Shameless Rule 2 Linkage

I’ve actually been reading The Other McCain for quite a while and have linked to his blog on several occasions but for some reason or another I’ve never bothered to add him to the blogroll.

Thinking about it I really don’t have a good explanation for not adding him except for the idea that if the roll gets too large it just becomes another name on an ignored list.

But my roll isn’t that long and since I’m in a sense “blogwhoring” a bit I shall bow to Rule 2 and add The Other McCain to the blogroll as soon as this post is up.

As for his tipjar, lets wait until the job comes.

As we see the media close their eyes to the world outside their templates concerning the tea party protests this little youtube film via LGF is made even funnier:

Since there is about 2 seconds of very brief nudity it will likely be the most popular post I’ve ever put up. If that doesn’t get a rule 5 link nothing will.

Update: If you think this clip is in conflict with my Catholic beliefs remember we know God has a sense of humor because after all, he created man.

Some things never change

Still reading Hart’s Volume one of American History told by Contemporaries. I still have 150 pages or so to go. It’s a very small font and interesting but slow reading, both due to the age and the style of the documents and of the writer, but there is one thing that jumped out at me today as I read it at Funspot in between games of Paragon pinball and Red Baron (sitdown model)

On page 388 there is a small section written in 1641 by a person named Thomas Lechford called “A note of what things I misliked in the Country (Massachusetts)” Professor Harts subnotes on this section had me laughing aloud. I quote them directly:

The first lawyer in the colony (se No 91 above): he was not kindly received and his notes are rather prejudiced.

I guess our early ancestors aren’t all that different than the rest of us, either that or lawyers haven’t changed in centuries.
