There are a lot of great things about the latest offering from Mayim Bialik at her youtube channel titled: I’m A Stay-At-Home Mom…Again!

It’s full of great insights, the details of basic life, the tasks of a mother of young sons, the repetitiveness and ordinariness of mother’s average day, but it’s the realization of what she has changed in her relationship with her two sons in the ten years that she was not home that really struck a chord with me.

Before I was Amy Farah Fowler, our relationship was like “Momma help me survive!” and I was like “OK I will, that’s what I live for.” and it’s not like that anymore. So what is life after the big bang theory, it’s terrifying because I worry that I’ve missed the most tender time of their lives. I’ve missed that transition from being everything to whatever I find that I am now.

Now don’t get me wrong, she talks about the value of the current relationship and how the job she has now as a stay at home mom is “…the most secure job in the universe.” But Think about what she said there.

For decades I have heard Feminism decry the culture of nurture that a stay at home mom provided, how it was holding women back and that it wasn’t as fulfilling as a career while not recognizing what that job brought or if spending 40 hours in a warehouse away from their young kids is more fulfilling that watching them grow up.

Even more important those who have sold and still sell feminism didn’t take into account the costs of the sexual “empowerment” that they pitched. The vast majority of women don’t have the education of Bialik nor the financial independence that was provided by nearly a decade on the most popular comedy in the nation that allows her to function as a single divorced mother at home without worrying about how the bills are going to be paid.

Many of those women are stuck between the reality of proving for a child without the support of a man or finding themselves alone never having that knowledge of being the most important person in the world to someone during their lifetime.

The joys she was talking about were once known to society having been learned over centuries of experience, but to the post sixties generation that threw them away in the certain belief that they knew better than those to came before them and the generations of today who have had to live in the world that 60’s generation crated Ms. Bialik’s video is a revelation.

May they take this newfound knowledge and apply it wisely.

When I was a kid in the days before comic books became “woke” DC used to put out a book called Weird War Tales which consisted of short horror/sci-fi stories in a war/battle setting. There was one story that jumped to mind after reading Stacy McCain’s latest post on Ella Dawson.

A GI stationed in England training to be part of the D-Day invasion is absolutely terrified at the prospect dying during the landings. The Devil appears to him and says that he can protect him from death but only on one day. The GI sells his soul screaming “D-Day, don’t let me die on D-Day!” The Devil agrees and departs.

In the landing craft he finds himself supremely confident and when a German MG is pinning down his squad, he, to the shock of everyone else who remembered his fears, rushes forward and takes it out but is riddled to pieces.

As he lay dying the Devil appears and he accuses him of reneging on the deal. The Devil replies that this is not D-Day and as he does the GI overhears two officers standing next discussing a posthumous decoration for him noting that thanks to him, this probing raid in preparation for D-Day was a success.

You see for 30 years condoms have been pointed to as a life saver and pushed as such but as Stacy points out in his article:

Let’s quote her inspirational prose:

“I received the message loud and clear that girls who were sexual, girls who wanted sex, girls who were aggressive and talkative and confident, were those girls. . . .
“I did the bitter calculus of being a teenage girl and decided to embrace my destined and disdained sluttiness. I even made up a superhero identity for myself: Whorella.”

It was not just random coincidence, you see, that she was diagnosed with genital herpes during her junior year at Wesleyan. The law of large numbers and her own ignorance (condoms don’t prevent herpes or HPV) made it more or less inevitable that “Whorella” would catch something.

Stacy is right on the money when concerning the law of large numbers and disease. The more people you have sex with the larger the odds that you will catch something and if you are in a college in a large pool of mostly drunk people hooking up the odds of avoiding VD aren’t good.

There is a more important point than the foolishness of the young and stupid.  It’s even more important than carrying over said stupidity beyond one’s college years, it’s a point that I never tire of making and it has to do with Christianity.

