The Collision of a flight with a military helicopter over the Potomac is the first real big test for the Trump administration.

This is something that has to be handled wisely, Trump needs to be presidential while at the same time highlighting the importance of competence vs DEI when dealing with important life and death jobs.

Of course the press spin has helped him as it again seems to be titled toward amplifying the loudest and most hysterical “Blame Trump” declarations.

I suspect Trump’s instincts will prove wiser than the press’ but time will tell if I’m right or not.

While Trump executive actions have been swift and decisive and dizzying there is one thing that needs to be remembered.

All of these actions that Donald Trump has taken and he has taken many rather popular acts are completely reversible because they are by executive order.

If he wants them to stand beyond his presidency Trump needs to get these thing codified into law and the fact that the GOP house has not taken any action along those lines yet disturbs me.

Of course they might be waiting for an opportune time or might be waiting for a spending bill that can’t be filibustered to attach his EO’s to, but whatever the tact they need to keep this in mind otherwise the next Democrat president can and likely will put all of this nonsense that Trump has removed back in play with a single signature.

One of the things that never ceases to amaze me concerning the media and Donald Trump is their complete inability to learn from their mistakes.

President Trump after a term in office and four years to think about how to achieve his goals has pivoted in terms of tactics to adapt them to current conditions and has used this to achieve the highest approval ratings he has ever scored.

Meanwhile the media continues to try to spin and play “gotcha” in an age where the net allows us to debunk them to a public that doesn’t trust them.

Perhaps never having been taught how to think but only how to react they may not know how to deal with the onslaught of action that this administration has become and serving a niche market means they don’t dare go out of the zone.

They’ll have to wait for a mistake, one will eventually come but will they be ready when it does?

I’ve been surprised by the lack of focus on Abortion in the hearings for RFK JR.

The reality is that it’s going to take republican votes to sink any Trump nomination and the place where Kennedy should have been most vulnerable was abortion being a lifelong Democrat. Of course his description of abortion as a tragedy rather than something to be celebrated shows his age.

That they didn’t press it more suggests it’s all about show and fundraising from true believers than anything else.

Of course the unwillingness to celebrate killing kids rather than simply tolerating it at alone might be enough to cost him Collins and Murkowski. But will it cost him more?

As Trump’s press secretary welcomes new media to the press conferences in DC allow me to take a slight bow.

While I was unable to secure Trump as an interview in the closing days of the blog as a business I can take a bow for another matter.

I’m welcome to allow someone to correct me but unless I’m very much mistaken the very first question asked of Donald Trump either on the campaign trail or as President by a member of the new media in an official setting was asked by me in Derry NH in September of 2015

Not a bad legacy

You can’t get a better contrast between the Trump administration and the Biden Administration than the pardons issued. All the people Trump pardoned are folks that he thought were punished for their political beliefs and or overcharged were pardoned at a time when it would cause maximum blowback from the media.

Most of those Biden pardoned were those who had aided him in attacking his political foes or enriching him and or enriching him and his family and were pardoned at a point least damaging to his presidency.

Oh and there were the killers as well.

It was hilarious watching the press go after the J6 pardons and acting as if Trump didn’t care about police less than 24 hours after Biden commuted the sentence of Leonard Peltier who killed two FBI agents. along with quite a few other violent criminals.

It is even more ironic that as they still complain about this they are ranting about going after violent thugs that have been let free by blue state authorities directly after committing violence because they came here illegally.

The narratives never change from the press, never.

The biggest contrast so far from Trump term 1 to Trump term 2 is the fact that the inside people are no longer restraining him.

There were a lot of things Trump wanted to do in term 1 that people in the Senate or in the Cabinet or elsewhere repeatedly advised him not to do or secretly tried to stop him from doing and Trump trying to get along went along.

Not any more, like the US army at the Kasserine Pass he learned from his last term and the years in between and is plowing full speed ahead.

One of the best realities of the situation has been Donald Trump telling people to their faces actual reality. From his inaugural speech to Davos Trump has not hesitated in calling a spade a spade and doing so in the face of those who deserve it.

Such frankness in saying the truth aloud is completely foreign to Capital Hill and their minions.

I wonder how they will deal with it?

The biggest Contrast between this week and last week has been press access.

Trump has taken questions every single day and spontaneous questions from hostile press outlets and hasn’t ducked any of them.

The press has had almost nothing to say about their sudden access and the the contrast between a president who IS in charge and a president who isn’t.

But industry has got it and Chrysler has already announced that they will restart one plant in Illinois and build another vehicle in Detroit.

Jobs no doubt that the blue governors of those states will take credit for.

Am I the only person who when I heard about the reported Chinese Hack of Treasury instantly thought this was to cover data already sold to the CCP willingly by this administration?

It’s a little too early to speak ill of the dead so rather than talk about Carter the president let me say this about Jimmy Carter the man. He really loved his wife and they apparently had an excellent marriage.

The one thing that the death of President Carter means, besides the issuing of his presidential dollar coin, is that the Biden Administration gets one final chance to do something right, handling the funeral as President Trump will have no responsibility for it.

Remember how that Cancer bill that the left blaming Musk for holding up was finally passed by the Senate when it was no longer useful for the narrative, well now that it’s no longer useful to lie about the job numbers they are being revised downwards in a spectacular fashion before Biden team is gone. As if any sane person believed them.

