After 528 miles today (actually more since I hit Gettysburg on the way) and over 1200+ miles over 70 hours ( since 3 a.m. Sunday ) I’m home at last.
I’ll be doing a quick summery post and I’m still working on an examiner column, but for now, as promised I made it back for the boy’s 17th birthday.
Thanks all of you for reading, will likely be blogging a bit light as I catch up on sleep.
I’ve delivered Stacy McCain to his home at about 1:30 A.M. about 3 hours after he hoped to be there but we got great material from pa-10 and local party guys kept showing up to meet us so how could we leave?
My basic plan is to get up around 7, blog a tiny bit and then hit va-11, then a Heritage blog event , lunch with a pal then start back north with an idea of getting home by midnight or to divide the trip maybe hit another house race and find a hotel, motel, k of C or a friendly blogger to crash with in Maybe Conn or NY.
All that will be determined by when I wake up ready to roll so I’ll read you all later
…but I’d like to thank everyone who has hit the tip jar this weekend, that managed to pay for the rental and Stacy has been hitting the Gas so that has covered the trip.
Not to mention a huge thank you to the Lonely conservative and her husband who are slightly less lonely since they are allowing Stacy and I not only Crash but allowing us to snarf their internet to allow us to post.
Finally as I was writing this post I found out that my wife’s Aunt Shirley just died today. She single-handedly saved out honeymoon when Citi Travel didn’t take care of our booking. She and Uncle Bob gave us the use of their guest house and their spare car and the money we saved became the down payment for our house.
We can never repay her for that kindness and we will never forget.
