…that was declared today by the Governor.

The Massachusetts Legislature on Wednesday granted Gov. Deval Patrick the power to appoint a temporary replacement for the late Sen. Edward Kennedy, but with one catch: when the appointment can be made.

Lawmakers declined to allow the law to go into effect immediately, meaning Patrick (D) will either have to declare an emergency situation or wait 90 days to name Kennedy’s (D) successor.

The governor said after press time last night that he would declare an emergency so he can make the pick right away. He has scheduled an 11 a.m. announcement for Thursday.

I was tempted to call my son’s school to make sure they had taken all the necessary steps to cope during our state’s dire emergency.

However there IS an emergency going on, my tenant just lost HIS job today which means that the rent is going to be a real problem since bartenders don’t make an awful lot so he’s going to be collecting only 50% of not much.

If I was working we could manage but now it’s going to be even tighter.

Good thing that the recession is over eh?

to Sullivan’s syndrome as this blog has lately become all Charles and Robert all the time. (well not quite all but it seems that way).

It’s been good for my numbers but it’s not good for mind or the soul to obsess on this or any matter. So here is what I’m going to do:

I’m going to limit myself to one post on the subject a day (not including the round by round), the last post today on the subject will be round 7 (and an exciting round it has been so far) later tonight. I’ll of course still answer comments on these threads. Tomorrow I’ll have a single post in the morning and perhaps round 8 at night or I’ll combine the two of them into one in the evening.

But there is cleaning in the house to do, a $20 bill missing that I’ve got to find, my amazon vine thing coming up, Rush on Leno and Dinner for the family that needs buying and cooking and other assorted errands and phone calls to make.

Those things are known as real life and I’ve got to make sure I don’t neglect it.

That Darn Cat

The family cat’s constant decisions lately to ignore the litter box and decide the carpets and wood floors are better target is not making a friend of me.

When the first thing you do in the morning is clean up after said cat it doesn’t do much for the love of animals.

Well went to the dentists to check on my implant.

Our regular family dentist noticed the crown was loose so she referred me back to the dentist that did it decades ago.

We had a great time reminiscing over all kinda things, then he finally took a look.

The 20 year old implant is fine, the reason the crown is loose is the plastic washer is worn.

The thing is it was the 3rd implant he had ever done (it’s now a specialty of his) The implant isn’t made anymore, and the washer isn’t made anymore, when I had this done my kids weren’t even born.

So we are going to leave it be, it doesn’t hurt, it’s not causing any trouble, if he happens upon the part he’ll let me know, but since it is SO old he and the surgeon might decide to have me come in again just to get data on how that old model hold up over two decades of use.

So I may be an object of study, that doesn’t happen every day.
