Meanwhile in the land of Israel…

…the rockets continue:

6:10PM: A short time ago, palestinian terrorists fired yet another Qassam into Israel.

I guess the bomb-the-smuggling-tunnel approach is not working so well.

5:30PM: A short time ago, the IAF struck some smuggling tunnels. I’m shocked, shocked I tell you!

11:12AM: Two houses were damaged in the Qassam attacks earlier this morning. While no-one was injured, some Sderot residents were treated for shock.

9:22AM: Today’s palestinian rocket firing shenanigans have begun, with 2 Qassams hitting Israel.

IAF smuggling tunnel strikes to begin later.

The money flows foolishly:

Israel recently approved the transfer of NIS 175 million ($41.8 million) in order to pay the salaries of Fatah government workers in Gaza, but Ynet learned Thursday night that about half of the funds were used to compensate residents whose houses were damaged by Israel Defense Forces fire during Operation Cast Lead.

Ten days after the money was transferred, not one penny has been deposited in the Palestinian Authority workers’ bank accounts in Gaza.

And Israellcool is shocked shocked! (Well not really)

In the words of Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Eli Yishai:

“The pathetic desire to create a partner on the Palestinian side has led to an absurd and shocking situation, in which the State of Israel is compensating the Palestinians for Operation Cast Lead before transferring funds to compensate the residents of southern Israel.”

What makes this even more absurd and shocking is that many of the homes damaged during Operation Cast Lead belonged to terrorists or terror-enablers.

Hey don’t worry Israel, our President will provide the next 900 Million.

Just a reminder anyone who thinks that the rockets have stopped isn’t paying attention. I’m waiting to hear about the pacifist left forming a group of human shields to protect Sderot. Anyone? Bueller, Bueller.

…for the Obama administration to get this low:

The Obama team was not only silent on the new “Israel is racist” language, it also said nothing when faced with Holocaust denial. Negotiators from the European Union suggested on Wednesday a new provision to “condemn without reservation any denial of the Holocaust and urges all states to reject denial of the Holocaust as an historical event, either in full, or in part, or any activities to this end.” Iran–whose president is a Holocaust-denier–immediately objected and insisted that the proposal be “bracketed” or put in dispute. The move blocked the adoption of the proposal and ensured another battle over the reality of the Holocaust in April–at these supposedly “anti-racism” meetings. After Iran objected, the chair looked around the room, expecting a response. He said: “Is there any delegation wishing to comment on this new proposal by the European Union? It doesn’t seem the case. We move on.” U.S. delegates said nothing, even after the prompt.

The official US delegation of the Obama administration was not willing to officially object to Holocaust being in dispute. Can’t make Iran angry.

Since the Obama administration is not a Pseudo Bishop without actual standing in the Catholic Church I suspect the media will not jump on this at all, but the Arthur Carter Watch does:

We haven’t forgotten

Well with plane crashes and stimulus bills etc going on some things have been forgotten, but not by us:

A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck just south of the Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon as officials from the Hamas Islamic movement said they were close to signing a truce that would halt such attacks.

This was the second such strike today, after another rocket fired from Gaza struck an Israeli agricultural settlement this morning, according to an Israeli army spokesman speaking on customary condition of anonymity. There were no reported injuries in either incident, the first rocket attacks since the morning of Feb. 6, the army said.

You didn’t think that pulling back from Gaza was going to stop Hamas from trying to kill Jews did you?

Reuters being Reuters reports it with this headline:

Israel troops kill Palestinian teenager-medics

At Paragraph 5 we hear about the rockets. Some things never change do they?

I guess even the UN can learn

Amazing who would have thought it possible:

A UN agency said on Friday it halted aid imports into Gaza after hundreds of tonnes of food assistance were seized, but Hamas indicated the goods would be returned, saying the incident was a mistake.

“UNRWA has suspended all imports of aid into the Gaza Strip following the confiscation of hundreds of tonnes of food aid,” the UN agency for Palestinian refugees said.

And Hamas’ reaction? Who us?

“The aid supplies were loaded onto trucks by mistake as no government representative was present. The drivers did not know which supplies were UNRWA’s and which were the government’s.”

I suspect that this will be a blip and things will be back to normal shortly but you never know.
