…Al Sharpton and a parade of democrats defending Harry Reid and/or ignoring Bill Clinton on a show that only exists because those same people attacked a shock jock for the same thing.

Tucker Carlson (who still hasn’t hired me) has launched his new Daily Caller site. One story caught my eye at once because it would never be a big deal in the MSM The Michael Yon story:

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport officials recently interrogated and handcuffed Army Green Beret-turned-reporter Michael Yon because he refused to tell them how much money he makes.

Ten days after the underwear bomber’s foiled attack aboard Flight 253 to Detroit, the award-winning war correspondent was detained by U.S. Customs Border and Protection after having spent most of the last 12 months reporting from the front lines of Afghanistan.

Naturally this is a story known in the blogosphere and we’ve mentioned it here but it’s good that it gets exposure on day one since this is the day he will get the most MSM hits, back to the story:

Yon said the incident seemed neither contrived nor politically motivated. “It was more like spontaneous incompetence,” he said, adding that in his travels to more than 50 countries he had never been treated so badly. Moreover, Yon has written about undue harassment at the border before, and said he doesn’t believe this was a result of increased security in the wake of the Christmas day incident.

“I am a U.S. citizen. If a cop on the street asked me how much money I make, I wouldn’t answer him either,” he said. “I wish they would just release the tapes so we could be done with this.”

The sad thing is Yon has been producing first class reports on the War on Terror for years and hasn’t been noticed. (Well we’ve noticed him). If he was known half as well as he should be, he would never have been stopped.

One of my biggest regrets was missing a chance to interview him on the HiWired blog about 3 years ago, we exchanged e-mails but we just kept missing each other.

And Tucker just a reminder: $800 a week, I’d even be willing to start at $650 on a trial basis and you can have me full time.

Q: Judging by the MSM coverage what is the advice that Brit Hume should have given Tiger Woods?

After all it seems that the forgiveness that Christ offers has it’s greatest effect primarily after death, but the forgiveness that being a liberal democrat brings covers you at once.

It covered Ted Kennedy , it covered Bill Clinton and now it covers Harry Reid. It doesn’t cover Don Imus or George Allen or Trent Lott.

Robert Stacy’s brilliant post not withstanding it’s not mine or Glenn Reynolds, or Andrew Sullivan’s forgiveness that matters, its the MSM’s.

…and that MSM is an ally of the Democratic party. The party that defended slavery, the party that preached secession, the party of Separate but equal, Jim Crow and Segregation forever. That party has decided to give Harry Reid absolution so the media will too.

It is standards like this that polarizes this country. They should be ashamed.

Update: Adrienne is right on the money:

I’m so tired of people taking offense and railing over each other about every perceived slight. “I’m offended” has become modern man’s mantra.

I’m with her.

…this is what they see and are attacking:

The 23-year-old holidaymaker said she was attacked by a waiter working at her hotel.

But when she reported the attack to police she was arrested for drinking in an unlicensed premises and for having sex outside marriage with her 44-year-old British boyfriend.

Yeah just like those Christianists to be acting like this but there is more…

Today it was revealed that the woman has been told that she must drop the rape allegation, admit she was drunk at the time and marry her fiancee if she wants to return to Britain.

The British Embassy in the emirate will marry the couple within weeks in the hope that lawyers will drop charges against her.

Now unless you are living on planet secular human liberal you of course know that this story takes place in the Islamic country of Dubai and the people involved are Muslims

As foreigners from Europe they normally would not be leaned on so but in this case:

it is likely officers were more strict because the couple are Muslim.

Yesterday, a former cellmate of the woman told a newspaper: ‘She’s a British girl but a Muslim, so they were tougher on her.

‘She was trying to report the rape but soon realized the policemen were more interested in how often she has sex with her boyfriend.’

There are a lot of words you can describe justice like this, being a calm and diplomatic sort I describe it the act of barbarian bastards.

When you hear about Sharia courts and that kind of thing in Europe and Canada and non-integrated this is what is coming, and do you know what the worst part that prospect is?

…the worst part is the prospect of a 2nd horrible criminal double standard like the one I’ve already written about:

Much like inner city violence, gang violence, drugs, the slaughter and destruction of Black communities, it is ignored because it is being done by people of the same skin color and being run like political fiefdoms. As long as those fiefdoms provide the votes by (maybe buy) hook or crook all is well. And any attempt to make change, then those who are supported financially by said fiefdom scream bloody murder and racism.

The end result of this type of thing is going to be virtual serfdom of Sharia for Muslims who come to the west. If you aren’t upset by this you should be. If you are more upset by Brit Hume than by this, then you really gotta sit down and think.

Update: In other news concerning the religion of peace:

Firebombs were thrown at three more churches in Malaysia on Sunday and another was splashed with black paint, the latest in a series of assaults on Christian houses of worship following a court decision allowing non-Muslims to use “Allah” to refer to God.

CNN gave a full segment with pundits to talk about Hume today, The media talked about this for a week. I wonder if they will give this much, if any, coverage?
