmful” on a GiveSendGo.com fundraiser for their legal fees — which has raised more than $440,000 as of Wednesday.

Well given that journalists have become fangirls for murders and the father of the murdered was escorted out of a public press conference none of this should be a surprise.

fyi I’m going to be completely offline the next few days so comments won’t get approved before Monday.

I know we live in a time where we are used to instant information and instant action but the reaction of some conservatives over the last few days are making me doubt the sanity of some.

It’s sort of like when a Baseball team wins twenty in a row. It’s a great time and it’s a lot of fun but if after winning 20 in a row you get upset because you don’t repeated win twenty in a row.

Trump has been winning big for a long time in this first 100 days. No president has ever done so much in so little time.

But persuading people who have been ripping you off for decades to make a deal, and to GET a deal in writing that doesn’t happen instantly.

Trump announced his tariffs a few days ago, stocks reacted poorly and people panicked and let the same media who had buffaloed them for years drive them like fools. When Trump stuck to his guns they panicked more BUT not as much as those countries who rapidly figured out that Trump wasn’t bluffing.

The calls poured in dozens of countries anxious to make a deal, with the primary exception of China who immediately retaliated and the EU who claimed retaliation to happen in a week.

Now I don’t have the business experience that Donald Trump has but even I know that it takes more than a day to finalize a deal between two nations and commit it to paper. How many days do you think it takes to do so with 75 or 80 nations. Say 90 days?

The left and the media starting spinning this as Trump caving. When it was obvious that he hadn’t and even worse the stock market soared beyond all it had lost and then some suddenly it was insider trading.

I expect this from the left media and if you don’t expect from the people who lied to you about Biden’s condition for four years you’re a fool.

But if you’re a member of the GOP who has seen the last two and a half months of almost continual success did you really have any business freaking out during this weekend or beyond?

The reaction of conservatives reminds me of the twelve tribe of Israel during the Exodus from Egypt.

Over and over again after they had been delivered from danger they would start their cry: “We’re there no graves in Egypt that you led us out to get slain or starved, or die of thirst etc etc etc.”

When I hear conservatives whine about Trump not being dignified enough, or not winning fast enough, or not continuing an uninterrupted winning streak they sound like those who had seen miracles over and over again and now act if they are entitled to them.

Now there are many who make their living Hitting Trump and getting clicks from it and those folks are going to play the panic for all it’s worth.

But if you’re not one of them, please don’t become one of those “We’re there no graves in Egypt” Republicans?

Keep your head and let the people who spend their lives doing and building things do what they do best.

Remember it’s like the Tom Brady years here in New England. Just because Brady made it look easy to get to the Superbowl year after year didn’t mean it was. He’s just good.

Just because Trump has made it look easy doesn’t mean it is.

Oh, I am heartily tired of hearing about what Lee is going to do. Some of you always seem to think he is suddenly going to turn a double somersault, and land in our rear and on both of our flanks at the same time. Go back to your command, and try to think what we are going to do ourselves, instead of what Lee is going to do.

General US Grant

It’s been more than adequately demonstrated that all we needed to secure our southern border was not a new law but a new president.

It’s now being demonstrated that all we need to do in order to check Iran’s proxies is to demonstrate that we mean business.

BREAKING: The Iranian Regime is reportedly abandoning the Yemeni Houthis following relentless U.S. strikes.

Furthermore it appears that our Houthis friends are going to have a lot more to worry about than US air strikes

Yemeni pro-government forces are reportedly preparing to launch a ground offensive aimed at retaking the strategic port city of Hodeidah, according to officials speaking to CNN. The planned operation is expected to be backed by coordinated Saudi and U.S. air and naval support. The decision to pursue a ground assault comes amid growing assessments that continued airstrikes alone have stopped short of halting the Iranian-backed Houthi group’s persistent drone and ballistic missile attacks targeting commercial vessels in the Red Sea.

And lo and behold it appears that the various Iranian backed militias in Iraq have suddenly decided that disarming is a pretty good idea:

Several powerful Iranian-backed militia groups in Iraq are prepared to disarm for the first time to avert the threat of an escalating conflict with the U.S. Trump administration, 10 senior commanders and Iraqi officials told Reuters.

and apparently Iran has given their blessing for those guys to do what they can to save their own skins:

The commanders said their main ally and patron, Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) military force, had given them its blessing to take whatever decisions they deemed necessary to avoid being drawn into a potentially ruinous conflict with the United States and Israel.

What a difference the right president makes.

Closing thought: How different would history have been in the United States had declared war on Iran the day after they took our people hostage and invaded. One of the greatest terror networks in the world and the rise in Islamic militants in the west could have been totally averted.
