…as does Donny Deutsch on Morning Joe. Oh she should have known that he meant the 18 year old daughter. She should have never had put her kids out, she is trying to divide us blah blah blah blah.

Looking at Mika I think she was about to explode she has one again had to defend Gov Palin but does it with the preface “lets forget who she is for the moment”.

In the middle of the back and forth Willie points out that e-mailer are informing them it was Willow that was with Palin and not Bristol. This is MSNBC. This story has been out there for two days now and they are only finding this out via an e-mailer? Then again they don’t know that Levin’s book exists when it has been #1 on the NYT list for 10 of the last 11 weeks and #1 at Amazon for months. Deutsch tries to roll back, Arianna says nothing.

I guess supporting the niche left market on MSNBC trumps all.

You know I think when it comes to the Governor she has to bite her tongue a lot because she is on MSNBC. I really think she wants a reason to vote for her in 2012, but that’s just my ample gut talking.

Haven’t done this for a while and since I have a 2nd interview this week I might as well get it in when I can.

6:01 a.m. Nasty weather coming for the whole east coast

6:04 a.m. First Gitmo prisoner now in NY. The guy is actually being tried for a pre-9/11 attack on embassies.

6:06. a.m. They mention the Palin interview. Barnicle immediately attacks and they all talk her down….

6:15 a.m. …then proceed to agree that she has a solid points. It is only bad because she said it. They refer to her as Dan Quayle and marginalized.

6:17 a.m. How about that Obama mentions Jesus a lot more than Bush in speeches.

6:20 a.m. They hit Palin over the Stevens was acquitted the democrat should resign.

6:22 a.m. Stormy Daniels is brought up, apparently they know Rule 5.

6:24 a.m. They complement Obama on fighting release of docs.

6:28 a.m. There will be an 8 a.m. web chat with Joe, maybe I’ll ask about the Palin stuff.

6:38 a.m. Newt says Obama owns the stimulus they ask Harold Ford, he says the stimulus was needed.

6:40 a.m. Ford says it is Bush’s fault that the bill was needed.

6:50 a.m. Yankees vs Red Sox tonight at Fenway

6:53 a.m. Willie and Barnicle make a good baseball team.

6:58 a.m. Colbert in Iraq, the “but my ears are that big” is a good joke.

7:00 a.m. Joe on the Today show in a few min, will be simulcasted. Joe’s book is out today.

7:05 a.m. Mika was invited to throw out the first pitch at Fenway.

7:07 a.m. Ford says 54% disagree with Newt’s statement about we’d be better off, but what would they say today if the election was held today.

7:08 a.m. Mika point out that if you check out the words and forget that she said them you would agree. She mentions that it seems unfair.

7:12 a.m. North Korea comes up, nothing about what the president seems to be doing about it.

7:18 a.m. As you can see just because he is part of NBC doesn’t mean he doesn’t get an attack interview from Lauer.

7:27 a.m. Norah O’Donnell boy she is going to be nice to Palin.

7:31 a.m. Mika points out that what she is saying is legit. O’Donnell doesn’t want to go there tweaks her for saying “evolving” vs “devolving”.

7:34 a.m. Barnicle points out the 65th anniversary of D-day and we are talking about kids PC injuries.

7:46 a.m. It’s a start but not in my district says Cummings.

7:48 a.m. Joe: “Do you side with the CIA or the ACLU on the release of info.”, answer “I’m on the liberal side but we have to be careful.” It’s a real difference when you actually have the responsibility isn’t it?

8:00 a.m. Shouldn’t Joe mention the flip in NY?

8:03 a.m. How many House seats has New England lost in the past 20 years? Those house seats have gone south and are Republican.

8:13 a.m. Robinson hopes that Obama can pull off the gitmo prisoner stuff.

8:31 a.m. We can have Colin Powel in the party, but it would be nice if he voted republican.

I’ve had a semi busy weekend enjoying myself at graduation parties, staining the porch and doing various errands to prepare the place for my oldest’s graduation party. Yesterday I managed to injure my left leg a bit while running to make a play. I guess I haven’t learned that my body isn’t as young as it used to be or as fit as it should be.

I have been involved in a lengthy comment exchange concerning Mancow and waterboarding with a gentleman named Murph. It’s ironic since I really wasn’t interested in the topic thus the short post but the exchanges on it were very long. I’ve pretty much given him the last word with a reply to that effect. Feel free to check them here. If anyone else is interested enough to respond instead I’ll certainly allow any back and forth on that thread that continues.

