The Lonely Conservative is on the ball!

Via a Tweet from Michelle Malkin she links to the reconciliation bill which has just gone up.

She did not find the word abortion in it.

My understanding is they still need to pass the senate bill before they can consider this.

I have a breakfast with my elderly confirmation godfather scheduled tomorrow so I don’t know how much time I’ll have to go through it but we shall see.

Update: Michelle Has a full post up on the subject. I’m sure three days will be enough for everyone to understand just what is in this bill and what they are voting on.

Never forget that we as a nation elected these people. If this monstrosity is passed and we have to live with it, then a lot of voters who bought the whole hope change nonsense will only have themselves to blame.

Update 2: While the word Abortion is not in here the words “family planning” appear 19 times.

from page 784:

In the case of an individual described in section 1902(hh), such medical assistance shall be limited to family planning services and supplies described in 1905(a)(4)(C) and, at the State’s option, medical diagnosis and treatment services that are provided in conjunction with a family planning service in a family planning setting. emphasis mine

Hmmm…”treatment services that are provided in conjunction with a family planning service”. I wonder what that might be referring to? I suspect it doesn’t refer to foot massages.

Update 3: the bill is not without comedy.

Update 4: Memeorandum has it up but somehow doesn’t include the Lonely Conservative who was first. What gives?

…comes from Breitbart TV:

Sen Byrd is much older now. But that message is still what it is.

Perhaps it was this speech that convinced McCain & Graham that democrats could behave with honor.

My warning still stands.

I didn’t bother to write about the president’s speech yesterday or about the talk concerning reconciliation etc because I consider it all for show to try to convince democrats and some republicans of the inevitability of democratic success. I’ve already staked a $20 gift card on it not being passed by the end of Lent but lets make the rash assumption that democrats manage to pull this off.

If that is the case then any republican running for office should be made to make to sign the following statement:

I the undersigned promise that I will vote for the full repeal of any Democratic Health Care bill passed by congress this session. I will repeatedly cast such a vote until the bill is repealed.

If I am running for a Senate Seat I promise to use the same reconciliation process that is used to pass the bill to repeal it. I promise to repeatedly vote for said repeal until it is completed.

If I am running for the Republican presidential nomination I vow to sign any bill of repeal that comes to my desk.

I Further promise to put up a bond for the total amount of the contributions to my campaign during this cycle. If elected and I fail to keep said promise I will forfeit said bond.

Considering how popular said bill I would hate to be any democrat running against a person who has signed such a pledge.

It’s all a bunch of talk…

…when it comes to the use of reconciliation to get “obamacare” passed.

When people have power they don’t have to talk about it or generate buzz about it, they use it. The white house keeps talking and talking and talking about the things they are going to do. It seems to me that it’s all smoke. If they had the votes and the willing congress they would get it done and that would be the end of it. PERIOD!

I don’t buy this for a minute.

The only reason why these people would even conceive of using this method would be to allow democratic senators to vote against it. How false, how cowardly.

This story is even funnier:

Congressional Democrats say Thursday’s health care summit is likely to clear the final hurdles to passing health care reform – and say that President Obama returning to the issue with a clear focus and a specific health care proposal makes it easier for them to get it done.

The Author of this piece is Christina Bellantoni (a nice Italian name). Tell you what Christiana since this is the “final hurdle” If they manage to get this passed by the end of March, in fact I’ll do you better, by the end of Lent, I’ll send you a $20 gift card to the restaurant chain of your choice so you can have a bite to eat and drink on me for being so wrong.

These people are hoping that republicans will blink and or to convince their own members that we will. It’s not going to happen.

I’ve never seen such a pathetic bunch of people who can’t govern in my life.
