My review of Mary Lefkowitz book: History Lesson: A Race Odyssey is available at Amazon.com here.

You will not that I wrote this review a bit ago. Normally I write Amazon reviews during the week and schedule them on weekend but I was otherwise engaged so this weekend I’m linking to some of my older reviews of various things you might have missed.

You will also note that I tagged this review with “Still Angry Left”. When you read this book you will understand why.

Doctor Who short trips 3 days left

Apparently Big Finish has for whatever reason lost it’s license to continue to sell their Doctor Who Hardcover Book Series called Short Trips. On the 1st of the year they are required to destroy their entire stock.

So as they don’t want to be stuck with their books they are selling what they have left at pretty hefty discounts. Even with Shipping to the US each volume they have left sells for $9.77 each. (the compilation volume double sized is $20.35). Of the 29 volumes 19,23,26,27 and 28 are sold out from Big Finish. No word on what the remaining stock is for the rest.

So if you want some nice original Doctor Who tales before they become recycled material, here is your chance to score some at a deal.

After the 1st of the year or if you want a volume they are out of there is always Mike’s comics.

Now excuse me while I go back to bed.

To Try Men’s Souls: Amazon vine Review

to try men's soulsMy Amazon vine review of Newt Gingrich’s and Gingrich and William Forstchen work of Historical Fiction: To Try Men’s Souls: A Novel of George Washington and the Fight for American Freedom is available at Amazon.com here.

Unlike his Civil War volumes where we have an alternate history, this one is a pure historical fiction focused on some of the famous and not so famous people who made history on that cold Christmas evening.

This book will be released October 20th.

escapefromhell1My review of the Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle’s novel
Escape from Hell
the sequel to his work from the 70’s Inferno is available at Amazon.com here.

One thing you will find in the book that I didn’t mention in the review is the amount of red meat there is for conservatives like myself. From professional victims to the sympathizers to radical feminists, radical environmentalists we see them all. If you are on the right you can’t help but like this book. For the left there is J. Edgar Hoover converted to a demon named Pink Talon. I have to admit that was really funny.

This is very much worth your money. I’d advise picking up Inferno first.