I think the blog outing is bad form and discourteous but my comment is actually along a different line. Anyone who chooses to do this kind of thing on the internet really can’t expect to maintain any anonymity. There are too many ways to trace people using technology. Considering the decline in courtesy these days I think it is wishful thinking to expect to receive it when passions get heated in a discussion.

Had a very positive interview this week combined with my extension of unemployment things a looking a tad better in the short run.

We are renting a dunk tank for my son’s graduation party. It should prove an interesting draw.

I picked up a large amount of Dr. Who audios last month for my birthday. I still have several hours of them to listen to. I need a new CD rack as the quantity I have has outgrown the rack I have, but i can’t seem to find a rack that matches the vertical wood base one I have. I spotted it at of all places a Salvation Army store or $8 and it was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the closest thing I can find is this one at Amazon. I can’t seem to find a straight one with the same base.

Oh and speaking of the CD’s the Companion chronicles backfeature on the new Dr. Who CD’s is simply wonderful.

I really don’t think simple misspeaking is newsworthy, Omaha, Obama, Osama all are close enough that a person can easily misspeak. I didn’t care much when people made too much of President Bush’s misspeaking so I don’t see why I should pile on others.

And whatever his name is he seems determined not to lose the war on terror on his watch even if he has to do his best president Bush imitation to do it.

Have you noticed that simple faux pas in courtesy tend to make a lot more trouble than actual things that countries do against each other?

Is it just me or is the Morning Joe sponsored by Starbucks business tacky? It’s a good business move but It doesn’t taste right.

I’ve never cared for the taste of coffee or most beers come to think of it. That makes me kinda odd.

Oh BTW I just haven’t been in the mood to liveblog Morning Joe lately but I will as the mood strikes me.

It is a wonderful social skill to learn how to nurse a shot of good scotch so it lasts a very long time. Not only is it economical but I’ve never seen the attraction of being drunk or high for that matter.

On the subject I very much dislike Jim Braude’s promo for his show on WTKK stating that a person who says they’ve never used pot is either a liar or unfit for public office. Great example Jim. By your definition I’ve done my best to raise my kids to be unfit for office.

Then again that WOULD explain a whole lot concerning Massachusetts politics.

Considering the way George Tiller’s murder is being reported by the MSN the only way to prevent demonetization of Abortion Clinics protesters is to declare Clinics unofficial military recruitment locations.

You know the sound of the Ice Cream truck still makes me smile. That would explain my waistline however it rarely has root beer Popsicles.

Then again i like Music Box Dancer so that might be the reason.

Back in the days when I blogged for HiWired I was obliged to post daily, blogging can sometimes be a trap because once you start to get hits you feel obliged to post. That takes all the fun out of blogging for me.

Sort of like professional Magic, I started playing the game because i twas a good game that didn’t involve heavy thought as opposed to most games I play. I refuse to build complicated decks. When I want a thinking game there is always Republic of Rome.

You know it’s amazing how well the original Star Trek holds up over time. It’s even more amazing how funny William Shatner is. His work in Boston Legal is just classic and his priceline stuff is priceless, but they pay him for it anyway.

Of course he’s not Groucho, or the Three Stooges, and a good thing for him too because then he’d be dead and not working.

Then again the stooges and the Marx brothers are still making good money, better money than me and they all stopped working years ago.

They make an awful lot of people happy even though they aren’t working, I bet for the right money we can get the ladies of The View to stop working too. That would make even more people happy and nobody would have to be dead.

I know you might not think that is very funny but being in the majority is no guarantee of being right; then again if you want good humor you can always hit the Ice Cream Truck, of course it is 11 p.m. EST so you’d have to wait till tomorrow unless you are on the west coast.

Come to think of it I don’t see good humor bars anywhere these days, no wonder comedy is in such a decline. I’d better end this post now before it declines further. So in this case it would be further adieu.

Update: Mudville says Bad Form too but I maintain there is no such thing as anonymity of the web as I pointed out in my porn post (which really should have gotten more rule 5 hits than it did but I didn’t know what rule 5 was when I posted it).

Went to blog morning Joe and got the speech live.

6:18 a.m. A lot of this speech makes him sound much more Islamic than he is but this is rhetoric.

6:20 a.m. He mentions the Adams treaty but doesn’t mention the tribute stuff

6:24 a.m. Extremism anywhere hurts everywhere

6:24 a.m. He quotes the Koran a bit.

