Maybe it’s the Sicilian (we are big into family) in me but I think it’s tacky that there are still deportation hearings on the president’s aunt.
Cripes if a local cop and fix a ticket for a friend the president should be able to let his aunt stay, there have to be some privileges for the office.
If it was before he was elected that would be one thing but I think it’s tacky for the president’s aunt to be kicked out.
All of that being said the president should pardon the aunt and be done with it, but if the lawyer for the president’s aunt filed a motion to delay proceedings until after he leaves office I wouldn’t have an issue with it…
…after all why should she escape the miserable condition that her nephew will leave the country in?
You know like many I have a soft spot for Joe Biden. He has been wrong on most foreign policy issues for over 35 years, but there is something about him that just hits you as right. He was clearly the most qualified candidate on the democratic side and would be a far better president (don’t laugh) than our current one.
That being said the story concerning his daughter is news and can’t be suppressed particularly since the act is illegal, but I think it’s an ugly one.
As the father of teenage sons this could be any one of us. I trust I’ve taught my kids well enough to avoid this idiocy but you just never know. The partisan in me remembers the sensitivity that the left showed Governor Palin’s and her teenage daughter in a difficult time but the parent in me has to trump it. I feel bad for old Joe but the daughter is an adult you can only teach them right and hope for the best. If they want to be idiots when they are grown no power on earth is going to stop them.
If a law has been broken it has to be enforced particularly when involving the daughter of the VP, but anyone who shows delight in this kind of think has never been a parent worried about their kids.
Update: Looks like Don Surber and Captain Ed are a lot smarter than me. I do feel happy for Joe, he has enough on his plate already.
…and the wife wants the place spotless. This is going to be an interesting afternoon.
