because is anyone out there deserves release is Ang San Suu Kyi:

Reports are coming out of Burma saying the military authorities have signed an order authorising the release of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

The Nobel laureate has been detained for 15 of the past 21 years, and her house arrest term expires on Saturday.

Suu Kyi being Suu Kyi however is not about to settle for a half a loaf:

Earlier this week, he said Ms Suu Kyi would “not accept a limited release”.

“[It] must be unconditional. As we all know, she never accepted limited freedom in the past,” he added.

Nyan Win said she would meet with the NLD’s central committee, members of the media and the public once she was freed.

Let’s home and pray for the best.

Got an e-mail today informing me that another American has a FATWA against him:

Moslems in Eritrea, following MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow’s lead, have declared Jihad against me, a “racist American homosexual,” because of my Visitor’s Guide to DC for tea partiers attending Glenn Beck’s and other rallies

The tea party is made up of people of all different races, religions, sexual preference and locations but bottom line is we are all Americans, and as far as I’m concerned if Moslems in Eritrea are coming after Bruce Majors, then they are coming after me.

I am Bruce Majors
and so is every American who believes in free speech. And if you aren’t, you ought to be.

Update and here is my flag!

We are all Bruce Majors!

If you come for one of us you come for us all.

Joe Biden Had a Transparency Meeting, and We’ll Have to Take His Word For It

Is there a better symbolic story for this entire administration?

I think a lot of times here safely in a free country like the US we forget that things are not the same everywhere:

A father who organized a support group for other parents whose children were sickened in one of China’s worst food safety scandals was convicted and sentenced Wednesday to 2 1/2 years in prison for inciting social disorder, his lawyer said.

Zhao Lianhai had pushed for greater official accountability and compensation for victims and their families after the 2008 scandal that shocked China. His sentence appeared particularly severe because the case related to a public safety incident that the embarrassed leadership had pledged to tackle in a bid to restore consumer confidence.

In the US this man would be celebrated and on every network on the dial. In Communist China this is his reward.

When people complain about the US or speak about how they think communism is OK, they need see and remember stories like this. This is the reality of Communism and no amount of fudging will change it.