Oh now the press is also calling Biden’s mental decline the most underreported story of 2024. This is false, it was not underreported. It was specifically denied by the press and those speaking what was plain to any person with eyes or showing video examples of it were declared liars. These people are at best incompetent fools and at worst bought lying scum, or possibly both.

Side note. One of the advantages of having been a credentialed member of press while wearing a Doctor Who scarf is that the MSM assumes you are a leftist, I was able to hear what these people were saying in the press areas and let me say, there is nothing like hearing what the press has to say to each other off camera to make you realize they can’t be trusted.

If you really want to understand how Bad the Press is watch this fellow try to defend carjackers from being shot.

Speaking of Doctor Who the Christmas Special this year apparently did very poorly in the ratings. It was not a bad story and it had some real moments, particularly the ordinary year, and in most years it would have drawn respectable but not spectacular numbers and Gatwa wasn’t bad at all, but when you spend years chasing away your customer base bad things tend to happen to the numbers.

Of course quality Doctor Who stories are continuing to be produced regularly, only they are coming from Big Finish on audio rather than the BBC. It’s worth noting that Jodi Whitaker’s Doctor is getting a 12 episode series at Big Finish, while I won’t be buying them it will be interesting to see if with competent writers she can pull off the Doctor. The high quality of the writing at big finish did wonders for the reputations of Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy’s place in the Doctor Who pantheon.

It will be very interesting to see what a year or two of problems solvers being in charge does for America and the world. The amount of problems already solved just by them being about to take power has been considerable.

Speaking of competent Sweden whose novel approach of reality seemed to work with COVID has apparently decided to solve their problem of violent Islamic Immigration

On a local note a Fitchburg Bar & Grill is hosting a weekly pinball event. Alas Mill City Pub is holding it on Wednesdays and I have at least 2-3 Wednesday’s a month already taken for the next few years.

Finally this is my last post as a business. Starting tomorrow no more paid writers, no more covering stories, this blog ceases to be a business as of tomorrow. The writers who are here will still have posting rights if they want to use them and I’ll still post on occasion likely about our Dynasty Baseball leagues (Having a bad start in 73 so far)

or if something moves me to do so and of course the Indulgence Calendar will go up every month.

I regret that I didn’t score that final Donald Trump interview for you all and in addition to finding me here you will find me regularly on WQPH 89.3 FM’s Your Prayer Intentions and of course I’ll be at Pintastic NE every year scarf and fedora in hand although the camera will be optional from this point on.

I hope you found that last 15 plus years entertaining and informative. I’m very proud of that but most proud of the title I once held as “the hardest working person in the blogosphere”. And I thank all those who have had good things to say about the blog from Steve Bannon to Donald Trump, Pam Geller, Robert Spencer, the Granite Grok gang and of course Stacy McCain who I learned an awful lot from.

I’ve been all over the country and met amazing people everywhere because America is an amazing place full of amazing people. I shown and told you things as they were and have given my honest opinion unspun by cash or power. In return you have given me your time and support.

I will take the joy of those things to my grave, you’ve all made my life better. I won’t forget it.

You would think that two weeks after Trump’s election and a full two months before his swearing in the left would have calmed down a bit.

You’d be wrong:

Calls for Morning Joe to be boycotted have come from Jen Rubin and Joe and Mika have been attacked by the left for daring to even speak to Trump

Of course if you don’t have all that many viewers will anyone notice if they leave?

And as Comcast is dumping the whole network will anyone care?

Rob Reiner is being attack on Bluesky for apparently not being loyal enough to the left reich.

Rob bleeping Reiner isn’t left enough for the left anymore.!

Did nobody teach these lefties that Robespierre was eventually killed by the mobs of the state that he led?

Piers Morgan had a boatload of leftists on his show to talk about the Trump win.

There is an interesting exchange between Cenk Uygur & Allan “My method assures me Kamala will win” Lichtman that’s getting a lot of views.

Lichtman is also leaving X doesn’t want to interact with those who disagree anymore I guess

They’re eventually going to run out of their own allies to eat but not yet.

Of course the best sign of the left falling apart are people with something to lose both running away from their agenda.

Disney has reportedly decided to shelve an episode of the children’s cartoon series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, apparently over its plot concerning a transgender high school athlete.

And keeping their stars in line:

Just when maybe Disney thought they’d gotten a handle on their difficult production and its even more difficult star, Zegler went on a rant last week, wishing harm on Donald Trump supporters. “There is a deep sickness in this country,” she wrote on Instagram. “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”

Then she quickly changed her tune again — likely after some stern words from Disney — claiming, “I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram last week.”

“I let my emotions get the best of me,” she continued. “Hatred and anger have caused us to move further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse.”

When there is money at stake things change.

But the really funny thing of the week was this from the view after going after the Matt Gaetz nomination and Gaetz personally having to put out a disclaimer live on TV.

RedState nails it:

What’s so great about this is just how much Hostin clearly didn’t want to read it. Watch her facial expressions, which are not subtle in the slightest, and then listen to her struggle to make it through.

Never has a show host wanted to rip the heart out of their producer more than Hostin in that moment. Just before she starts reading the statement, she has some kind of spasm. From there, you can tell she’s doing everything she can to hold it together. Hostin did not want to offer that correction, but even overpaid elites have to play by the rules of the legal system. Well, at least sometimes.

Remember Trump won’t be President for another two months and no votes are going to take place on any of those guys before then. Everything you’re hearing now is just noise.
