Has it really only been a week?

If nothing else the last seven days has proved one of my favorite maxims about “Conventional Wisdom” true:

Conventional Wisdom is ALWAYS correct…right up until the moment it isn’t

Donald Trump has pretty much been following the old military maxim to not get in the way when your enemy is falling apart however he did interject himself slightly with a post on Truth social offering to go mano a mano in a 90 minute no moderator live debate anytime any place to give Joe Biden a chance to prove his assertion that’s he fine.

The White House can only ignore this offer as even if it’s held first thing in the morning with a gag tied around Trump’s mouth there is no way Joe “Black Woman” Biden could do this without disaster.

What a difference a week makes eh?

Van Jones is already saying the decision has been made to replace Biden even though:

  1. Biden insists he’s staying
  2. Legally he can’t be made to leave without his own consent or his death

The most effective way to remove the left’s no longer useful idiot Biden other than killing him and pretending it’s old age (at least plausible) or not catching him “in time” at his next fall (again plausible) would be to threaten to allow Merrick Garland to suddenly “discover” proof of all of the deals where the big man got his 10% but that of course conflicts with the new narrative of Biden as a “decent” man (a word I’m not heard to describe him in his 50 year career who has done good service but is now too old to go on.

We will know tonight after his interview with George “The fixer” Stephanopoulos. As the interview is taped we will know what the orders from those actually running the country are by the cut of that interview.

If it shows Biden in the best possible light in terms of lucidity then we know that they’ve decided the poll number demand Biden stay.

If it shows a cut where Biden is sympathetic but unable to function then you know the decision has been made to dump him and it’s just a matter of forcing the matter.

We’ll know tonight

The press is still going all out to try to pretend that they knew absolutely nothing about Joe Biden’s mental decline. At the moment their credibility is as healthy as the UK conservative party who just lost in a landslide to labor thanks to the emergence of the UK Reform party. This has to change if they are to be an effective weapon for the left in a 2nd Trump Term

While they will likely find enough people who want to be fooled to play along we now need a new nickname for the MSM. The obvious choice is the Schultz Brigade as they insist they saw nothing and knew NUTHing about Biden’s mental state

But as that reference even with the Family Guy update is a tad dated I think given their united insistence until 8 days ago that all of the video of Biden demonstrating his mental state were “deepfakes” I think from this point on the Mainstream Media should now be called the #deepshitmedia or if you want to be more polite and less accurate the #deepfakemedia

I’m fine with either choice

Finally if Joe Biden resigns from the president and Kamala Harris becomes POTUS the left will insist on a quick choice for VP as she would be one heartbeat away from America’s 3rd President Johnson.

To me the obvious choice is former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.

There are several reasons why he would be an excellent pick that checks several important boxes

  1. His pick would not be would not be a threat to any up and coming dem
  2. As an old man at the end of his career a six month stint as VP would not be beyond him
  3. He has name recognition and popularity among the black vote which the Dems need
  4. His record in SF would appeal to the left.
  5. He’s still articulate and would have no issue defending this administration

All solid and practical reasons but most of all it would be payback not only for a lifetime of service to the Democrat party but would be a personal sign of gratitude from the first woman president acknowledging that she would not have risen to the most powerful position in the world without his discovering her and giving her career the most passionate forward thrusts he could.

An important and realistic lesson to all young girls on the easiest way for a woman to get ahead.

As I’ve been pondering who is actually running this country a thought hit me.

For a very long time we’ve been told that Joe Biden’s team skipped the normal primary order in order to maximize the black vote which he had an advantage with and discourage primary opponents. That statement was very plausible and everyone including me believed that this was the primary reason for this decision.

Well now an even more plausible explanation comes to the forefront. Consider this:

  • On July 4, 2021, Biden hosted a party on the South Lawn in which he declared “independence” from the coronavirus pandemic.
  • It was a hot day and after hours outside, Biden went back into the White House through the Diplomatic Room, and then into the nearby Map Room.
  • Biden sat down and the door was abruptly shut as Biden’s aides blocked the White House butlers and residence staff from aiding the president.

They suggested to the staffers that the president was just a little overheated. But the episode left residence staff feeling like his close aides were creating a barrier around anything possibly related to the president’s health, the former official said.

Two points:

  1. This is from Axos not Breitbart, not Fox News, not Hotair, not Me. They are left Left LEFT.
  2. This event is from 2021 which means this has gone on for YEARS!

