And now the other side

Yesterday I highlighted how a post on Talkleft expressing some regret that it was necessary to kill the pirates produced some rather…interesting comments. Now lets look at the other side of the coin.

Gateway Pundit points to this post at Kos where the Captain of the vessel is derided for his resistance. As the newly re-designed (not bad) GP points out the post is outrageous, but I want to tip my hat to most of the commentators.

The commentators are almost unanimous in their disdain for the post, quite a few are calling for it to come down. Some may in fact agree with the line of argument but think it reflects poorly on liberalism but I prefer to think that these people get it.

This is why I think that a post like this shouldn’t come down. The commentators on this diary do much more credit to the left than the diary does against it. Plus the image in this comment is worth the price of admission.

Oh and speaking of those brave Palestinians

Israellycool reports that one of their brave freedom fighters took an axe to a teenage boy killing him and wounding a 7 year old boy.

Yup brave warriors them.

Awaiting world condemnation of the act, particularly by peace groups on campus in the US in 293,948,023,023,193,203,203,111,290… 293,948,023,023,193,203,203,111,289… 293,948,023,023,193,203,203,111,288…

Can this be actually so?

Via Althouse and the Weekly Standard some things are so incredible that one can’t wrap your head around it.

Does this mean that the Obama administration is planning on giving some freed Guantanamo detainees a stipend? It sure appears that way. So, not only is the Obama administration planning on freeing some detainees on U.S. soil, it is also going to pay them to live here. Amazing. Who would have thought that we would see the day when detainees who were once labeled enemy combatants would be receiving welfare?

That this type of thing hasn’t caused a media riot amazes me.

Well I feel safer

What will happen when Gitmo closes? Where will the terrorists go? Where will we find them? Apparently all we have to do is look out the window:

Holder told reporters at the Justice Department that the administration’s review, made on a case-by-case basis, would determine whether the prisoners need to be put on trial or whether they can be released.

“For those who are in that second category, who can be released, there are a variety of options that we have. Among them is the possibility that we could release them into this country,” he said.

After Gateway pundit’s jaw is picked up from the ground he reminds us:

Honestly, what could possibly go wrong?

Stop the ACLU has video with apologies to Mr. Rogers.

Hey I hear there is one house in Bill Ayers neighborhood that isn’t getting much use now.

Update: The WSJ weighs in, along with Hotair.

Update 2: Captain Ed:

I find myself growing nostalgic for the days when American government kept Americans safe, instead of the terrorists.