6:26 a.m. Like all people we reject the killing of innocent women and children

6:28 a.m. Let us be clear some would deny or cheer 9/11 but let me make things clear Al Quada killed 3,000 innocent Americans on 9/11. This is not a something to be debated but a fact.

The audience didn’t clap to that, there will be a lot of truthers who will be angry about that.

6:30 a.m. We have a coalition of 46 countries that are fighting with us. MSNBC must have hated broadcasting that.

6:31 a.m. “Iraq is a war of choice”

6:32 a.m. He declares all troops will be out by 2012 or Iraq in 2012.

6:34 a.m. Gitmo will be closed by next year. They don’t know about Geraghty’s rule.

6:36 a.m. He states bluntly the Holocaust took place and that it can’t be denied or minimized and talks about the historical persecution of Jews. No applause lines here.

6:38 a.m. It is not a sign of strength to shoot rockets at children or blow up old women on buses.

6:40 a.m. If he quotes the Koran or hits Israel he gets applause. Any statement concerning Israel’s rights meets with stony silence.

6:42 a.m. Arab governments must not use the Arab Israeli conflict to distract from other problems.

6:43 a.m. The holy land needs to be a place where all the children of Abraham can live in peace.

6:44 a.m. He uses the “peace be upon them” formula for a reference to Jesus, Moses and Mohamed. That gets a lot of applause but will cause him grief here.

6:45 a.m. He is now talking about Iranian nukes. He talks about the coup of the 50’s and of Iranian acts against the US and other nations

6:46 a.m. No single nation should be able to decide who controls nukes. Iran has the right to peaceful nuclear power but also responsibilities.

6:48 a.m. Talks about democracy, he is sounding a lot like a certain Texan that we once knew.

6:50 a.m. We can’t impose a type of government but there are basic rights that all people want.

6:51 a.m. There are some who advocate for democracy only when out of power.

6:53 a.m. He decries religious violence and defends the Coptic in Egypt and the Maronites in Lebanon.

6:54 a.m. He attacks laws against the burka. You can’t deny the rights of a religion under the guise of liberalism.

6:55 a.m. Speaks up for woman’s education. I’m convinced our daughters can contribute just as much as our sons. This is an incredible thing to say in a speech here. I respect those woman who choose to live a traditional life but it must be their choice. For this alone this speech is critical.

6:56 a.m. Decries the modern cultural spread of violence and sex but says modern economic development can’t be denied over those cultural fears.

6:58 a.m. Talks about how his father came to America and economic development.

7:01 a.m. If we choose to be chained to the past we will never move forward.

7:02 a.m. It’s easier to blame others than look inward. That’s a radical statement to publicly make in an Arab country.

7:04 a.m. Quotes the Koran, Talmud and the New Testament over peace.

7:05 a.m. Closes with “Peace be upon you” started to say God bless but backed up.

You know a lot of what he is saying is fluff but a lot of this needed to be publicly and heard in the Islamic world.

In my opinion this is the single most important act of president Obama’s presidency and might be the best justification for his election. This speech IS worth the praise that Chris Matthews gave much lesser BS campaign speeches he gave over Rev Wright. Mainly because he has spoken out loud to an Islamic audience things that needed to be said for people faces in this area for decades. This is the “only Nixon can go to China moment.” This one has the chance to be a game changer in the Islamic world.

7:31 a.m. Back to Morning Joe Liz Cheney now being interview.

7:33 a.m. She says it missed some fundamental points. Talks moral relativism, this is correct but that wouldn’t play there. She thinks it would have. Carter like is a big hit.

7:35 a.m. Haas point out that this was not the place for a policy speech.

7:39 a.m. I haven’t seen Dylan “moneyparty” for a while.

7:46 a.m. Jarrett shoveling makes it lesser than it actually is.

8:03 a.m. It only has impact if it follows with policy, I’m not so sure myself.

8:10 a.m. All about Twitter

8:14 a.m. Would you invite a foreign government to come into Michigan to build? Mich gov touts tax breaks.

8:18 a.m. I’m with Mika on the Twitter thing

8:22 a.m. 20th anniversary protests in Hong Kong over Tiananmen Square they only give it a moment.

8:30 a.m. Nancy Reagan stuff It’s amazing how many liberals pretend they liked Reagan now.

8:42 a.m. Joe vs Goodwin, they ignore the words of the liberals that say various things.

8:45 a.m. He does the 4% 25% BS