In other word this has been known for years.

And THAT’S why there is no way Joe Biden could take part in the New Hampshire Primary.

I have covered the NH primary in person. It is all about meeting people face to face, talking to people face to face dealing with individuals.

There is absolutely no way Joe Biden could do this and hide the state of his decline to New Hampshire voters. Not in intimate and personal settings, it would not be done. If he went there as he is and tried to do so he would have not only lost the primary to whatever democrat faced him, he would have lost the nomination.

And that would be that the Obama team would no longer be in charge of this White House, of the foreign policy of the US, of the economic policy of the US. It would be all over.

And THIS is the reason why Joe Biden skipped the New Hampshire primary, not to discourage any challenger but to preserve his candidacy which would have ended right there in the Granite State.

In case you wondered before, now you know.

By John Ruberry

Now that people who only get their news from MSNBC, CNN, the Washington Post, and the New York Times have learned that Joe Biden is suffering from severe cognitive decline, there is an understandable panic among Democrats, as well as calls to replace him on the fall ballot.

Had Biden chosen a running mate in 2020 based on the ability to serve as president, instead of identitarianism, the answer would be easy regarding a replacement at the top of the ticket, the sitting vice president. But Kamala Harris is the veep. This dopey DEI hire, until last week perhaps, polled even worse than Biden. She’s the poster child of a symptom of public sector incompetence: failing upwards.

Harris checked three boxes–Black, Asian, and female. Michigan’s governor, Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan’s governor, who was said to be a finalist to be Biden’s running mate, checked only one.

Harris may still end up on top of the ticket if Biden bails, partly because the money raised so far by the Biden-Harris campaign can only be transferred to one other candidate–the president’s running mate. Also, the Dems may want to avoid a rancorous battle to replace Biden–and stick with Sleepy Joe–then hope for the best in 2028, because Donald J. Trump can only serve one term.

Whitmer is part of the whispering campaign to replace Biden, as are three other governors, California’s Gavin Newsom, Pennsylvania’s Josh Shapiro, and Illinois’ J.B. Pritzker.

Since I live in the Prairie State, I’m going to discuss Pritzker. Two years ago, when he was running for reelection, I covered Pritzker’s shortcomings in this DTG post, Reasons to oppose Pritzker for governor and president. That blog entry is in need of an update. Of course, the problems I listed in 2022 haven’t gone away.

Crime and the SAFE-T Act: Lawlessness was a problem in Illinois two years ago, particularly in Chicago and its inner suburbs. I live in one of those suburbs.

While the murder rate has gone a little bit in Chicago, assaults and thefts, particularly automobile thefts, have gone up. I haven’t been able to locate state statistics on crime, I’m confident they’re also bad.

Over three years ago, Pritzker signed into law the pro-criminal SAFE-T Act, making Illinois the first state to abolish cash bail. Criminality in Illinois was already encouraged by the catch-and-release prosecution policy of Cook County’s George Soros-funded state’s attorney, Kim Foxx.

Pritzker and the Democrats must have had qualms about the SAFE-T Act, because it was set to take effect nearly two years after the governor signed it into law. A court challenge delayed that until last fall–just as violent crime makes it annual seasonal decline.

We are now a month into the first summer of the SAFE-T Act. In June, there were two egregious murders where the accused were free on pre-trial release. Jai’mani Amir Rivera, who was seven years-old, was shot to death on Chicago’s West Side was shot to death by a teen on electronic monitoring. Also on the West Side, a retired Chicago police officer, Larry Neuman, was fatally gunned down by two teens, both of them were on pre-trial release–one of the pair was on electronic monitoring.

To be fair, even without the SAFE-T Act, with Foxx as the so-called prosecutor, these thugs may have walked free. But Chicago’s failures are being replicated statewide.

Pritzker is active on X, he discusses a wide range of topics.

I can’t remember the last time he mentioned the SAFE-T Act.

Obviously, he knows it’s a problem for him. It’s a more deadly problem for Illinois’ 12 million residents.

Health: I’m going to hurt some readers feelings with this segment.

Shortly after his inauguration, Jimmy Carter released his federal tax returns to the public. And since then, Donald Trump being a notable exception, most presidential candidates have followed suit.

Health records are probably next.

Now that the president’s cognitive decline is an established fact for everyone except for the Biden bitter-clingers, look for future presidential candidates to release specific details on their health, perhaps even making their personal physicians available to the media for unrestricted questioning.

