A: Robert Stacy McCain still gets instalances.

In fact not only does he still get instalances the lance goes to his American Spectator stuff which is a direct source of income and raises his stature and value at the magazine. This is due to his key work in the Ny-23 race (Vote Hoffman).

Meanwhile Mr. Johnson is reduced to soliciting donations on every single post rather than doing something like, helping to raise funds for Project Valour-It. (Donate at the link at the top BTW) Alas how the mighty have fallen!

And his foes don’t just get instalances they get Rush Lances too, and not secondary ones like I did.

Charles please look at yourself and see what you’ve become.

…business today. the NRCC is taking it on the chin. Rush is all over them for running ads against him AND for the Susan Collins business. He is really bothered by Newt. He called Dede Scozzafava an OBAMA republican!

The callers are all over this today too.

If this race wasn’t over before it should be now.

Vote Hoffman!

Allahpundit’s opinion not withstanding we need Rush to play Conan instead of Captain America. John Hawkins is mostly right:

Conservatives are too forgiving. If you listened to the left you’d think that conservatives were violent, easily inflamed mobs of fiendish KKK/Nazi/Taliban hybrids. Meanwhile, no one seems to be the least bit scared of offending conservatives in any way, shape, or form.

The mainstream media treats conservatives like something they scraped off the bottom of their shoe. Hollywood stars who desperately need conservatives to watch their movies openly mock conservative values and Keith Olbermann can co-host Football Night In America, while Rush Limbaugh is being told he can’t even invest in the NFL. It’s doesn’t matter what people say about conservatives, the way we get treated tells you that we’re not commanding any respect.

So here’s a thought: Maybe conservatives should actually start raising a lot more hell about issues like this one. When Hollywood, the NFL, and the mainstream media conclude that conservatives aren’t suckers who will still hand them money even as they’re insulted, maybe the insults will stop.

Let me conclude by saying that Rush Limbaugh can take the heat. At the end of the day all this means is that he’s going to be able to spend huge sums of money on something other than a NFL team. Moreover, there’s nothing unusual about corporations steering clear of political controversy. That’s something that everyone in this profession just has to accept.

Yet and still, it’s the double standard here that grates. No matter what the situation may be, it always seems like there is one set of rules for conservatives like Rush Limbaugh and a much more lenient, convenient set of rules for liberals.

If conservatives do nothing else in the next few years — well, besides taking back Congress and defeating Barack Obama — we should insist on an end to that double standard.emphasis mine

oh we have to INSIST? oh that will put the fear of God in them.

Earth to conservatism as long as the cost of doing this stuff is only small apologies and off air twitters they will keep doing it.

As Glenn Reynolds has often said when you reward behavior you get more of it. Until there is a tangible cost to this stuff it will continue to happen. You don’t even have to always win, you just have to make them pay a cost they are unwilling to pay.

Let’s see what the results of the successful campaign to deny Rush a minority ownership of the St. Louis Rams.

1. Lots of attention to his radio show, is it even possible for him to get higher rating? We will soon find out.

2. Lots of attention on all the news shows on TV

3. Lots of attention on Sports Radio shows

4. ACTIONABLE actions against major MSM members and perhaps other groups for slander.

5. ACTIONABLE actions against the those same MSM members AND some NFL figures for lost profits from the potential sale.

6. The NFL now risks it’s anti trust exemption.

All of this in order to deny Rush a minority ownership in an NFL team.

on #4 the slanders is a gimmie. It’s really hard when you can’t support a slanderous quote of someone whose every word for decades is transcribed in the hope of a “gotcha” moment. It is going to take a lot of effort for him to lose this and remember every victory he wins will be broadcast to the nation.

on #5 consider this: Is there a moment where the Rams are going to be worth less? Every dollar that the Rams increase in value from today on is a measurable loss for Rush and can be direct rather than punitive damages it’s a potential fortune.

on #6 lets quote the Blackbook legal blog:

Commentators have analyzed whether some of the NFL’s current policies would implicate the boycott rules under § 1 of the Sherman Act. But could a boycott of Mr. Limbaugh’s bid to purchase the Rams–be it through a players’ joint refusal to deal with him, an owners’ boycott or otherwise–be subject to antitrust scrutiny? My hunch is that a boycott could be problematic, even under a favorable rule of reason analysis, because it does not seem to have much of an economic motivation. From current rhetoric–and perhaps understandably–the boycott would be based almost entirely on the controversial statements Mr. Limbaugh made regarding Donovan McNabb several years ago.

That doesn’t even consider stuff like this:

In a candid moment during today’s Al Sharpton radio show (probably not intended for the rest of us to hear), Oben admitted that Rush’s political views regarding Obama were key to the opposition that appears to have derailed his bid to purchase the St Louis Rams

You are dealing with a group of people out for instant gratification, today’s gratification is going to be very expensive.

And remember Rush has plenty of money, if the case drags out for 10 years it won’t matter to him, he will still have them by the gonads.

This is going to be a big mess for a lot of people, and none of them are Rush.

Update: Listening to the show, Soros is in Limbaugh is out?
