Speaking of seeing what you want to see here is the headline from Channel 12 news:

Professor Dies After Stabbing at Binghamton University

And the story that followed:

A Binghamton University professor is dead tonight after being stabbed by an anthropology student.

It happened around 1:45 pm Friday in the Science 1 Building on campus.

This is video of the hallway where the incident happened.

A witness tells Action News that an older male graduate student entered the office of professor Richard Antoun and then stabbed him.

A seemingly senseless murder but lets look at another headline on the same subject from a different source:

Saudi Arabian student charged with killing prof

And the story:

A Binghamton University graduate student from Saudi Arabia was charged with killing a professor emeritus in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies.

Abdulsalam al-Zahrani was charged Saturday with stabbing to death Richard Antoun last Friday in his office at the update New York university.

Broome County District Attorney Gerald Mollen said in a statement that there is no indication of a religious or ethnic motivation, according to reports.

Antoun, 77, had conducted research in Jordan, Lebanon and Iran, according to reports.

What is the connection? Mark Steyn provides it:

Another Case of PTSD?

…and this time the poor guy’s not even in the military! From Channel 12 WBNG:

A Binghamton University professor is dead tonight after being stabbed by an anthropology student.

That’s one way of putting it. Another is that Abdulsalam Al-Zahrani killed Richard T Antoun, author of Understanding Fundamentalism: Christian, Islamic and Jewish Movements.

What is amazing is many of the same people who insist Global Warming is a clear and present danger look at the repeated evidence of the dangers of radical Islamists and discount it utterly.

The story doesn’t rate a mention on memeorandum, Pam Geller noticed, but then again she always does and makes this observation concerning the murder of this convert to Judaism:

There will be no coverage of this, yet again. If it were a white guy killing a black professor, or a Jewish guy killing a muslim, they would be clubbing us like baby seals with it.

Take a look at the photo, this wasn’t some kid either this guy was MY age. No wonder the Yale people are terrified.

Three choices: submit, convert or die. If you aren’t going to resist, then make your choice.

Update: Michelle discovers it today in my own local paper (we have two), no word on why it’s in the “money” section.

Update 2: Just had lunch at the Diner at the corner. It was on the front page of the print edition.

MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell on Sarah Palin to a 17 year old Palin supporter:

“Did you know that Sarah Palin supported the bailout?…So, Sarah Palin was for the bailout…She’s against the stimulus, but during the campaign, she was for the bailout, as was John McCain.”

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski this morning on Morning Joe concerning Joe Biden doing the network circuit supporting the president’s Afghanistan decision that he personally opposes:

“That is the job of a Vice President”

How ’bout that. The duties of a VP have changed in under two weeks!

I guess this can be Charles Plan C if his other stuff doesn’t work:

Mary Katharine Ham, in the Weekly Standard, is the latest to blast Huffington Post for its practice of drumming up hits with NSFW pictures of naked and semi-naked women:

Ham’s post is here. Kaus gets the exact answer right on the second try

This sort of argument seems open to the response Robert Nozick made when defending doctors who are in it for the money (as opposed to healing the sick). They’re not doctors, you say? OK. Let’s call them schmoctors. They are fulfilling the Aristotelian purpose of schmoctoring, which is to make a lot of money by treating people.

It’s all about the hits, Comcast, Verizon et/al make good money off their x-rated stuff that pays for other things. Do you think that all those hotels offer XXX stuff on pay per view as something to do. It makes money!

Arianna Huffington may have more European sensibilities but the bottom line is she is selling hits. The volume and the relevance that her voice is allowed in the “salons” of the political hallways is based upon those hits. If she goes the way of Air America she might get polite acknowledgment but not respect. She needs those hits and a weekly link from Robert Stacy every Sunday isn’t going to do it.

As with the Palin stuff “feminists” are channeling the Godfather:

Arianna Huffington: Where does it say that you can’t go after a woman?
Tina Brown: Come on, Arianna…
Arianna Huffington: Tina, wait a minute. I’m talking about a woman that’s mixed up in conservatism. I’m talking about a – a – a anti-abortion woman – a republican woman who got mixed up with Rush and Beck and got what was coming to her. That’s a terrific story. And we have media people, like Katie & Norah on the payroll, don’t we, Tina?
[Tina nods]
Arianna Huffington: And they might like a story like that.
Tina Brown: They might, they just might.
Arianna Huffington: [to Kim Gandy] It’s not personal, Kim. It’s strictly business.

It’s not misogyny Mary Katherine, it’s strictly business, although I think Dr Violet would disagree.

…but the Gladney charges took the cake.

And the Post Dispatch’s headline is laughable:

Six charged in town hall disturbance

Town Hall disturbance. Town hall DISTURBANCE!

Let me remind you a bit of what I wrote IN AUGUST!

Yesterday Black conservatives protested in front of the St. Louis office of the NAACP to protest their non response to the attacks on Ken Gladney back on the 6th.

Mind you this is a man who was beaten and called a Nigger by a white man, there is some raw film too and the news and film was spread on the net that very day. Nothing.

The delightful Dana Loesch of Dump Dede fame noting the time taken and the incorrect information says this:

If only we had access to a network wherein we could share information, do research, and confirm articles in our stories …

Where is Kenneth Gladney and Kelly Owens’ suds summit? Oh, right. The police have to be perceived as the antagonist for that to work and the victims admin supporters, apparently.

Let me be blunt: If I as a person who had attended a tea party, a person who would gladly support Sarah Palin for higher office and who publicly shows agreement with the president’s political foes had done the same as these SEIU men I would be in jail now, my picture would be all over the news an commentators all over MSNBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, NBC, BET, UNIVISION et/al would be having long discourses on how Tea Parties and Sarah Palin drive people to racism. My black friends would disown me and I would be the subject of public and private scorn. All the country would all know my name and curse it.

The fact that a whole season has passed before we have reached this point is a national disgrace, John Hinderaker and Glenn Reynolds puts it succinctly:

JOHN HINDERAKER WONDERS why SEIU thugs enjoy more freedom of action than Navy SEALS. Because the SEIU thugs are advancing the goals of people in power?

But I flatter myself that my long explanation is pretty good too:

to an organization like the NAACP it doesn’t matter. Barak Obama is the first black president of the United States and the first black president (no matter who he would have been) can’t be allowed to fail for fear that Americans will consider a black man unqualified for the highest office in the land. And if Ken Gladney needs to be beaten, called a Nigger and put in his place to help prevent that failure so be it.

The problem is that they are looking at President Obama and what drives him backwards. He’s not a Black man who happened to be part of the Chicago Machine. He is a Chicago Machine Pol who happens to be black and THAT makes all the difference.

The tactics he uses and the items he supports are driven by that machine background. His race doesn’t mean squat, that’s why the Gladney story isn’t all over the news. If what happened to Gladney advances his goals, like a good machine pol he’s all for it.

It’s all about protecting their meal ticket in chief