Pritzker is morbidly obese. According to the Mayo Clinic, that condition is “associated with many diseases responsible for a high prevalence of morbidity and mortality, such as insulin-resistant diabetes mellitus, hypertension, coronary artery disease, hyperlipidemia [high cholesterol], and sleep apnea.”

Standards and expectations are understandably much higher for president than for a governor. Pritzker’s health will be an issue if he makes a White House run.

How heavy is Pritzker? I don’t know. But he’s weighty enough to likely cause a femur stress fracture by just standing. J.B. doesn’t even know how that bone broke. I had a stress fracture once–it was one of my fibulas. I know how I got mine–it was from running 32 marathons in 20 years.

Not reaching across the aisle: Harris is a predictable result of a bad candidate winning office in a state dominated by one party. Her goofiness–both in demeanor and in political views–is not enough of an impediment for her to lose to a Republican in California. Gavin Newsom is much more seasoned and serious, but he’s another example. In 2004, when he was governor of San Francisco, he announced a 10-year plan to end chronic homelessness. There are more homeless people in San Francisco now than there has ever been twenty years later.

Harris, who was a US senator and the attorney general from California, didn’t have to, metaphorically speaking, reach across the aisle to win statewide. There are not enough Republicans in the Golden State to stop a Harris–or a Newsom.

Pritzker, while enormously popular in the Chicago area and university towns, is generally hated downstate. The Democrats enjoy supermajorities in the General Assembly. Which means Pritzker doesn’t need Republicans to rule.

In the 2022 race, in many downstate counties, Pritzker’s Republican opponent, Darren Bailey, won more than 80 percent of the vote. In rural Edwards County, in southeastern Illinois, Bailey romped with 88 percent of the ballots, while in heavily Democratic Cook County, where Chicago lies, Pritzker collected a more modest 73 percent. About 1.4 million votes were cast in Cook so you can see how Pritzker comfortably won reelection, since the statewide vote total was four million in 2022.

Illinois’ listless media, dominated by leftists, rarely challenges Pritzker.

The governor’s speaking style is condescending. As I’ve remarked before, when he talks, he reminds me of a closer at a timeshare presentation. Yuck.

To win the presidency, no candidate can rely on one party’s votes. To govern effectively, a president needs to work with both parties.

Gerrymandering: With so many Republicans outside of Chicago, why do the Democrats have supermajorities in the General Assembly? It’s because of gerrymandering. As a candidate during his first run for governor, Pritzker vowed to veto gerrymandered legislative maps. He lied. Nationally, the Dems blame gerrymandering for not having a majority in the House of Representatives. While presidents have no power over state remaps, Pritzker’s gerrymandering flip flop certainly betrays a lack of character.

Depopulation: Like California, Illinois is losing residents. High taxes, a high crime rate, and high regulations are the catalyst. And as I mentioned earlier, with little or no political opposition, Illinois government is an echo chamber of liberal failure.

Pritzker has been governor for over five years. If Illinois is so great, why has state’s population gone down every year for the last decade?

Gaza: For the most part, I’ve supported Pritzker’s pro-Israel stance in its war with the Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Although the governor has not condemned the loud anti-Semitic voices within the Democratic Party, such as Rashida Tlaib and Jamaal Bowman. His silence on the Jew-haters in his party is disturbing.

Pritzker is Jewish. But since the Democrats are increasingly the anti-Semitic party–anti-Israel Dems like Bernie Sanders are given a pass from the pro-Hamas activists–his faith could be a problem for him. Sad, but true, in my opinion. Pennsylvania’s Shapiro, who is also Jewish, is pro-Israel too.

But the voters most likely to agree, generally that is, with Pritzker and Shapiro on Gaza are Republicans.

Pensions: Illinois’ public pensions are among the worst funded among the 50 states. The pension crisis–created by both parties–has not been adequately addressed by Pritzker. Great leaders solve difficult problems. Despite new taxes, Pritzker’s latest budget shorts Illinois’ pension plans. Such malfeasance is how Illinois ended up in this mess.

Education: Pritzker did nothing to stop Illinois legislators from letting Illinois’ school choice program expire. Thirty states have some sort of school choice program, Illinois is the first to end one. Just 27 percent of Illinois students perform at grade level in math, and only 35 percent of students read at grade level.

