It’s very much looking like Israel has decided that the left in the west rants are going to be ignored and that the Jewish state is going all in on destroying Hamas, damn the torpedoes full speed ahead. Hamas leaders have fled Qatar and the rats seem to be abandoning the sinking ship even to the point of floating albeit briefly recognizing Israel’s right to exist.
Granted it’s still going to take several months of mopping up but the real question is: what happens next?
The citizens of Gaza might not like the destruction that’s been wrought against them thanks to Hamas’ actions. They might even be pissed about their taking the aid sent to them to build a terror infrastructure, but this doesn’t translate into liking Israel or even not wanting Jews dead, they just doesn’t like the consequences of the various attempts to kill the Jews..
Remember these aren’t polls of Hamas members these are pols of Palestinians.
I submit and suggest that’s it’s impossible for Israel to allow Gaza to govern itself if the population is simply go back to killing Jews under their own banner rather than under the Hamas banner. Furthermore you can’t make peace with people determined to kill you, you can impose peace, you can as General Sherman put it make war so horrible that it will be decades before they consider turning to it.
So what is the solution? What should be done with Gaza when the last member of Hamas is sent to get his virgins? Feel free to put your suggestion in comments and next week I’ll give you mine.
I was looking up an old post of mine from the internet archive and accidently came across this piece from 2012 concerning showing some things never change:
The Common Thread of the left: Today Israel & Hamas
by Datechguy | November 23rd, 2012
The latest in our series of the common thread of the left
As of this writing a “Truce” is in effect between Israel & Hamas. The left and media during this crisis has pilloried Israel
NBC News reporter Ayman Mohyeldin seemed to take a strong position, rather than just reporting, on the United States’ role in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He effectively blamed the unresolved crisis on the United States’ refusal to recognize Hamas and for not doing enough to reign in Israel’s military actions.
This ignores the fact that this wasn’t a crisis when Israel was being shot at, it only became a crisis when Israel began shooting back. (emphasis not in original post DTG)
Back in mid-June, during the great Paris weapons show, the Rafael pavilion was absolutely the busiest around, and everybody wanted to look at the new, exciting, Iron Dome system, the greatest achievement in rocket defense ever. But by the end of the show, Rafael hadn’t made a single sale. The Arrow sold well, other systems did great – Iron Dome wasn’t moving. So they contacted their big clients, the serious ones, and asked what gives. And those clients told them no one except Israel has any use for these things. Because in any normal, sane country, if some hooligans were to start targeting civilians with rockets – the army would go and kill them. emphasis mine
So in public Israel needs to show restraint, in private Hamas and their rocket firing friends are “some hooligans” than normal people would just go kill?
I object to the use of the term “Hooligans” it’s not like they are a bunch of bikers dragging their murdered people behind them as they ride…oh wait:
The six “were caught red-handed” with high-tech filming equipment to take videos of military positions, according to a security source quoted by the Hamas Aqsa radio. The men were shot.
Militants hooked the body of one alleged spy to a motorcycle and dragged him through the streets of Gaza City.
Yeah that sounds like “hooligans” to me.
If you are as old as me you remember when Reagan called the Soviets an “Evil Empire” the left went absolutely nuts. Speaking the truth aloud is just not done…but more on that tomorrow
Hamas tortured and murdered 25-year-old Israeli hostage, Sahar Baruch, who was taken to Gaza following the October 7 terrorist attack, the Israel media reported Sunday. Baruch, an engineering student at Ben-Gurion University, was kidnapped by terrorist intruders from his family home in Kibbutz Be’eri, a small community in southern Israel.
Earlier this week, Hamas claimed that Baruch had died during a failed attempt by the IDF to rescue hostages. But the propaganda video released by the terrorist group after Baruch’s death show his disfigured face with eyes gauged out—showing signs of similar sadistic torture and mutilations carried out by Hamas during the October 7 massacre.
A Hamas spokesman suggested Sunday that the terror organization could kill all of the presumed 137 hostages in its custody if Israel does not accede to its demands.
Abu Obeida, a familiar spokesman for Hamas who had not been seen for several weeks, released a video in which he made the threat clear.
“Neither the fascist enemy and its arrogant leadership… nor its supporters… can take their prisoners alive without an exchange and negotiation and meeting the demands of the resistance,” he said, according to the Times of Israel.
