One year later, thanks for stopping by.

And a lot has happened in that time (unfortunately a job hasn’t been one of them) I’ve written a lot of stuff (just under 2000 posts), met some new people and vented my spleen quite a bit.

I’m no Instapundit, Hotair or any kind of big blog, but to the tens of thousands who have visited and have either stayed or quickly left let me say it’s been a pleasure to share my thought and my year with you. May they next year treat us all well.

Happy Thankgiving to all

There is a lot to be thankful for despite yesterday’s disappointment. We are keeping up with the bills, the kids are doing ok. My friend George’s daughter is out of the Hospital, my family in general is doing well or at least no worse and most of the annoyances of life are simply that.

There is a lot that I tend to go on about here on the blog, things that are annoying and just wrong with the country but despite it all America has been and continues to be very good to all of us. For all our problems we it’s still a wonderful life full of little blessing that when taken in all overrides the the annoyances of life.

May our problems and disagreements over things like politics and religion never let us forget how lucky we all are to have each other, the freedom to disagree and debate and the bounty that America has made possible.

A Happy Thanksgiving to one and all and to those of you who know me personally, let me unofficially say, Keep Saturday Jan 2nd open.

Update and an FYI: I’m not blogging any politics today, it will be a day full of Amazon Reviews Two more Big Finish reviews at least will be up with a 3rd I’m writing now and a 4th that is written but for some reason hasn’t posted yet on Amazon. My long awaited review of Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue has been written but hasn’t posted either. If it makes it up today I’ll schedule a link to it.

Just back from the interview…

…the job seems fascinating and the devices involved are pretty cool. Ironically it is less than 5 min from my first job out of college.

I could be totally wrong but I don’t think it went well. I was asking all the questions. If they were more interested in me I suspect they would have asked more.

Hopefully I’m wrong because it does appear to be a job that I would enjoy doing and the pay is certainly right, but we’ll see.

I am so Linuxed out…

I’ve spent a good chunk of my waking hours doing online linux courses and studying. I have linux on the brain and am very tired.

Tomorrow I re-open my unemployment claim and maybe manage lunch with the wife, beyond that there are a pair of broken cars needing fixing (only the dough to fix one for now) and an interview to keep preparing for (no game night for me this week). Oh and I have to swap out a power supply on a pc when I get the chance.

The good news is since there is no chance of me not waiting at the unemployment office I’ll likely finish the Palin book tomorrow morning but I’m about as mentally tired as one can get.

I sure hope nothing exciting happens in the next 24 hours politically, I wouldn’t know what to write.

I blogged a bit yesterday morning before and after mass but today I just don’t know.
