I hit polls on my last post, today Mark Steyn in response to Andrew “Birth Canal” Sullivan shows how math actually works:

If you have a million people, 90 per cent of whom are ethnic European and 10 per cent immigrant – and the 90 per cent have a fertility rate of 1.3 kids per couple (the Euro average) and the ten per cent have a fertility rate of 3.5 (the Euro-Muslim estimate), the 90 per cent will have 380,250 grandkids and the 10 per cent will have 306,250. In other words, two generations are all they need to catch up. That’s why cities from Malmo to Brussels are already on the brink of majority Muslim status, as government “Integration Ministers” implicitly acknowledge.

Where Mr Walker gets remarkably incurious is when he coos:

Immigrant mothers account for part of the fertility increase throughout Europe, but only part.

Yes, but what part? Here’s some more numbers. Let’s say you have 950,000 ethnic Europeans whose fertility rate is 1.3. And 50,000 immigrants move in with a fertility rate of 3.5. You’d have an overall fertility rate increase to 1.41, or almost ten per cent, entirely due to a tiny segment of the population. In fact, if 900,000 ethnic Europeans’ fertility rate declined from 1.3 to 1.2, but 100,000 immigrants with that 3.5 rate moved in, you’d still have a ten per cent increase in the overall fertility rate, even though 90 per cent of the population has bought a one-way ticket on the Oblivion Express.

This is why Radical Islam is such a danger, I’m not worried about them getting the nukes from Pakistan, our guys will take them out. I’m afraid that in a generation or two they will own the nukes of France and England.

And that’s before we consider the two other factors: Islam’s numbers in Europe grow through births plus continuing high immigration plus a rapidly expanding rate of conversion.

Europe is growing more Muslim every day. We can debate the speed, but not the direction. I wouldn’t pretend to Andrew Sullivan’s expertise in Governor Palin’s birth canal. But on my little hobby horse I think I’ll stick with my thesis. I’d be happy to take him for falafel at my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam in 2025. And afterwards he can buy me a drink at his favorite gay bar. If he can find one.

I will likely not live to see it even if I wasn’t overweight, but my kids and grandchildren will and God help them

Every time I think the Arthur/Carter Watch isn’t worth having something comes to throw me a curve.

A whole lot of people look at the president and see Jimmy Carter. Looking at his Latin America trip you just want to give him 10 Carter points and be done with it. Combining that with the release of the so called “torture” memos you would think there would be no contest.

But then he turns around and not only decides not to make any legal moves against the people who were protecting us. (To the outrage of the left) but he decides to give the cold shoulder to the Durbin II “racism” conference. And don’t think that Obama not going didn’t give cover for Australia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, and even New Zealand to give it a miss.

Ironically his massaging of the egos of Morons like Castro and Chavez actually adds to the street cred to say this thing is wrong. Granted I think president Bush would have avoided this travasty without having to play other games but that’s not the point. It’s a solid action and he deserves credit for it.

So once again we have an Arthur /Carter Wash. I wonder if we will see a pattern of rethoric to satisfy the left while doing actions that cover himself and his administration in case of trouble.

Maybe it should be the Arthur/Carter/LBJ watch? After all the saying went Lyndon goes the way the wind blows.

Well the score remains Carter 10 Arthur 5. However I don’t know what to actually think anymore.

…well maybe not in FAVOR but in sympathy to the slain pirates. These aren’t my numbers that’s their numbers. That very much explains the coverage of yesterday.

6:43 a.m. The environment is poisoned politically. I don’t see how it will be a burden on the republicans since they don’t have the votes and the democrats do.

6:53 a.m. I’ve never seen a grounder go between two people legs at once. Of course they are Yankees so it makes it sweeter.

6:58 a.m. Honor the Messiah or else Arizona!

7:01 a.m. It’s pretty sad when SNL is the only TV show that actually even pretends to ask Biden if what he said was actually true.

7:06 a.m. The Darwin awards were made for that woman with the bears.

7:08 a.m. Very good point on the image stuff.

7:27 a.m. Instead of talk like a pirate day we need apparently Hug a pirate day.

7:29 a.m. Pat had the best line: “The terrorist’s were misguided when they stuck their head out of the porthole.”

7:31 a.m. The Somalia point is a good one, but China is protecting them due to oil contracts Todd should have mentioned that.

7:33 a.m. Only MSNBC could have asked what if the sailors missed their shots.

8:03 a.m. My mother and aunt are visiting that trumps joe.

Muslems kill people? NEVER!

Try not to go Kryten when you read these two paragraphs that believe it or not are from the same story one directly after the other:

“If you bother us again, we will order someone in Mogadishu to meet you,” a gang member added before the line went dead.

Often, though, the pirates are friendly and helpful, though they detest use of the p-word. “We never kill people. We are Muslims. We are marines, coastguards — not pirates,” one said.

Maybe it is because although I was born in 63 my parents were born in the early 20’s and my father served in the pacific during World War II but I just can’t wrap my head around this stuff or the ability of people to let this stuff go.
