Acceptable Terms

There are those who are blaming the Dobbs ruling for the results of the last election in the sense that it energized the democrats future cat lady base and the guys who hope to pump and dump rather than risk supporting a kid.

I suspect that there are plenty of GOP establishment deep state members who would be happy to dump the abortion issue that that Roe is gone because they think it might mean votes. Many of them I suspect don’t care all that much for the faithful Catholics and other Christians who have voted with them over this issue, but simply wanted the votes.

Let me explain something.

A lot of us former Democrats who are Christians didn’t rush to become Republicans out of love for the GOP, we came to vote with your for the sake of a purpose, the defense of life. If the cost of that defense is a disappointing midterm those terms are acceptable.

If the cost of it is a stronger democrat base that’s fine with us too.

It’s all and always been about the lives, the GOP is a vehicle for saving those lives and they have our votes as long as they continue to be such a vehicle

Or to paraphrase Lincoln. Our paramount goal is to save the lives of children and is not for or against advancing the electoral prospects of the Republican party.

  • If we can save children from abortion by voting for a Straight Republican Ticket we will do so
  • If we can save children from abortion by voting against a straight republican ticket we will do so
  • and if we can save children from abortion by voting for the GOP tickets in some places but not in others we’d do that too.

If you want to understand the religious voter who now regularly votes GOP, that’s all you need

UPDATE: Welcome Hotair Headline readers. I hope you take the time to look around, My domain may be gone and my Youtube channel banned but there is still the stuff on Rumble the Catholic Radio show Your Prayer Intentions every Saturday at noon on WQPH Radio (post prayer requests here) and of course my magnificent seven writers who have stuff here through thick and thin.

There have been brief moments when justice has been done concerning what has gone on in the last two years. The dismissal of Peter Strzok was one of them.

A draft of his termination letter has been leaked and to say it is devastating is the understatement of the year.

There is more at the link but the sad thing is that this letter not withstanding this gentlemen’s action are rapidly becoming the norm rather than the exception.

Which is why we are now on day 8 of the Novena:

St. Matthew Novena - Day 8
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Lord, we thank You for giving us St. Matthew as an example of holiness. Help us to imitate the virtue he showed in holding fast to his Faith even to the point of death.

St. Matthew, we know few details about your life after the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven, but we know that you continued to serve God and His Church through writing and preaching.

Please continue to bring my petitions before the throne of God!

It is believed that you were forced to flee Judea because of the persecution of Christians there. Though details of your death aren’t known for certain, Tradition holds that you gave up your life for the Faith as a martyr.

Pray for me, that I may always be courageous in my practice of the Faith, no matter the cost. Pray that I might have the courage to hold fast to my Faith even to the point of death if necessary.

Please also pray for the FBI agents involved in the Mark Houck arrest.

St. Matthew, pray for us!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

I’d like to say I was shocked by this story

And a Catholic dad with seven children warranted the full wrath of Joe Biden’s DOJ, with a SWAT raid on the family home at 7:05 a.m.

According to Ryan-Marie’s account, there were 25-30 agents in 15 cars. They surrounded the house with rifles in firing position, and “started pounding on the door and yelling for us to open it.”

Mark replied, “Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.”

“But they just kept pounding and screaming,” the mother said. “They had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house,” and ordered the children upstairs. “The kids were all just screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic.”

This should terrify every American. Mark Houck isn’t a drug lord or a mass murderer. He was involved in a minor scuffle at an abortion clinic, and now he’s facing a possible sentence of 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and fines of up to $350,000 if convicted.

…but there is a commandment against false witness.

I have several thoughts that I’ve already tweeted out but there are worth repeating here:

