The anticipation of the court, still at Stalag 13 was palatable as the judge spoke:
“I find the testimony insufficent to convict the defendants & while the new evidence produced by the final witness indicates Stalag 13 was a “model” camp for 3rd Reich propaganda it establishes no connection by the commandant nor his officers to any attrocties committed in other camps not under their jusittiction. I therefore find the defendants Not Guilty.
As the Judge spoke Marya descended the ladder under the stove into the tunnels now used by the CIA with the Stalag 13 Museum as cover.
