[clears throat speaking to the Blackjack Hardy gang now on the Bank board] Gentleman we have about $40,000 in the safe now, in two weeks we could double it, in a month we could if this craze holds out we could triple it but There is just one thing that could stop us.
Blackjack Hardy:We’re listening.
Bart Maverick: If ah, anyone finds out that YOU [indicating blackjack] have anything to do with managing the bank I’m afraid I could never stop another run on it.
Blackjack Hardy:I’ll kill the first dirty varmint that opens his big yap!
Bart Maverick:Then you promise to stay in the background and let me run the bank? You want to vote on it?
Blackjack Hardy: [Indicating the rest of his gang on the board] They vote yes.
Bart Maverick:Ah, well in that case I’ll call a small temporary dividend let’s say $10,000 just enough to cover a small celebration party.
Little Sonny Hardy: Ten Thousand is a rather large dividend for a party isn’t it Mr. Maverick?

Maverick: A Technical Error 1961
Let’s start with some basic facts out of the way first.
Joe Biden, is corrupt pol, who has gotten rich off the government. He has milked his position all his life. He has stolen a national election to become President [with the quiet cooperation of those who could have stopped him but hated Donald Trump more than they loved their duty]. After the election he has used the office to enrich his allies and himself while persecuting his political enemies including grandmothers praying at Clinics and parents complaining at school board meetings and sent his justice department after faithful Catholics (which he claims to be) to be investigated as terrorists while allowing rampant lawlessness all over the country,
So let me get this straight, I’m supposed to get all excited and outraged and shocked when the guy I just described decides in the final days of this time in office, when he’s practically at death’s door, to issue a pardon to his son who has used his Father’s positions in government as Vice President and then President to shake down foreign business and to get people to “buy” his paintings” all the while kicking back the 10% to “the big guy”?
Seriously?
Now if he was an honest and honorable pol, who had given his life to the service of his country I could just be a little surprised if he had pardoned his corrupt son in his last days of office citing it as the only favor he asks of the land that he had served faithfully for half a century.
But this crook? Why on earth would I or anyone else be surprised at this corrupt lying bastard acting as a corrupt lying bastard. In terms of harm to the office and the country this is likely one of the mildest things he has done.
The only surprise I have is that he didn’t pardon himself as well.
Update: You know I’d bet real money that there are plenty of people in the Biden Administration complicit in crimes that might have hoped to be part of a blanket pardon issued by the president before Trump takes office on the grounds of preventing said administration to practicing “lawfare” against them. The media would have fully backed something like this.
Alas I suspect that such a pardon will not happen not because in Joe Biden eyes they are guilty of a much greater crime, complicity in forcing him off the Democrat ticket.
Chicago is descending to anarchy, and it’s not just because of the shootings.
There are also Mad Max style “street takeovers” for Chicagoans to cope with on a regular basis.
Last night, CWB Chicago reports, there were several street takeovers. And at one of them, two people were shot.
So sometimes shootings and street takeovers are synchronous.
Street takeovers generally consist of domestic muscle cars meeting at predetermined gathering spots–social media gives the when and where–and the where is also always on a main thoroughfare. The street takeovers aren’t 1950s-style cruise night parades, the sports cars engage in such dangerous and possibly deadly activities and as drag racing, drifting and spinning donuts.
Chicago street takeovers happen about once a month, although the establishment local media tends to ignore them. For the most part, the cops just watch the cars drift. Last night was different because, as once again CWB Chicago tells us. Bricks were thrown at one Southwest Side street takeover and at another Southwest Side motorized mayhem rally, multiple objects at police officers.
I’ve never been a cop, but it’s pretty easy to ascertain how to end them–in Chicago and elsewhere.
The next time there is a street takeover, cops should just place spike strips on the offended streets. The car will end up with flat tires and possibly damaged wheels and a ruined suspension, but who cares? Driving is a privilege, as we know, not a right. And reckless driving is a crime. And streets are built and paid for by taxpayers for responsible transportation, not dangerous stunts.
Yes, the jackals who attend these might throw more objects at the law enforcement officers who lay down the strips–so cops working to reestablish order need to where riot gear–but word will get out, quickly, on social media of course, that the streets of Chicago are no longer open for street takeovers.
I’m eagerly awaiting the first insurance company to decline a claim on a car damaged during a street takeover.
Yes, speed strips are an easy solution.
Apparently, the CPD owns some spike strips. Two years ago, ABC Chicago reported that a pilot project to use spike strips to combat street takeovers–but apparently this project was grounded.
But will Chicago’s pro-criminal mayor, Brandon Johnson, allow it? He’s an apologist for Chicago’s lawbreakers. For instance, while mayor-elect last year, “Branjo” dismissed a downtown riots, saying that kids make “silly decisions.”
This was supposed to be the 3rd straight 10 hour day at work but alas things were quiet enough that I ended up going home at 1 pm, which costs me overtime and bodes ill for hour for the rest of the year.
I was able to get home in time to watch the New England Patriots. As of this moment the Colts are up and while as of this writing the game is up in the air thanks to 4 holding penalties a missed kick and an almost impossible interception there is no question that the Patriots will finish with one of the worst if not THE worst record in the NFL.
Those are the bits of bad news.
The good is that this is the last year of the Biden administration and I suspect next year the economy will be rolling at such a pace that I won’t have a lot of time for Sunday football or anything else once Thanksgiving rolls around.
Furthermore while this will be a bad year for the Patriots there is absolutely no question that Drake Maye is the real thing and once they give him some tools on offense and a better offensive line (and with a high draft pick and no need to get a QB next season it’s very possible they can fill both needs via trade in one season) the Patriots will be producing quality football perhaps all the way to my retirement and beyond.
With the good young talent on the Redsox and a Celtics Championship team that has dynasty written all over it I suspect I might be watching championship level talent year round for the rest of my life.

Frankly I think surgery over an election not going your way is much crazier than shouting at a lake but at least these people sterilizing themselves are adults who are of age.
