Am I the only person watching Morning Joe today who notices the massive hypocrisy today?

They spend the whole first segment hitting Jim DeMint for calling Harry Reid’s Christmas move “Sacrilegious” and insist that he should apologize to Reid for “insulting his religion”.

Yet they tease an acrobat act before the pope as “Chippendale” and jokes are made about how “the Pope likes them more than the nuns” and about “ripped men”.

I guess Morning Joe has a flexible definition on what is “insulting” a religion. Calling Harry Reid out for extending the session though Christmas offensive to religion Homoerotic jokes about the leader of one billion Catholics all in good fun. The panel practically couldn’t contain their delight in the 2nd hour.

Why the difference? Because the MSNBC audience likes one but not the other and yes Joe if you want to call for an apology from DeMint how about an on air apology from yourself first, because I guarantee I’m going to call you out on my Christmas Day Radio show if you make one more call for DeMint to apologize without apologizing yourself.

The second piece is even more ridiculous. They are hitting DeMint because of the idea of working through Christmas, they are talking about the troops and bringing up e-mails from nurses etc about how “they work on holidays suck it up” forgetting that the democrats could have brought all of this stuff up BEFORE the lame duck session.

That’s isn’t the double standard, the double standard is the news media. This year Christmas and New Years is on a Saturday so it doesn’t apply so much but how many of these media guys take holidays off? the 4th of July is Monday this year. Let’s see if they have guest hosts. In fact this year I will check CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC, FOX and MSNBC and see how many of the crew who are so self-righteous this morning are hard at work.

Update: They went there again at the top of the hour right after homoerotic pope jokes again. Fine! I formally request an apology over the Pope stuff. I guarantee this will be a top on my Christmas Radio show on the War on The Church and the War on Christmas.

Update 2: Instalanche! Welcome all, come and take a peek. Check out Massachusetts Republicans rearming here. Lets play some word games and find out why Sarah Palin and the tea party are driving the lame duck session. Check out the latest episode of DaTechGuy on DaRadio which featured Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugs and Bob Belvedere of Camp of the Saints for the full hour. Make sure you check out this week’s show at 9 p.m. EST on 830 AM WCRN when our guests will be Dan Riehl for the full hour with special guest the Right Wing Gamer! And please patronize our advertisers of Christmas who make the show and me paying my mortgage possible.

If the ACLU is all bent out of shape over saying Merry Christmas then I’m sure they are all over this :

The Justice Department is suing a Chicago-area school district for not allowing a Muslim teacher to take time off to make a religious pilgrimage to Mecca.

Safoorah Khan’s requests for three weeks of unpaid leave in 2008 were rejected twice by the Berkeley, Ill., school district, according to the Justice Department lawsuit filed on Monday in Chicago.

Khan’s desire to make the hajj was “not related to her professional duties,” according to the complaint.

The Justice Department says the school district is in violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

I know my wife doesn’t work for a school system anymore but I seem to recall there is a two to three-month period that Teachers have off every year, As Muslims have to do this once in their lifetime this can’t be done when the pilgrimage coincides with the off-season?

I’m sure that we will hear Barry Lynn and the ACLU screaming about this case…just as soon as they protect our right to free expression by removing every crèche, nativity scene and sign that says Merry Christmas from sight.

Question: How much does the media, particularly MSNBC hate Sarah Palin?

Norah O’Donnell makes a good point that President Bush’s book has a broader historical appeal but you are having the Morning Joe table talk up Jeb Bush and the Bush family in order to favorably compare them to Sarah Palin.

I am an unabashed fan of George W. Bush and will likely get his book sometime next year along with Palin’s 2nd book as my situation improves but to see this kind of stuff on MSNBC speaks volumes, I know president Obama’s performance has really boosted President Bush number in comparison but this is a turnaround of epic proportions.

I really thought it would take a generation for attitudes about George W. to change but nothing speeds up a time-line like Palin Derangement syndrome. It is much stronger than Bush Derangement Syndrome ever was.

Last week the Lonely conservative reported on the SEIU dropping dependent health care:

The fund informed its members late last month that their dependents will no longer be covered as of Jan. 1, 2011. Currently about 6,000 children are covered by the benefit fund, some until age 23.

We touched on it briefly on Saturday’s show, Michelle Malkin now reports that the SEIU is in full spin control mode today:

So if the new spin is now Gospel Truth, shouldn’t SEIU 1199 apologize to the 30,000 families that received the letter blaming Obamacare for making children’s coverage “financially impossible?”

What new spin? Apparently when dropping coverage the union said this:

“…(N)ew federal health-care reform legislation requires plans with dependent coverage to expand that coverage up to age 26,” Behroozi explained in an Oct. 22 letter to members. “Our limited resources are already stretched as far as possible, and meeting this new requirement would be financially impossible.”

Whoa Whoa Whoa we can’t be blaming Obamacare when our union worked so hard for it, so the message is changed anew to cover themselves.

To the union members who supported democrats and worked for democrats and watched your dues go to democratic coffers instead of your own pension funds I say this: You did this to yourselves!
