8:09 a.m. John Shadegg is nailing congress big time.

8:11 a.m. “One of the things about the new media is we can see the clips of Barney actually saying there is nothing wrong with Fannie & Freddy.” You want a leader of the republican party here it is.

The outrage comes but that is the bill we HAD to pass.

6:08 a.m. The argument to justify the Bonus’ is being made. It reminds me of a 50 year old family fight over a piece of property.

6:14 a.m. Might as well have fun when you are the white house press secretary. Just remember we boys never truly grow up.

6:18 a.m. The Seattle PI decided to insult half of their potential customers, so I’m not going to cry a tear. This is not being mentioned by anyone on this show.

6:21 a.m. A contract is a contract is a contract of course if we let them going into bankruptcy then the contract could have been broken

7:26 a.m. “I’m all in favor of dissidents I’m not in favor of criminals!” That is the best statement I’ve ever heard a secretary of state make. Kudos for Mrs. Clinton for saying it out loud!

7:49 a.m. Maria of the beautiful Italian eyes (sigh) regretfully admits that the bonus have to be paid due to contract. No Italian American like myself can look at eyes like that and not melt.

Copying a Bush mistake

At the start of the Bush administration to keep a political promise the president imposed tarriff on foreign steel. This created retaliation and trouble until they were removed.

The Obama administration has made the same mistake in terms of Truck safety and Mexico is hitting back:

A long-simmering trade dispute boiled over into sanctions on Monday after Mexico said it would raise tariffs on $2.4bn of US exports in retaliation for ending a pilot programme to allow Mexican trucks on American roads.

This has been stewing for a while:

Mexico said it would increase tariffs on 90 industrial and agricultural goods, likely to include politically sensitive farm products, after Congress last week killed a pilot programme allowing a limited number of Mexican trucks on American highways. Mexico obtained a judicial ruling in 2001 under the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta) allowing it to impose such sanctions, but has held off since the US introduced the pilot scheme.

Trade wars are never pretty and anything that costs jobs and the Mexican tariff’s will should be avoided at a time like this.

Earmarks? Last years business. AIG?

Dissenting Justice notices something interesting about the administration and AIG:

The price of the earmarks dwarfs the value of AIG’s bonuses, but the Obama administration told critics of earmarks that the budget was “last year’s” business. The banking bailout — or TARP — was actually enacted last year, unlike the omnibus budget. As you witness the federal government condemn AIG, consider the source of the outrage.

He then asks the question:

Is the federal government’s sudden outrage sincere or false?

If you have to ask you know the answer.

Update: Via Glenn VDH is mystified at Barney Frank wanted to bring up AIG with his own corrupt connections. I’m not mystified at all. The media won’t touch him and he knows it so why would he be the least bit worried? As long as the mainstream media doesn’t report his conflicts they never happened.