One the the results of the west’s abandonment of the laws of God is the loss of the benefits of said laws, benefits that were meant for the good of those who follow them not for the benefit of God.    (Or do you think that all those rules given by God to the Jewish people about washing hands and vessels millennia before we knew that it was the easiest way to prevent disease was a coincidence?)

God’s rules on sex are very simple.  No sex before marriage and once married no sex outside of marriage, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, open marriages, etc they’re all out.  Now if you’re a fan of sex in general, and lets face if most of us are, or if you’re a fan of  fornication, adultery, homosexuality open marriages etc etc etc in particular you might not like those rules and it’s quite understandable that many rebel against them.

However it doesn’t change the fact that if you follow those rules and your spouse does as well the odds of you catching any venereal disease are as close to zero as you can get and it goes without saying that abstinence from sex outside of marriage for married people is far more effective in preventing AIDS & HIV than the best condom money can or any potential treatment or “cure” that we have spend Billions of dollars trying to find.

Stacy & I both come from a generation that still understood that God’s laws were a shield to protect us, not a yoke to oppress.  Ms Dawson comes from a generation that doesn’t.  That’s why it’s imperative for us to go on the record now so that these basic facts, supported by centuries of experience can survive us.

Oh and pray for Ms. Dawson and folks like her and don’t get too caught up about her mistakes when you do.  Remember the wisdom of Christ in Luke 6:37-38

Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.

Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.”

PRIMARY SITE UPDATE: You’ll note that there are still a few posts going up on the main site with links videos etc. That’s because before my problems came up I was on a bit of a writing roll and saved pieces with links and video are still working.

The estimate and timetable for moving the site is still not in from my 1st choice but if you want to help defray the costs (I’m guessing $700-1000 but I don’t know for sure) I would highly appreciate it.

Kim Davis on being released from jail & a leftist pounding on the doors of the Supreme Court

As I’ve been watching the left continue its violent push to make the rest of us comply with their demands and the craziness of their Kavanaugh stuff to the point where we actually had a Democrat editor justifying the shooting of Steve Scalise as the natural consequence of his votes.

Seeing all this I couldn’t help but think of the contrast between their actions and those of Kim Davis.

For those of you who have forgotten Kim Davis is the former Democrat who refused to issue gay marriage licences with her name on them in Kentucky when the Supreme Court imposed Gay Marriage overriding the laws of her state and others.

She sought compromise, her opponents would have none of it:

Davis didn’t seek publicity, those who choose to force her hand did, as marriage licences were available just a few miles away. Even as the country’s media and elites demonized her and pundit after pundit attacked her she went to court to defend her position citing her religious beliefs seeking a compromise that would allow her to function without her name being on marriage certificates.

She was threatened with jail, and accepted it:

On Thursday the judge in the case gave her one last chance to fold her card, she declined saying it was a heaven or hell issue to her. So the judge had her jailed, meanwhile four of her five deputies agreed to issue the licences to gay couples as he commanded and on Friday began doing so.

And did so without anger or hate

Kim Davis has gone to jail without fear, without complaint. She did not scream defiant curses, she did not call for violence in her name. Her only worry was disobedience to the Lord.

And when the courts decided that she should be freed how did she react

Kim’s Davis’ entire speech was about God and serving him and thanks and love for her supporters.

No critique of the judge, no anger over her imprisonment, no fancy words about the political irony of a bunch of Republicans defending an elected democrat. No talk about the likelihood of her being re-imprisoned. Everything completely consistent with the dignity of the stand she took for the sake of her soul and others.

And when offered muscle to protect her from all those who were threatening her in person and online she declined:

Given her situation the offer of armed protection must have been attractive, she has been vilified and hated not only by the left for her principled stand but by some on the right objecting to her civil disobedience on law and order grounds. How easy would it have been for her to accept this offer of protection. How comforting might it have been to know people considered her so important they were willing to fight for her. How tempting.

