Is there anything better than that?

The one bad thing about the tea party…

…was I missed Tim Wakefield’s near no-no.
That complete game by Wakefield was just what the bullpen needed. The value of a knuckle ball pitcher who can eat innings can’t be overstated. And Wakefield has been doing this for the Sox for 15 years through two world series rings. And lets not forget his importance during the 2004 Yankees playoff series.
This article says it best:
Not only was his team reeling from its worst eight-game start in 13 years, but he had just hours earlier milked 11 innings out of his bullpen and had to put Daisuke Matsuzaka on the disabled list. The pitcher who was coming from Triple-A to take Matsuzaka’s spot was traveling all the way from Rochester, with no chance of arriving in Oakland by the start of the game.
So the Red Sox manager was somewhat heartened when Tim Wakefield stopped by his office with a message.
“He poked his head in the door, one of the few moments it was open, and he said ‘I understand my responsibility,'” Francona said. “And it wasn’t flippant. He meant it. Boy, did he ever.”
Just a few hours later, Wakefield had carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning, settling for a complete game 8-2 victory over the A’s.
This is Pete Rose class stuff without the gambling. Who would not want this man on their team?
Remembering 2004 Schilling worth many Pounds…

As we see opening day break on a bleak winter we remember that wonderful year of 2004.
On this day Baseball Musings saw strong outings from both Schilling and the Bullpen as a good sign for the Sox.
Meanwhile the only Redsox story at the Baseball Crank in April was the telling of his tale of meeting Ted Williams. But that’s something always worth remembering.
Why is morning joe treating the G20 protesters

as if they were serious. These clowns protest every economic summit that isn’t held in a country that will crack down (ie china). You have a group of professional protesters and hangers on. Why they treat them as serious I don’t know.
But wasn’t the great power of the love of Obama supposed to cause this stuff to not happen anymore, shouldn’t they be dropping flowers?
And I don’t know what Barnicle has against bloggers but that is one bug he needs to remove from his posterior.
7:39 a.m. These guys are as surprised as I am over Stevens.
7:41 a.m. It is April fools day so we have to be careful on this, but people needs to learn to be polite.
7:47 a.m. Willie asks the why are they protesting Barak the good and is told what I’ve already said, these guys are just background noise.
8:11 a.m. Matthews talks about Reagan as a reader, he never talked like that when he was in the White House.
8:13 a.m. The desire to pretend that George Bush wasn’t a reader and thinker overrides any kind of reality.
8:25 a.m. It is amazing to hear so much BS concerning Israel and Syria at one time. Hamas won? Only an idiot like this guy could say that.
8:28 a.m. Oh boy this guy reveals that Clinton saved the head of Hamas’ life, what a joy. Another reason to love him.
8:36 a.m. If Mark is singing Wooley Booley that is just as interesting as the financial news.
8:53 a.m. Another reason to love Alyssa Milano. Let me stress that Baseball is the most perfect sport there has ever been.
