Screwtape: No doubt he must very soon realise that his own faith is in direct opposition to the assumptions on which all the conversation of his new friends is based. I don’t think that matters much provided that you can persuade him to postpone any open acknowledgment of the fact, and this, with the aid of shame, pride, modesty and vanity, will be easy to do

C. S. Lewis The Screwtape Letters #10

There have been plenty of stories about supposed “anti-racism” protestors taking down pictures of hostages taken by Hamas at colleges and in cities in order to support the “big lie” that exists on camps and elsewhere concerning Hamas’ attack. All of these things are disgraceful.

In response to this a non-profit called “Campaign Against Antisemitism” decided to run giant electric billboards on trucks so they couldn’t be taken down and run said convoy though London to make sure people couldn’t pretend that it wasn’t happening.

That’s when the London Police looked at all those people who’ve been taking down those signs and said “Hold My Beer”.

However, the convoy was stopped on Wednesday by anti-Israel protesters who began heckling and intimidating them. When police officers came, they asked the CAA convoy to shut off its billboards and leave the area.

“The officers told our drivers to turn off their billboard and stop showing the faces of children kidnapped by a proscribed terrorist organization, apparently because their sympathizers on British streets might attack us for showing them,” CAA executive director Gideon Falter said in a video posted to the organization’s X/Twitter page after the encounter. “Before we set out, we had worried that these billboards might attract attention from Hamas sympathizers. We never imagined that it would be the police who would stop us from showing the faces of children kidnapped by a terrorist group banned by the UK government.”

You see if dozens or hundreds or even thousands of Hamas supporters in London attack a convoy of trucks bearing the images of Jewish children being held hostage by Hamas then this would force England in general and the City of London in particular to acknowledge publicly a reality that everyone privately knows but wants to suppress.

I suspect this is why the news that there has apparently already been at least one terror attack in London over Gaza is currently being suppressed:

An asylum seeker bent on avenging deaths in Gaza has carried out a suspected terrorist attack in Britain, The Telegraph can disclose.

The public has not been told that the man, who came to the UK in 2020, told police he had done it for “Palestine”.

MPs said on Friday night that the public had a right to know, amid warnings that demonstrations this weekend could encourage so-called lone-wolf terrorist attacks.

What’s that reality? That a significant portion of Muslim population they have allowed to come to England legally, illegally and/or as asylum’s seekers are a bunch of unassimilated anti-Semitic thugs who have become too large to effectively control without force and in a generation likely won’t be controllable even with force

The powers that be in England has decided that their own wealth and power depend of postponing the inevitable confrontation this truth will produce at all costs and if that cost means conceding to them the rights of Englishmen today that’s fine with them.

My opinion? The time to have that confrontation is NOW when you still are likely to win it. In one generation you will only have a chance of winning it and within two generations the issue will no longer be in doubt and on that day the English people will regret their lack of a 2nd amendment right.

…when you realize you got exactly what you voted for.

This a reference to this article about “progressive” Jews complaining that their “progressive” left-leaning friends are totally, 100% OK with Hamas fighters butchering Jews in Israel. The article is essentially a “we didn’t see that coming” list of complaints.

My first thought was…wah?

Seriously, I’m tired of the “nice person” argument, which goes along the lines of “I voted for/supported these people that I thought were nice, while ignoring all the obvious red flags.”

All the progressive Jews that supported left-leaning losers who are siding with murderous Hamas militants…you got what you voted for.

All the progressive “Christians” who were shocked when the pro-abortion people they supported were totally cool with infanticide and murdering babies in a bucket after birth…you got what you voted for.

All the “mean tweets!” whiners that are now shocked we have two large, open conflicts within a few hundred miles of each other and involving major nation states…you got what you voted for.

You can whine about conservative candidates at the local, state and federal level, and you can vote for the left-leaning candidate because it makes you feel good in the moment…but it has consequences. The conservative politicians might not be polished (or maybe the news media is altering their coverage), and he or she might demand some responsibility in spending or enforcing the law, but we’re seeing what happens when people continually pick the politicians that sound nice on paper. We get murdered babies, both in the womb and out of it. We get wars that we either choose to lose or can’t really win. And we get encouragement towards all our enemies to take actions, whether its kidnapping Americans or shooting missiles at US Navy ships.

Those same people will come back and demand that the responsible politicians fix the mess. And after those people do, the same people will forget and vote again for losers that sound nice on paper.

It’s like the story of the ant and the grasshopper, where the ants stored up food for the winter while the grasshopper played a fiddle and gaffed off, only to then beg the ants feed him in the wintertime. I always hated that story as a kid, because I thought the ants should have let the grasshopper freeze to death. I mean seriously, he’s like 100 times their body weight. He’s gonna eat you out of house and home! Screw that lazy bug, let him die in the cold.

Those of us who did the “uncool” thing and worked responsibly, supporting things like balanced budgets, protecting life and being strong overseas to stop wars, we are tired of bailing you out. Don’t cry to me that “you didn’t know” your left-leaning friends would throw you under the bus. Just like the grasshopper living it up in the good times, you’re only complaining now in hopes of finding a free meal at someone else’s doorstep.

