This is the first in a series of posts to give you a feel of the PEOPLE at the convention.

A lot of people will be writing about the celebs at CPAC but a lot of the most interesting stories are the regular folks who have come here.

So lets start with the proprietor of No Runny Eggs blog who was the first to consent to an interview.

More are coming!

Fedoras and Cannoli in Virginia

I’ve have arrived at Casa di Smitty which is a rather beautiful home that is very TARDIS like in the sense that it is much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside.

I have unpacked and hope to get to the hotel to register tonight so I can get right into blogging when I get there tomorrow.

As you can see even more important that my safe arrival has been the safe arrival of the Cannoli and the Fedora’s Stacy has already claimed one and Smitty seems to have found a second that is a perfect fit which unfortunately only leaves me with one to loan out during the conference (there are only so many Fedoras you can fit in a suitcase.)

I’m totally ignorant of today’s events and will try to catch up and get some blogging done before I hit the sack tonight. A lot to see and do so I’m going to get cracking.

Update: Now I know what Smitty is doing downstairs. So much for the surprise tomorrow.

…and the suitcase is almost ready, I need the camera for the City Counsel meeting tonight but apart from that and maybe a game or two I should be pretty good.

And how do you pack Fedoras for travel, why in a Hatbox of course

Stacy has asked me to take the soft Fedora he wore up here, I am including that and two others along with what I’m wearing. The cannoli will be carry on as will the laptop.

We are getting a bit of snow up here but that doesn’t compare to the avalanche of e-mails that have poured in since the CPAC e-mail list was started. An awful lot to sort through.

I still have to figure out which events to cover, there seems to be more going on than I can attend but we’ll see.
