…as I give you a quick update on our Silly Bikini/speedo experiment for Morning Joe.

After two days the search for Mika picture has not only generated 2 1/2 times the number of hits than Savannah Guthrie, but Tuesday searches for Mikia in a Bikini or in “sexy photos” drove 5 times the amount of traffic here as Hannah Giles searches.

I guess the lady still has it, but there are still 5 days to go.

railroad tycoon boardgameMy review of tonight’s gamenight Game Railroad Tycoon the boardgame is available at Amazon.com Here.

It’s always a good choice for game night since we never know if we will end up with 5 , 6 or 7 players for the day. Tycoon can accommodate all those numbers and is a fast enough game that we can get it in twice a night.

Yeah I know there is a lot of politics to discuss and I haven’t nearly finished ribbing Charles as much as I plan to, but you know what, although all of that is good fun it’s more important to put the computer aside once in a while and just sit with friends and play.

Life is what you make of it, if you make it all worries even when times are tough you can forget to live it.

I might be totally wrong about this, but I suspect along that line Charles just needs to walk away for a few days and just enjoy the bikes, and the Jazz and all the wonderful things life has in store. Or if he doesn’t get as much pleasure from his music itself play it for someone else and share their pleasure in your gift and efforts. Even in the worst of times there are good memories to call upon and reasons to smile from a good meal to a relaxing song to a silly piece of comedy.

Gamenight is just one of those sources for me, I don’t know how many you have, but you can never have enough pleasant things in your life. I get the feeling Robert Stacy has these things and Charles needs more of em.

Why make enemies when there are so many friends just waiting to be made?

Back before I was proudly Banned from lgf for daring to defend Rush Limbaugh, Honorary Lizardoid I included the strings Mika Brzezinski bikini pics, Charles Johnson bikini pics and Robert Stacy McCain Bikini pics (this was during the Hannah Giles bikini pics days) and I mentioned that while I was getting some traffic from the Hannah Giles links, I got the same number of hit from the Mika Brzezinski bikini pics as I did from the Charles Johnson or Robert Stacy McCain strings, that is nearly 1.

Now that I’ve had time to think about it I was being unfair to Mika, one should compare apples to apples. Robert Stacy and Charles are bloggers and Mika is a television personality.

So we are going to hold a little contest. Let’s see how Mika can do against the rest of the crew from morning joe.

Are people more interested in Mika Brzezinski bikini pics, or Joe Scarborough Speedo pics? Can either compare with the public’s need for Willie Geist Speedo pics or even to International Superstar Erin Burnett Bikini Pics? Will Savannah Guthrie Bikini pics rule the roost or will they all be helpless against the juggernaut of Mike Barnicle Speedo pics fans? (Hey the guy has 6 kids he must be doing SOMETHING right).

I will check the daily hit totals for the strings via searches or wordpress tags and will e-mail the results to Willie Geist for his “News you can’t use” segment. Maybe they will use them, more likely they’ll have a restraining order put on me but at least their too late to get me proudly banned from Little Green Footballs.

I generally don’t do rule 5 entries but I’m going to make an exception here for a purely Sicilian reason, family interest.

Martha Raye pinup

This is Martha Raye from the 40’s. You likely remember her from of all things polident commercials but to the soldiers she entertained in war zones she was a lady.

So Why am I bringing this up. Well in the book I’ve already plugged and urged you to buy. The Army Insider by retired 30 year Sgt Major David C. Carden who served from Vietnam to the First Iraq war and beyond both in combat and undercover has a Martha Raye story on page 55 which I will partially repeat here:

I was a 19 year old kid in December 1966 when I first met Martha Ray(e). She came to my Special Forces camp at Kontum, Viet Nam as part of a USO tour. It was just her and her entourage. Martha Ray(e) was a movie star and a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Nurse Corps. This trip was a little entertaining an performing her Military duty. She was good people

It was early evening and I had just returned to camp after being out for about 10 days. We had a small one-room shack that served as a club and I headed over to get a Coke. I was unshaven, dirty and probably smelled a little ripe. Maggie was siting in the corner of the room at the poker take and a group of guys was standing around watching the game. I walked over and some of my friend were playing and there was an open seat. She looked at me and said, “Have a seat young Sergeant.” I told her I didn’t have any money with me and a voice behind me said, “Here kid”. Sergeant Major Johnson the Camp Sergeant Major handed me $200 in MPC’s So I sat down…

I’ll tell the end of the story next Sunday, but if you can’t wait the self published book is available at Amazon and is a great way to say thanks to a man (part of my family by marriage) who gave thirty years to serving his country while enjoying a bunch of great yarns.

Update: Welcome Rule 5 readers. The promised end of the story is here.
