…then you didn’t miss anything tonight. The resolution disapproving planned parenthood lost 7-4 and the two zoning resolutions lost 10-1.

I also had the distinct displeasure listening to counselor Tom Conry give us the “personally opposed” nonsense. Give me the honest disagreement of a Reclusive Leftist or a Chris Lackey over that any day.

Once again the mayor did not attend, once again the city solicitor cowed the counsel, once again Rosemary Reynolds stood alone.

Kudos for counselor Jody Joseph for going on camera for an interview before the vote (although he voted against us). UPDATE interview added:

My internet is iffy for some reason tonight so I’ll have to do more later.

Update: Rosemary Reynolds also talked before the vote:

No other counselor, nor the city solicitor would talk on camera before the vote.

And yet another protester on Planned Parenthood:

…isn’t this kind of a weird story:

Iranian regime President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lashed out at President Barack Obama for not closing down Gitmo as he had promised.

You know once there was a day when murderous despots had to make up promises broken by American presidents. It’s pretty odd when a guy like Ahmadinejad can say something like this and be accurate.

Of course, I approve of breaking this promise but it should never have been made. That is actually a bit of Lincoln in him to quote:

As to sustaining it, my promise is out, as before stated. But, as bad promises are better broken than kept, I shall treat this as a bad promise, and break it, whenever I shall be convinced that keeping it is adverse to the public interest.

In the words of the 10th doctor, the world is very strange.

I was in the middle of writing another post when I heard Joe talk about the super-majorities and the nonsense of complaining about republicans. When the subject of republicans came up the words “Sarah Palin” came out of someone’s mouth and the first words that came in the background was “wrote on her hand.”

Not a word about the speech, how it was received, her popularity at Daytona, she wrote on her hand that’s all that matters.

but that wasn’t the amazing thing. Mika then went after Scott Brown saying the voters of Massachusetts don’t know him, he doesn’t stand for anything and voted for nothing. You ignorant Massachusetts rednecks!

I like Mika but I don’t remember seeing her anywhere that I went.

and that Kennedy seat nonsense from her? Maybe I should call her Mika Coakley.

If democrats want to know why they aren’t taken seriously, this is why. Contempt for the people.
