News keeps breaking from the NY 23. This time it from TCOT report as recorded by Michael Patrick Leahy:

We acted very tone deaf in how we selected this nominee.”

Joseph also took a shot at Clinton County Chairman and Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, who threw the nomination to Scozzafava despite the fact that the majority of the Clinton County committee members who attended a candidate forum voted for the ideologically conservative Paul Maroun, and not for the ideologically liberal Scozzafava.

“I would be as much offended if I was a resident or committee person of that county. This process, that started in an honorable fashion has turned into a tainted runaway election.”

Joseph conceded that because of this, Scozzafava is almost certain to lose the election.

It’s looking a lot like some local GOP people decided to flex the muscles because they could. The damage this is going to do to the party nationally can’t be overestimated, but then again this might be a feature rather than a bug to these guys who are more interested in their own fiefdoms.

Meanwhile Robert Stacy takes a few minutes away from the desperate fight to contain the Flemish Menace to attempt to get the funds to head a bit closer to my neck of the woods.

Right now, I’m on deadline for a Wednesday column about the NY-23 special election. Dick Armey’s going to be campaigning for Hoffman on Thursday. So I plan to leave either late Wednesday or early Thursday to cover it in person. Your continued generosity to the Shoe Leather Fund is necessary to this effort.

Meanwhile he writes the following for the spectator:

However, Hoffman is battling against major party candidates, with the national GOP spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for Scozzafava — angering conservatives like Michelle Malkin — while the Democratic Party pours cash into the campaign coffers of its candidate, Bill Owens.

With high-profile supporters including Fred Thompson, Dick Armey, Bill Kristol and the Club for Growth, the Hoffman campaign has become what John Gizzi of Human Events calls a “national conservative crusade.”

Conservatives have had their eye on the Hoffman campaign for weeks, but now major national media are finally taking notice. “The race the nation should be watching is a special election in upstate New York,” Newsweek magazine’s David Graham wrote yesterday, saying the outcome would show “whether Democrats can hold on to voters who went for Obama in 2008.”

This is actually going to show nothing of the sort as the Democrat candidate is unlikely to break the mid 40’s if he is lucky but it will certainly be a referendum of the NRCC and on Newt who appears to think that the majority of the sales of his new book (my review here) are going to come from NRCC mass purchases than from conservative history buffs or he just wants to keep his viability for income as a party pundit (that’s what many candidacies are actually all about.) hey it’s a living.

Fred Thompson has other sources of income so he is less resistant to picking sides based on conservative beliefs.

The real question is will Rush or Palin risk capital on this race that in the end means very little although it will be used a a propaganda victory for the Obamacult, but if Palin is interested in making trouble for Romney and Paulenty she can come out for Hoffman. That will put them in the uncomfortable position of either joining her (and having them appear as followers) or supporting Dede (and making particularly Paulenty unacceptable to conservatives, Romney is already iffy) or not being willing to stand up for anything.

The party make a bad investment in NY and their stock is crashing. Apparently they’d rather lose their stake then re-invest in Doug Hoffman. What fools.

However it turns out it won’t be boring.

Unlike my local Mayoral candidate who doesn’t know an opening when he sees it Doug Hoffman saw this fox story:

Thirty-eight forged or fraudulent ballots have been thrown out, according to records at the Rensselaer County Board of Elections in Troy, N.Y. Enough votes, an election official admits, to likely have tipped the November election to the Democrats.

and struck while the Iron is hot via a Robert Stacy McCain Exclusive:

The campaign of Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman is preparing to request that President Obama send monitors from the Justice Department to prevent vote-fraud efforts in the crucial Nov. 3 special election in upstate New York’s 23rd district.

The actual release is also on McCain’s site and linked here.

“Today, I am calling on Bill Owens to do the right thing and, when he is with President Obama tonight; ask him to take immediate action to defund ACORN and block the flow of any and all federal funds to the scandal ridden organization and its numerous subsidiaries. In addition, Bill Owens should request that Justice Department monitors be put in place to insure that ACORN’s political arm in New York State, the Working Families Party, does not steal this election. In Troy, New York, just South of the 23rd Congressional District, a special prosecutor is currently investigating the forgery of absentee ballots in September’s Primary elections and the Working Families Party is the focus of that investigation. Its common knowledge that ACORN and the Working Families Party have absolutely no respect for the law and I know I am the one candidate they want to defeat.”

Oh and Charles for future reference this is another example of actually saying a press release is a press release. That’s the type of thing that done by what we call professional reporters.