….but I’m sorry if you have a two run lead in the ninth inning of game five in the final game of a playoff series at your home park and your closer has started the inning with a hit then a walk to lead off the 9th there is absolutely NO way I am leaving him in to face a Hall of Fame caliber player who is 2nd all time in home runs in the playoffs.

In fact the moment the bench clearing incident that put runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out in the top of the 9th takes places I’m getting a 2nd pitcher warming just in case because of the delay.

And if I didn’t do it then on the theory that with runners on 1st & 2nd and no out and with runners on 1st and 3rd with one out I’m likely to score to put the game out of reach I damn well will get someone up as soon as my guys fail to score.

I know Leclerc is the best they had in the barn but once you saw him put on the person in the 8 & 9th spot to start the inning you have to get him the hell out of there.

I’m sorry that’s just really bad managing.

It is inaccurate to say that the Republican Party removed Kevin McCarthy from the Speakership of the House of Representatives.   In reality, eight traitorous Republicans conspired with all of the Democrats in the House to remove the Republican Speaker.  Democrats would never conspire to do anything with the other side of the isle because Democrats have always been far more united than the Republicans.  On this one point the Republicans should emulate the Democrats.

If all of the Republicans in the House had stood united and removed McCarthy bccause he violated his promises, then quickly replaced him with a true Conservative, the Republicans would be worthy of praise rather than the ridicule they have earned.

Republicans are proving just how stupid they are and earning all of the ridicule hurled at them as this debacle stretches on and on.  What makes this farce worse is the fact that the most worthy Conservative candidate will most likely be rejected, 20 House Republicans Decline to Vote for Jim Jordan for Speaker (breitbart.com)

Twenty House Republicans on Tuesday declined to vote to make Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) the next Speaker of the House.

“With Jordan supporter Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) absent, Jordan could not lose more than three Republicans on his quest to receive the necessary 217 votes. Bilirakis is expected back in Washington on Tuesday evening,” Breitbart News’s Bradley Jaye wrote.

Twenty House Republicans declined to vote for Jordan as the Ohio Republican is within striking distance of becoming the next Speaker of the House.

It is becoming obvious to everyone just how moronic the Republicans are: The Party of Idiots (townhall.com)

It starts at the top, with the head of the Republican National Committee agreeing to two primary debates with Fox News and Telemundo, where the questions were either better suited to a Democrat debate or just so far beyond stupid that embarrassment is the only thing anyone should feel for those involved. (That dumb “Survivor” question, anyone?)

From there, a tiny group of House members decided that all the attention being focused on the failures of Democrats was bad and wandered into a field of rakes, stepping on them with glee as each handle smacked them in the face. “We need to rock the boat” is something people on the Titanic never said, but these Republicans chose to steer the ship into the iceberg for…reasons.

If Republicans could get the hell out of their own way, they might actually get some really good things done. If they could stop walking out into a field of rakes and stop buying and throwing so many rakes on the ground everywhere, we might win.

Instead, the Republican Party is a party of idiots. Idiots are very good at getting on highly rated cable TV shows and having a large social media following, but they are horrible at leading. Horrible at addressing problems. They are horrible at not making literally everything about them.

This saga keeps getting more and more ridiculous.  Check out these three articles:

Why Republicans Are Plotting Against Jordan In the Race for Speaker (townhall.com)

NBC News reported that U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) and several other Republicans have participated in closed-door meetings with Democrat House Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to reach a solution to keep Jordan from securing the required 218 votes to become the new House Speaker.

Only five Republicans need to vote “no” to succeed.

“They put us in this ditch along with eight traitors,” Rogers told reporters. “We’re still the majority party; we’re willing to work with them, but they gotta tell us what they need.”

Scalise Trying to Undermine Jordan Speakership Bid Ahead of 2nd Ballot (breitbart.com)

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) is attempting to undermine Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) bid for the Speakership gavel after voting for him on the first ballot, sources familiar with the matter have confirmed to Breitbart News.

CNN’s Annie Grayer noted on X that the majority leader would not commit to helping Jordan secure the 17 outstanding votes he needs for the top House job. This is despite Jordan requesting his aid, as the House has not had a Speaker since now-former Speaker Kevin McCarthy was removed on October 3. Sources on Capitol Hill have confirmed Grayer’s reporting to Breitbart News.

As she puts it, sources say Scalise, who failed in his bid for the gavel, is “Not being a team player.”

Jeffries: ‘Informal Conversations’ Taking Place for Bipartisan Solution to Speakership (breitbart.com)

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that “informal conversations” are taking place for a bipartisan solution to the House speakership.

Anchor Kristen Welker said, “Are you actually having conversations behind the scenes with the Republican counterparts about trying to create a bipartisan solution, a governing coalition?”  Jeffries said, “There are informal conversations that have been underway. When we get back to Washington tomorrow, it’s important to begin to formalize those discussions.”
