Archive for the ‘doctor who’ Category

…At Rich’s comics blog shame on you, but today’s episode has a twist that bodes very well for fans of both Forever Knight and Doctor Who.

You should of course start from the begining (it’s only 53 pages to this point) and if you haven’t read his Magnum Opus the Ten Doctors you need to do that too.

Of course if you want just a taste you can always watch this:

Of if you just HAVE to have sound a group of fans are working on it.

Yeah I know the non-cyber voices are off a bit but hey they are working on it. And apparently you can be too according to this posting if you are interested in helping with the voice word adaption of the strip they want to hear from you.

Update: Welcome fellow who fans from Rich’s comic blog. Take a look around. The blog is mostly political and religious but my doctor who category is here and my review of Big Finish doctor who audios can be found here.

Update 2: You know it isn’t a good rose voice but it could pass for Lucie Miller.

Her final flightMy review of the Big Finish Bonus cd. Her Final Flight, Staring Colin Baker as the 6th Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri is available at Amazon.com here.

This is a CD that was given as a subscriber bonus for those who had either a 6 or a 12 cd subscription to the main Big Finish line. Big Finish actually allows you to start a subscription at any episode so in theory you can still get this episode for free.

Because it is a freebie it is only a single cd episode.

Amazon doesn’t offer it directly only through resellers. Mike’s comics does offer it for $13. Sounds like a fair deal to me.

Catch 1782My Review of the Big Finish Doctor Who episode #68 Catch 1792, Staring Colin Baker as the 6th Doctor and Bonnie Langford as Mel is available at Amazon.com here.

This completed my collection of Colin Baker episodes in the main series. This doesn’t include the free episodes The Ratings War and Cryptobiosis.

I’ve found the Baker episodes to include both the best stories of the series. (The one doctor, The Condemned, The Marian Conspiracy) and some of the worst (The Apocalypse element, Whispers of Terror). It also features the greatest range of companions as well.

Next year after the departure of Charley we will see yet another companion but either way, the Colin Baker episodes certainly aren’t dull.

…think alike:

If I am a “white supremacist blogger,” as Johnson now insists, why didn’t he see fit to warn anyone about this prior to my coming to the defense of Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer and others after Charles had smeared them?

Charles Johnson deliberately misformed his readers about Geller et al. for months before I first spoke out against his cruel and unjust defamation. The one thing he doesn’t want deluded LGF readers to discover is the true history of his vicious campaign of lies against conservatives who supported European opponents of jihad.

Johnson smeared Geller over and over again, and savagely maligned anyone who defended her. It was the sheer sadism of Johnson’s assault on her that caused me to speak out.

Sure sounds familiar.

Apparently the importance to expose that racist, neo confederate and White supremacist Evil that is Robert Stacy McCain was so great that Charles waited until Robert Stacy McCain posted 5,071 entries on his blog on his blog before exposing him.

He was so outraged by Glenn Reynolds linking to him that he waited until his 21st instalance (yes that’s 20 instalances more than me, feel free to suggest to Glenn that I deserve another) to denounce him for it. Apparently he wanted to give Glenn every chance to change his mind.

When I look at this I can’t help but think this this quote from one of my favorite episodes of Doctor Who, the Deadly Assassin:

Hilred: We have him trapped in the Communications Tower.
Spandrell: Well done, Hilred. An antiquated capsule, for which you get adequate early warning, transducts on the very steps of the Capital. You are warned that the occupant is a known criminal, therefore you allow him to escape and conceal himself in a building a mere 53 stories high. A clever stratagem, Hildred. You’re trying to confuse him, I take it?

The actual scene is here starting at 7:15.

Those are all good questions. I wonder if we will ever get good answers?
