I talked to Jim Henderson candidate independent candidate for Sec of state on Saturday

There are a lot of 3rd party candidates all over the place and it looks like they might be getting some unexpected help. But actually it’s the oldest tactic in the book, but will it stop the big red wave?

Anyone who tells me that no election in Massachusetts is leaning GOP isn’t paying attention to stuff like this:

“You can call me an insider, but (Beacon Hill lawmakers) treat me like an outsider a lot of the time,” Patrick said during a wide-ranging interview with Herald editors and reporters yesterday. “We have differences. Some of them are sharp, most of them principled — but nonetheless we’ve been able to deliver the most productive legislative session in 30 years.”

Amid a throw-the-bums-out clamor and saddled with low job-approval ratings, Patrick worked to distance himself from State House leaders and even his own party — welcoming Scott Brown backers and invoking his battle with Democratic House Speaker Robert DeLeo over racinos as proof that he’s taken on the Democratic establishment.

When the democratic governor of the bluest state you can find is making the case that is an outsider and fighting the democratic establishment then Mr. Cook, start moving your races!

Via Glenn who I hope wasn’t drinking when he read it.

Stacy & I interviewed Sean Bielat at his Newton hq:

Byebyebarney.org is the moneybomb site and feel free to spread a little for Bill Gunn in Ma-1 to retire John Olver, Tom Wesley in ma-2 to retire Richard Neal and Marty Lamb in ma-3 to retire Jim McGovern as well! They don’t build robots but send them some love ace

Update: The link for byebyebarney was right but it said .com instead of the correct .org, my bad

yet MSNBC is falling into the trap playing the ad again and again. They don’t get it at all.

Stacy McCain is exactly right about this

Forget the words. Just turn off the sound and look at it. The moment she flashes that first smile, the average person likes her. They can’t help it. It’s an autonomic response.

Whether “I like her” translates into “I want her to be Senator,” I can’t say. But we’ve recently elected a president whose chief politic assets are a resonant baritone voice and a vague resemblance to the Allstate man, so I think it unwise to underestimate the superficiality of voters in the Age of Image.

Morning Joe today has been playing the ad

The Morning Joe crowd is laughing their heads off. I’m sorry they have no clue. If I’m O’Donnell I’m playing the clip of them laughing at her at every rally there is. That clip of the Morning Joe team laughing at her is a fundraiser waiting to happen.

Memo to the left and MSNBC if your argument is “this person is a lunatic” the best plan is not to play an ad the screams “normal”.