I’m pleased to say she did not give into this temptation:

Oath Keepers has been contacted by Kim Davis’ legal team at Liberty Counsel, and they have, on her behalf, declined our offer of assistance in protecting her from a possible repeat incarceration by Federal District Court judge David Bunning. We will, of course, respect her wishes, and are hereby issuing a stand-down for our security volunteers who were planning on deploying to Morehead, Kentucky on Monday.

She didn’t even fire or critique her deputies who issued the licences that she would not:

Now the last thing the left could hope for was that she would fire her deputies, allowing them to attack her for demanding a conscience exception while not allowing her subordinates to do the same.

Alas poor leftists, that was not to be:

Before starting her workday, Davis appeared defiant, saying she will not issue any marriage licenses that go against her religious beliefs. But she left the door open for her deputies to continue giving out marriage licenses to same-sex couples as long as those documents do not have Davis’ name or title on them.

The marriage license that the couple received said “pursuant to federal court order” on it, and instead of listing Davis’ name and Rowan County, it says city of Morehead, the county seat.

Her willingness to stand without violent confrontation, taking the penalties prescribed by law and not attack those who went after her had a salutary result at the ballot box:

Alas for our liberal friends the voters of Kentucky clearly knew which side they were on too and it wasn’t close

Bevin was able to defy pundits, political insiders and polling — including one released by his own campaign in October that showed him losing — and emerge a winner Tuesday night.

In the end, it wasn’t even close. Bevin won 107 of the state’s 120 counties on his way to a nine-point victory.

Who made the compromise she sought a legal reality

“To ensure that the sincerely held religious beliefs of all Kentuckians are honored, I took action to revise the clerk marriage license form,” Bevin said in a statement.

Davis’s team was delighted:

“This is a wonderful Christmas gift for Kim Davis,” the group said. “Kim can celebrate Christmas with her family knowing she does not have to choose her public office and her deeply-held religious convictions.”

I think driving Kim Davis from the Democrat party will cost them for decades to come.

And in the final irony David Ermold one of the men who forced the confrontation that sent her to jail ran couldn’t even win the Democrat primary to unseat her despite a ton of money from bigtime liberals

A gay Kentucky man who was denied a marriage license by Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis nearly three years ago has lost his bid to unseat her.

David Ermold had been seeking the Democratic nomination for county clerk in Tuesday’s primary in Rowan County, Kentucky. Though Ermold’s high-profile campaign raised more than $200,000 from supporters, including donations from Amy Schumer and Susan Sarandon, he lost to challenger Elwood Caudill Jr. in the four-way primary, the Lexington Herald-Reader reports

and liberals in the press are still angry, particularly as she has a book out:

Holier-than-thou public figures such as Gov. Matt Bevin, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and evangelist Franklin Graham rallied to Davis’ cause. Those three have now written promotional blurbs for her book, which has the arrogant title, “Under God’s Authority.”

“When history called upon Kim, she was both ready and willing to respond,” Bevin wrote. “Will the same be said of you?”

Pardon me while I pound my fist.

if she’s pounding her face now wait till Kim Davis gets re-elected again.

You know it was a lot easier when we were able to just call Democrats the Harvey Weinstein / Kevin Spacey Left.

Now we have to call them the Bill Clinton / Harvey Weinstein / Kevin Spacey / Al Franken / Charlie Rose / Glenn Thrush / Oliver Stone / John Coyners / Jeffrey Tambor left.

Given the way things are going it all reminds me of this scene from the hilarious movie from 1961 One Two Three.

Peripetchikoff: Look my young friend, I don’t want to be name dropper but what do you think Khrushchev did to Malenkov? What do you think Stalin did to Trotsky

Otto Piffl: Is everybody in this world corrupt?

Peripetchikoff: I don’t know everybody.

As Glenn Reynolds put it:

Now we can see why lefty media folks think America is a “rape culture:” The part of America they inhabit is.

I make the over/under for the number of new liberals losing jobs or being suspended for sexual issues before the end of the year at six. I’ll play the over.
