The breeze seemed to come out of nowhere. When she turned around she heard the loud noise and screeching that her mother had described as a child and then saw the shape of the blue box, the words “Police Public Call Box” at the top.
It was a story that had been both true and unreal, a painful story in the last few years after hearing about her brother’s encounter but she never expected to see herself as a part of it.
The only thing she expected less was the sight of two women she didn’t know inviting her in.
