Starting at 6 a.m. this morning BBC America is once again having a marathon of Dr. Who.

They are advertising it as all of season five starting at 9 a.m. but they are actually starting with the last David Tennant Story The end of time to include the regeneration and the story behind it.

My review of the entire Series 5 starts with The Eleventh Hour and continues through The Beast Below, Victory of the Daleks, The Time of Angels, Flesh and Stone, The Vampires of Venice, Amy’s Choice, The Hungry Earth, Cold Blood, Vincent and the Doctor, The Lodger, The Pandorica Opens, and The Big Bang.

Of course if you want NEW stories there is always Big Finish as the Telegraph has reported:

The Tardis has landed in late-Sixties Soviet Russia. The Doctor and his companion are on the trail of an alien weapon that has fallen into the hands of the Soviets. They are in a speeding van being chased across a frozen lake. Just as they seem doomed the van is beamed aboard a space ship.

There is, however, no Matt Smith or Karen Gillan here. In fact, there is no frozen lake, no van and no spaceship, for I am in a recording studio and late-Eighties Dr Who Sylvester McCoy, and his companion Ace, played by Sophie Aldred, are conjuring the scene in a soundproofed booth.

Dr Who may have been successfully resurrected on television in 2005, but it had already reappeared six years earlier in the shape of audio plays released on CD, a format that has been thriving ever since. Big Finish Productions has created more than 180 plays featuring “classic doctors”, as the pre-2005 Doctors are known.

And if you want them in America you can get them mail order from Mike’s Comics along with figures, books and all the Doctor Who stuff you will ever want, just in time for Christmas!

Nancy Pelosi seeing the fight between Jim Clyburn and Steny Hoyer for Minority Whip has demonstrated the ability she showed all during her time as speaker to make the tough decisions to solve problems.

In a statement released late Friday night, Pelosi signaled an end to the ongoing battle between Clyburn and Democratic Leader Steny Hoyer (Md.) to be the next House Minority Whip — the second-ranking leadership position in the minority.

“Should I receive the honor of serving as House Democratic Leader, I will nominate Congressman Jim Clyburn of South Carolina to the number three leadership position,” Pelosi said in a statement sent to reporters at 11:01pm.

Number 3 position? She is not bumping John Larson as caucus chairman so what exactly is this #3 position that I’ve never heard of. What does it do? I’m sure Politico can tell us

Clyburn’s title and responsibilities were not specified in the announcement from Pelosi’s office, and Democratic leadership aides scrambled to explain the deal to reporters.

So let me get this straight. The Democratic Party faced with making an actual decision between two presumably qualified candidates for

South Park has the Democratic leadership pegged

the job that Jim Clyburn (who happens to be black) currently holds have agreed to put Steny Hoyer (who happens to be white) in Mr. Clyburn’s job and to invent a job, presumably with staff and offices paid via government funds, with no title and no specific duties for Jim Clyburn.

Who said that democrats didn’t know how to create or save jobs?

Hmmm let’s think about this, a totally unneeded job suddenly created for a member of a racial minority to avoid a conflict in an organization. What is the word that people have for a person who gets such a job for the sake of appearances. Oh I know, TOKEN.

I guess self-respect doesn’t come into play when power is involved.

Update: Separate but Equal? OUCH!

It may be a laugh line and they will play it for publicity, but its a good cause:

In one of the more clever moments of issue advocacy in recent memory, the progressive media watchdog group, Media Matters for America, successfully won an online auction Thursday to have a “friendly lunch” with its long-time nemesis, News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch.

The item, which was listed on the site Charity Buzz, was billed as a chance to “propose your business ideas” with the media mogul. The winning bid, according to a Media Matters representative, went for $86,000 — the proceeds of which will be sent to The Global Poverty Project.

Hey like I say, they will get a stunt over it but if Media Matters wants to drop $86k of Soros’ money to the Global Poverty Project all well and good.

Do you think that Murdock hasn’t handled situations like this before? If they do then their fools, but they will give some red meat for the far left that has little to cheer about right now.

If you can’t get real wins then stunts will have to do.

Glenn linked to one other interesting piece today from one of the few people on the far lets on my blogroll, the Reclusive Leftist who said this:

Nobody has ever apologized to me. Not that it would make a difference, but still. Not one of those people who accused me of being a racist and secret wingnut has ever said, “You were right about Obama. I’m sorry I called you those names.”

What they do instead is claim that no one could have known how Obama would turn out. He seemed like cream of Jesus on toast, so how could they know? Nobody could know! And as for the uncomfortable fact that a bunch of people, including me, seemed to know exactly how Obama would turn out and were saying so loudly in 2008—well, that was just coincidence.

Get used to it Violet we on the right are constantly being accused of being racists for daring to disagree with the one or even with Deval Patrick

Anyway your willingness to see what others ignored and say it aloud earns you my respect.