This should be an object lesson to the NRCC by doing this not only does Hoffman guarantee Fox coverage as he acts based on their coverage. (Which Stacy links here) but he explicitly manages to link Obama to Acorn if he doesn’t act and both of his opponents as well if they don’t join his call.

This is called the smart way of doing things. We need smart people in Washington.

And speaking of smart how come McCain can break this story even if he isn’t in NY yet but nobody else can?

If you can explain why this isn’t on Memorandum you are smarter than I am. Maybe Move-on is making another set of demands? Or maybe republicans don’t want to offend Newt. Hey Newt how’s your candidate doing? What does she think of Acorn?

Vote Hoffman!

Update: My full collection of posts on the subject are here, not as much fun as the Flemish Menace but very interesting.

if your are Jewish then apparently you can just die:

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Organization is holding a conference this week in Egypt. No Jews are allowed.

Apparently Jewish Doctors were uninvited at the last minute.

I would think the Susan G. Komen organization wouldn’t go for something like that.

Why don’t you ask them?

There is a page for reporting improper conduct, it is made for this.

Update: Would any organization have been willing to do this a mere 10 years ago?

These people would rather let their populations die than have them be cured by Jews. And this from a country that has allegedly been at ‘peace’ with Israel for the last thirty years.

I wish I could say I was amazed.

Update: Pam Geller is outraged

What would Susan Komen say? We are to be sympathetic to a foundation that wants to cure cancer but has no problem with Jewish genocide? Not one dime to Komen.

I would remind her that on their contact page you can report inappropriate behavior. I’d say this qualifies.

A: There is something important about it?

Look as an old married man heading toward 50 I have plenty of admiration for particular parts of the female anatomy and Miss McCain is an attractive young woman but she simply has the misfortune to have been born in the age of digital camera and twitter so the small jokes and fun pictures that get shared are going to be well, everywhere.

Yeah I know she should know it would get out there but who cares? She was having fun, I’m still young enough to remember fun, I liked it. Fun was and is good. It’s a dumb fun picture, no drugs, no sex tape, no drunkenness. Lets all get a life here.

Yeah her politics are a bit off and the direction she thinks the republican party should go is off so what? We’ll address that topic when it is relevant it’s not here, cripes you’d think she was in a girls gone wild video.

Are guys going to look at the shot? YES! Are they going to “admire it” YES! Should she have realized this? Well DUH! Does that make her a slut? Nope!

Now if decide you are going to have a privileged attitude be prepared to be hit for it. That is Kosher and Robert Stacy has fun with it.

Whatever. Meghan McCain not a victim. She the heiress to a fortune and the daughter of a powerful U.S. Senator. She is also spoiled rotten and arrogant, lecturing the world at Tina Brown’s Daily Beast without any more qualification than her family name and an Ivy League diploma.

For someone like that to play the victim card — “Boo hoo hoo! people said mean things about me!” — is absurd, and reminds me of what I wrote at the Green Room today:

Nothing is quite so annoying as fake victimhood: Overprivileged people trying to elicit sympathy in the Oprah Age by claiming they are victimized by something that doesn’t actually harm them at all.

“Sticks and stones,” OK? Grow up.

In fact his is having a LOT of fun with it.

He will doubtless send her thank you notes for the hits he will get from the: Megan McCain boobs, Megan McCain tits, Megan McCain breasts, Megan McCain pics et/al google bombs that will produce a ton of hits for him. Will it match the Mika Brzenzinski bikini pics hits? Perish the thought!

I’m reminded of the line from Happy Days:

Fonz: I have one thing to say to you shortcake, If you put out an advertisement someone is going to answer that ad

Hey she’s a nice looking young girl who has a lot to learn about life, hopefully sooner or later she’s find the right guy and will settle down. If my sons were older I’d recommended them, but until then I have some bits of advice for her:

#1. Hey enjoy life, have fun. I remember fun, fun is good. Enjoy your youth responsibly.

#2 Remember count your blessings, particularly when you have a ton of them, instead of complaining about stuff and people. That makes you seem petty.

#3 If you are going to engage in the market of ideas you have to be prepared to defend them and take the hits. That’s part of the job description. If you can’t do so then find something else you want to do.

and finally

#4 My father always told me this and I’ll repeat it to you:

“Profanity is the attempt of a weak and feeble mind to express itself forcibly”

That should do it.

Profanity for the sake of profanity isn’t cool, particularly from a young lady. (Yes that opinion dates me, I don’t care).