It is not clear if Hamas would deliver on that threat. The hostages are the only leverage that Hamas has over Israel, and it uses them as human shields. The Hamas leaders in exile — in luxurious accommodation in Doha, Qatar — would also likely to preserve the hostages alive to ensure that Israel negotiates with them, rather than killing them (as it has promised to do, eventually).
All of this comes down to calling evil good and pretending that objective truth doesn’t exist in order to win political points, oh and arab money freely flowing.
Katherine McClintock: [walking out of her bedroom to find G.W. and Mrs. Warren at the bottom of the stairs] What’s going on here?
George Washington McLintock: [Intoxicated, with Mrs. Warren sitting on his lap] Now Katherine, are you going to believe what you see, or what I tell you?

One of the fact of life is that people reap what they sow.
The head of the Council on American–Islamic Relations @NihadAwad says that he was “happy to see people breaking the siege” on October 7.
"Happy" terrorists massacred 1,200 people "Happy" terrorists raped women and children "Happy" terrorists took 240 people hostage "Happy"… pic.twitter.com/IBKoTK51jJ
The White House is frantically trying to distance itself from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) after its executive director Nihad Awad claimed he was “happy” to watch the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack unfold. Speaking at the 16th Annual Convention for Palestine in the U.S. on Nov. 24, he said that the people of Gaza were merely “breaking the siege”
Now in response to the incredible backlash CAIR has put out the following statement:
Far be it for me to tell you what to believe so feel free to look at the video and read that statement and decide who is telling the truth and who is not?
Jedediah Tucker Ward:It’s not hypothetical to Dr. Pavel, he wrote it.
Michael Grazier:So he says.
Jedediah Tucker Ward:So he says under oath.
Class Action 1991
There are three reasons why we should not be surprised at either the testimony of these “ladies” who are running elite colleges concerning calling for the genocide of Jews
or the sudden volte face when no longer under oath from Penn
Statement from President Gay: There are some who have confused a right to free expression with the idea that Harvard will condone calls for violence against Jewish students. Let me be clear: Calls for violence or genocide against the Jewish community, or any religious or ethnic…
You see when under oath you are in a position that there are sanctions for lying so as long as they were under oath they didn’t want to assert something that would have been provably false. Particularly with GOP representatives ready to call them out on it.
But once they were no longer under oath, they could make any assertion they wanted without fear of the law.
2. Support for Antifa & BLM
The second reason is less legalistic. At colleges all over the country we have seen people support and even join in on the looting and torching of American cities since 2018. We have seen such actions defended and even promoted by groups on campus with facility and administration giving very public support to such things.
Given those facts how could they credibly claim that such statements are violations the policies of their universities.
3. He Who Pays the Piper Calls the Tune:
The third reason is a bit more mercenary and can be summarized in one word: CASH:
Over 200 US universities including elite institutions Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology have been accused of raking in $13 billion in “undocumented contributions from foreign governments,” according to a new report.
I’ll say this for these universities, when someone buys them they stay bought.
4. No Enemies on the Left
Finally let’s look at a simple reality.
If I walked onto the campus of Harvard, or MIT, or Penn or frankly almost any university in Massachusetts and sat down to pray my Rosary with a sign next to me that said:
There are two genders
Transgenderism is a form of mental illness
Marriage is between a man and a woman
I would likely at best be escorted forcibly off campus and at worst surrounded and attacked by a raging mob of leftists with no consideration of my 1st Amendment rights. After all I’m a conservative Catholic who actually believes
But the reality is that those people who are screaming “From the River to the Sea” and calling for the death of Jews are reliable votes for Democrats and for all the failings of modern Universities they can do the Ghastly Tom Hagen Math:
Right now the left has the Gays and the Transgenders and the Hollywood elites & media in which they are overrepresented and they figure that’s the best things to have, but in America Islam is a thing of the future. In 20 years the children of Muslims now being raised on the tenets of Sharia law in America will be old enough to vote and Democrats going to make sure they get those votes when the time come, not now but 10-20 years from now.
It’s only been seven years since I wrote those words but they are certainly coming true.
Frankly if they wanted to deflect the question all they would have had to say, is something like:
“While I and the university find such speech horrific as long as it’s just speech it’s not actionable under the Constitution. The first amendment doesn’t have an exception for ‘evil'”.
Alas for them, such a statement would be the source of many lawsuits for all those who have been cancelled, fired and harassed over the last few years for having mainstream conservative opinions.
The left never expels useful idiots until their usefulness is over.
