Ctrl-Center Hmmmm

Noticed that the page for Ctrl-Center has changed.

When HiWired stopped breathing it remained to be seen what would happen to Ctrl-Center, would Office Max drop the brand or give it to another tech support company?

I presume Office Max decided they didn’t want the dough already sunk into be a loss so somebody is doing it. Since the page say US based support I presume it hasn’t gone to India but as to where it is being done and who is doing it I have no idea.

Still not sure if they will be supporting the old services that we once offered, but that is a post for another day. I’d be very interested in knowing what people think of the new service, of course I’d recommend Datechguy’s tech services instead.

Lots of good news today

Well I’ve had a few rants today but there are a lot of good things to smile about as well.

Got my car inspected and filled up, the price was less then a fill-up would have been 4 months ago.

Saw a convoy of power trucks from Chattanooga Tenn. these guys are really working hard. Still a few people without power but they are working on it.

Been reading about King Phillips War it wasn’t far from here that houses were torched and people killed stripped and scallped. Compared to that an Ice Storm is nothing.

The direct deposit for my unemployment has come in. With the direct deposit system the check was processed in 48 hours. A whole lot easier than 4 years ago.

And I got my first sale, If I can manage 8-10 more a week we can say goodbye to the unemployment bit altogether.

And its game night. You can never be unhappy on gamenight.

And the blankets are finally in for Christmas.

Feast or Famine

Although Central Massachusetts might be short of power these days, life is not short of irony.

This have still been quiet on the tech support front. Today my sister-in-law called up over an issue with her browser (it’s that IE issue that you have been hearing about). While I’m connecting to her the phone beeps and isn’t it a friend in Texas with a different computer issue (disappearing toolbar in word 2003).

What are the odds that 26 days after being laid off I would have two people to service through LogMeIn at the same time and both would call at the same time?

Well still no bites on the eBay stuff so I’ve re-listed everything. So far the optimism hasn’t paid off but time will tell.

I think I haven’t over priced the stuff and it can be bid on for a lower price I think its just a question of waiting and plugging.

Patience is a virtue, and by the time I see a bit I might be a very virtuous person.
