Some things are so nonsensical that they speak for themselves.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says she believes she must pursue public policies “in keeping with the values” of Jesus Christ, “The Word made Flesh.”

The audacity of extremely pro-abortion Pelosi saying this with a straight face is only exceeded by the stupidity of anyone who believes it. And yes I said stupidity.

Gateway points to her perfect record on abortion. While Nordlinger points to a basic truth:

Whoa, baby. We can’t say that — no one right of center can say that; but they can. A curious fact about a strange place, America.

Amazing isn’t it?

…while national elections continue to dominate the news a couple of local stories keep people’s interest in town.

On the Planned Parenthood front the pro-life forces have suffered yet another setback:

The City Council has never voted in favor of a petition filed by pro-life advocates intending to keep Planned Parenthood off Main Street, and it didn’t begin to Tuesday night during a hearing on a petition to require a special permit for medical offices looking to open downtown.

We will keep on fighting nonetheless, but I think the thing needed frankly are different counselors if we want to see different results..

Meanwhile most people in town have something else on their mind:

Police are searching for a white male who robbed a bank on John Fitch Highway shortly after 2 p.m. on Monday, according to Sgt. Glenn Fossa.

Fossa described the suspect, who fled with an undisclosed amount of money, as a white male of heavy build, about 5 feet 10 inches to

Amazing how little attention elections out of state generate when armed bank robberies are taking place in broad daylight a few blocks away.

Taking another look at Gibbs’ feigned outrage I wonder if the White House plan is to feign outrage in order to make it a moral imperative of “fairness” to rush Kagan through to keep her from improper personal questions.

I certainly don’t care who she is sleeping with but I sure would like to know her Abortion position (as if I didn’t know).

Yesterday’s planning board meeting was memorable particularly by the amount of time everyone had to wait.

This was due to an issue concerning a culvert and access to a cell tower. Three lawyers, two companies and a local citizen were involved and I suspect Chris and I will agree on the existence of God before these people settle their differences with each other.

By the time that first issue was settled it was always past 8 p.m, the board was tired and several of the people who came to speak had left.

We had several speakers on each side, as usual the lead for the group opposing Planned Parenthood was Doctor Rollo but Ted Turner, Chris Hadley, myself,

Several speakers spoke in favor of planned parenthood including Chris Lackey.

Unlike the city counsel meetings there was a fair amount of give and take and the Planning Board seemed generally interested in the opinions of all.

The general opinion was that the resolution was too broad, this was ironic since the previous proposals were criticized for their specifics.

The board will sending a written recommendation to the counsel who will vote on it May 18th. It was my feeling that 3 people on the board seemed to go for it.

All in all I’d say they treated us fairly, I’ll upload and include some video when I have access to a spot with faster uploads.

Update: The Sentinel story is here.