  1. This is just the sort of thing a completely legitimately elected administration does with what has become its secret police
  2. That this is all about intimidation is proven by the overwhelming armed force 25 armed men to arrest a guy who spends his time praying? If they were just interested in enforcing the law two guys with a warrant could have shown up and he would have come quietly
  3. You will never see this version of the FBI take this kind of action against ANTIFA or any of those burning down US cities, those folks tend to shoot back, much after to go up against people whose primary weapon is prayer.
  4. That the @FBI has stooped this low is a disgrace, but that won’t be the opinion of the MSM till the #gop is in charge & starts returning the favor
  5. I expect to see a lot of agents who are on the fence about this stuff assigned to these kind of raids in the future in order to put “blood on their hands” so to speak to make them less willing to speak out if there is ever an investigation about this stuff.
  6. I expect to see a lot more of this particularly before the election in the hopes that one of these people will decide to resist or that it provokes a violent reaction that can justify even more repressive actions.
  7. This is also why I think the left with the full help of the will be fixing elections for years to come. Because those who have crossed so many lines won’t be anxious to be out of power and risk being held responsible by people who actually believe in the rule of law.
  8. I’ve met with and marched with and participated in many prayer vigils in front of abortion clinics. That could have been me, one of my sons or any of a hundred people I know.
  9. I’ve often said nobody does good better than a good catholic and nobody does evil better than a bad one. Joe Biden & co are doing theirs best to prove me right.
  10. I know I’ve said this before but it’s worth repeating, when the left eventually loses power I expect the official line from a lot of FBI agents questioned by this will be: “I was only following orders”

Finally let me point out that Christ himself has predicted this kind of thing here:

“I have told you this so that you may not fall away. They will expel you from the synagogues; in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he is offering worship to God. They will do this because they have not known either the Father or me.

John 16:1-3

and here:

If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but as it is they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me also hates my Father.

John 15:18-23

Lots of stuff going on in the house as we will have a friend staying over today so just a few minutes to let you know that I will be on Ed Morrissey’s podcast.

We will be talking about yesterday’s post and Elizabeth Warren’s attacks on pregnancy’s centers

As I was tying this it hit me that all these pregnancy centers are great examples of DaTechGuy’s law of media outrage to wit:

DaTechGuy’s 1st law of media outrage:

The level of Outrage or interest of the media and their allies on the left concerning any insult or prevarication concerning a person or thing will routinely be equal to the inverse of the degree of the political distance between said media / leftists and the target of said insult or prevarication at the time it is made

Attacks by Warren on centers that help woman do not generate outrage because the target, Pregnancy Centers, are diametrically opposite from the left in practice if not in theory

DaTechGuy’s 2nd Law of Media Outrage:

The level of acceptance of the positions and/or actions of any group or organization by the left and media is directly proportional to their current or potential value in electing liberal Democrats.

Actions against pregnancy centers fires up the Democrat base so the left and leftist pols are accepting of them (if that changes this might change but for now that’s where it is.

DaTechGuy’s 3rd Law of media outrage:

The MSM’s elevation and continued classification of any story as Nationally Newsworthy rather than only of local interest is in direct correlation to said story’s current ability to affirm any current Democrat/Liberal/Media meme/talking point, particularly on the subject of race or sexuality.

The fact that these pregnancy centers have been doing incredible work to help woman, particularly poor women has been ignored as a story for decades because such help does not affirm and in fact contradicts democrat talking points on everything from sexuality to religion and of course abortion.

DaTechGuy’s 4th Law of Media Outrage:

The degree of media exposure of the corruption or illegality committed by any individual or organization under investigation is directly proportional to its distance from the media’s ideology.

While a lot of churches and pregnancy centers are under attack lately the truth is they have been regularly under physical attack for decades but because the radical groups who have been doing these attacks have no distance from the media none of these stories made national news and frankly barely make local news.

DaTechGuy’s 5th Law of Media Outrage:

Any positive actions, even one that supposedly advances a goal or, or done by a group allied or identified with the radical left, will not be considered newsworthy nationally, if said action has the potential to highlight a failure and/or inaction by a Democrat administration that is in power at the time of said positive action

Supposedly helping pregnant women, particularly poor women of color is a positive action that would normally be lionized by media but because said help are provided by religious non profits that get no federal money and tend to be service that are not provided by Democrat allies such stories are not newsworthy as they would highlight the failure of the left and Democrat administrations to provide such needed services

DaTechGuy’s 6th Law of Media Outrage:

The degree of protection by or attack of the media on any person is governed by the degree of danger and/or usefulness to the Democrat party’s electoral goals said protection or attack represents

Because pregnancy centers are not centralized so they don’t have a national face this law is the hardest to apply but we can apply it to Senator Warren in this case. Her attacks on centers that help poor women, if done by a Republican, would normally cause scorn by the media, but Warren is protected from such attacks as they are considered vital as part of the Democrat’s electoral goal of using the Dobbs decision to energize the left base which has very little reason to feel energetic lately.

Update: Didn’t realize it wasn’t live so I don’t know when it will be on I’ll update the post when I know.
