Just Voted for Trump In Massachusetts…

Posted: March 3, 2020 by datechguy in Uncategorized

…I was the 28th vote at my location although there was a fellow behind me about to vote Democrat.

Despite it being a warm and sunny day there was nobody holding any signs for any candidate at the entrance to the polling place which is very odd.

I’ve only seen two signs in Fitchburg yards the entire election season, both for Elizabeth Warren.

Because Deval Patrick’s name is 1st on the ballot and everyone knows him I expect a few votes to go his way.

I don’t get out of work till midnight & don’t have a phone so I won’t know the results till after I get home but that’s OK.

Given that the South Carolina Primary is the 1st Primary Race Joe Biden has won in all of his attempts at the Presidency what does that say about his chances of success against Donald Trump?

One side effect of the Corona Virus is that when nobody shows up for Chargers home games this season the front office will have a ready made excuse.

I don’t understand how anyone with any knowledge of the history of Communism can be surprised at this NY Post story concerning China’s decision to cover-up the existence of the Corona virus when first alerted at the start of the year?

I know a lot of us get peeved at the seemingly insane media bias of folks on CNN & MSNBC but if the difference between a regular six or seven figure paycheck was your willingness to spit out that kind of junk wouldn’t you think twice about risking it in a thin journalism market?

Funny how the list of big liberals getting destroyed by #metoo keeps growing.

This weekend Politico had a piece about some early Jockying among potential successors to the President for the GOP nomination in 2024.

It goes without saying that Vice President Pence will have the edge as the Vice President. Other logical candidates include Senator Ted Cruz (Assuming that President Trump doesn’t put him on the SCOTUS in his 2nd term) former Ambassador Nikki Haley, Senator Rick Scott, Senator Lindsey Graham. Perhaps we might even see a never Trump Favorite like Romney or maybe a technocrat like Charlie Baker try to jump in (if nothing else that would be amusing).

But no matter who is the eventual nominee no matter how wonky, how respectful, how proper, or anything else, I can guarantee you that the Media/Democrat/Left will define that person as WORSE THAN TRUMP!

It won’t matter if they never tweet, it won’t matter if they’ve been married once, loyal to their wife/husband. Regular church goers or with a history of good works and government experience behind them. The Democrats are going to define that person as the 2nd coming of Trump and thus the worst person in the world.

It’s going to be a lot of fun to try to turn the VP into Trump but I suspect it will be a lot more fun trying to see that played on someone else.

I know this is many years from now and there’s a lot to pay attention to but as it’s coming I thought I’d be the first to say it.

When I first learned how to drive a manual transmission car as a teenager, my dad made me go back and forth on the driveway. I’d put my car into first (grinding the hell out of the clutch), move it down the driveway, then stop, shift into reverse, and go back. Back and forth, hour upon hour until I had mastered the basics. Once I had that down, shifts into other gears were easy. I couldn’t be a good driver until I had mastered the basics.

Mastering the basics is why the world is struggling with the corona-virus. Everyone is talking about the corona-virus. Everyone. It’s tanking the stock market, ravaging cruise lines, and putting people into a panic. We now have governments bleaching streets to try and stop the spread.

Yet, all the things that we (as in the populace) need to actually do are pretty simple:

  • Get your flu shot
  • Wash your hands
  • Cough into your elbow
  • Keep your kitchen clean
  • Cook your food properly

(Yes, I realize the flu shot doesn’t cover the corona-virus. But if you’re sick with regular flu and then get the corona-virus, it has a higher chance of killing you.)

Despite all this, I guarantee I’ll see someone walk out of a restroom without washing their hands, sneeze without covering their mouth, and leave a kitchen messy for more than a day. I also bet that China won’t stop open food markets either.

We don’t have a corona virus outbreak problem. We have a culture problem, in that too many people aren’t doing the basic things right. If you can’t do basic hygiene, the best medicine in the world can’t help you.
