but to put it simply, its so bad that even Andrew Sullivan believes it’s corrupt and some members seem ready to out themselves before somebody else does.

Gibbs apologizes, that’s very significant, Even more significant as the NAACP and White house heads spin is this attempt by media matters at spin. This headline is the laugh of the day:
Will media fall for Breitbart’s attempt to spin his spectacular failure?
Let’s see, Whitehouse embarrassed, Media embarrassed, NAACP embarrassed double standards highlighted, the sudden need for “context” before charges are made.
The Bunker hill example is perfect. Media Matters better hope Breitbart doesn’t have any more spectacular failures like this or they will be out of business.
Memeorandum thread here.
The ultimate Irony, guess who is defending Shirley Sherrod, some guy named Williams. Funny old world isn’t it?
Who acted dishonorable and who did not in the Sherrod case?

I was part of a spirited exchange on twitter last night with Dan Riehl and Josh Trevino I argued that we are obliged to act honorably saying:
Being right isn’t always in our control but acting honorable is.
So in that spirit lets take a long look at what happened here and who acted honorably and who did not. (more…)
Breitbart on Good Morning America
Posted: July 21, 2010 by datechguy in internet/free speech, opinion/newsTags: andrew breitbart, gma, morning joe, naacp, obama administration, race, shirley sherrod
Did some channel surfing to see if there was anything new on this stuff and noticed Breitbart on GMA so I’m going to switch over briefly for this.
Checking Morning Joe while they do an airline story first, Pat brings up the “no backup” from the White House business. If the story is all about the Whitehouse and the NAACP rushing to throw people out of the bus then Breitbart has won this big time.
The irony of course was they were afraid of Beck and Beck backed her up.
Joe Scarborough: “If they are afraid of the guy with the chalkboard they can we get someone else to deal with Iran because we’re screwed”
Apparently the government is suddenly backing off too
Ok back to GMA
Shirley Sherrod on GMA, She says she still backs this administration but is “dissented”, they owe her BIG for that line
She hasn’t decided if she will accept her job back. Bazinga!
Breitbart on GMA at 7:30
7:20 a.m. Back to Morning Joe Talking to Savannah the story is all about the weak and scared White House. Look at them squirm!
7:35 a.m. GMA give example of racism left and right. New Black panther on left and for right? Macaca and Washington, give me a break!
7:36 a.m. Breitbart is using this appearance with Eric Boehlert to play the double standard card and quite effectively.
7:38 a.m. Who wants to bet that this is the first time a lot of GMA people heard about the 100k offer., Boehlert says he will take Lewis over 4 videos.
7:39 a.m. Breitbart notes the audience reaction in the video when she talked about deciding how much help was to be given. Compares this to the NAACP standard on the tea party.
7:40 a.m. Breitbart has cleaned their clocks. Boehlert says it’s ok to show Breitbart’s video on the “Washington Incident”.
7:42 a.m. He cleaned their clock. Boehlert looked like a duck hit over the head. GMA now is in a position where they need to show the Breitbart videos and if they don’t he can right them on it. Bazinga!
Here is the politico story:
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Wednesday that he will reconsider the abrupt firing of Shirley Sherrod, a Georgia-based Agriculture Department official who was the victim of a media frenzy over comments that turned out to have been distorted by video editing.
“I am of course willing and will conduct a thorough review and consider additional facts to ensure to the American people we are providing services in a fair and equitable manner,” Vilsack said in a statement e-mailed by USDA at 2:07 a.m.

Update: here is video of Breitbart on CNN last night:
And the big government story
Update 2: Here is the video:
I challenge Eric Boehlert, re-examine the actual article. Where is the smear campaign? The only people who knowingly defamed Sherrod is the NAACP.