Obviously, Democrats, including Pritzker, are more interested in kowtowing to the teacher unions than educating Illinois’ kids. Who would Pritzker nominate to be Education secretary? A radical along the lines of Chicago Teachers Union president Stacy Davis Gates?

I covered additional negatives in my first post about a potential Pritzker presidential run. Those demerits include his tax scam to lower property taxes on his Chicago mansion by removing toilets from the mansion adjacent to his–which he also owned, as well as his ties, not deep, but ties they are, with Boss Michael Madigan, who faces trial later this year for corruption, as well as a connection with one of Illinois’ ex-con governors, Rod Blagojevich.

Pritzker is in the second tier of possible Biden replacements. His negatives are apparent, but the billionaire governor has contributed millions of his own funds to finance his gubernatorial campaigns, and he’s been a generous donor to other Democrats’ campaigns, so he can call in a lot of favors, which is what he did to bring the Democratic National Convention to Chicago this summer.

Because of his fat wallet, Pritzker can hit the ground running–not literally, of course–if he needs to start a presidential campaign tomorrow. But for now, like Newsom and Whitmer, Pritzker is firmly in Biden’s corner.

Conservatives, we need to keep a wary eye on Pritzker. If not in 2024, then in 2028. We laughed off Biden five years ago.

Morning Joe 5/16/16 discussing Jeffrey Epstein publicly for the 1st time

Prime Minister Jim Hacker: You’ve been briefed by MI5

Sir Arnold Robertson: Indeed Prime Minister

Prime Minister Jim Hacker: Bad Business

Sir Arnold Robertson: Unfortunate

Prime Minister Jim Hacker: Disastrous I’d say

Sir Arnold Robertson: Not disastrous surely, it will never come out.

Prime Minister Jim Hacker: You’ve mean things are only disastrous if people find out about them?

Sir Arnold Robertson: Of course

Yes Prime Minister: One of Us 1986

8 years ago in May the defining moment, at least to me, of the Presidential campaign of 2016 took place when this segment aired on Morning Joe:

I wrote about this at the time and noted the following:

take a look at the video and two things become immediately clear.

Everybody at the Table knows who Jeffery Epstein is, and what the story is

Nobody at the table wanted to talk about it

It’s also worth noting 7 years later that while people keep trying to connect Trump with Epstein today, NOBODY at the table even slightly hinted that there was any connection with Trump & Epstein.

At the time this segment took place MSNBC did something they didn’t usually do, they made copyright claims on this segment and made it very hard to find, but I was a daily Morning Joe viewer so I knew where to find it, albeit with some difficulty.

I can see the NBC reaction now: Nonsense, we’re not censoring the clip at all. The seven minute clip IS available IF you

  • Go to the Morning Joe site
  • Hit search taking you to the MSNBC search engine
  • Search for Donald Trump
  • Narrow the field to Morning Joe
  • Narrow the field to May 16th 2016
  • and sit through all the videos till you find the right one.
  • And skip ahead to the 12 minute mark on that video.

If you do so you CAN find the clip and watch the Morning Joe panel’s reaction to what Donny Deutsch says

Well Donald Trump won the election and Jeffrey Epstein crimes became public knowledge and the celebs who mixed with him freely because he was a friend of the Clintons were suddenly publicly aghast causing Stephen Green to say:

I’d take their apparent umbrage more seriously had they covered the story with this much energy any time from, say, 2009 to last Friday.

Well Epstein went to jail (where he DIDN’T kill himself) and the fact that everyone with power on the left and media knew and didn’t care until the public found out faded from memory.

Now it’s happening again.

Today all over the news is the talk that Barack Obama and others are approaching Joe Biden urging him to leave the Presidential Race, for the good of the country, all over the New York Times were editorials insisting that old Joe drop out. On Morning Joe Joe Scarborough the same Joe Scarborough who not a month ago insisted that Joe Biden was the sharpest knife in the drawer was saying this:

And he is being joined by so many others all bemoaning what we all saw.

The thing is that all of these have one thing in common. ALL OF THEM INSISTED THAT JOE BIDEN WAS FINE AND THAT SUGGESTING OTHERWISE WAS A CONSPIRACY THEORY.

Here is the supercut:

Meanwhile four months ago while all these people were saying Joe Biden was fine to the American people Italian Television was running comedy skits like this about Biden

Bottom line this was all out there and people knew, as Byron York put it:

But it is clear that for years, Democrats at all levels of the party have looked the other way, buried their heads in the sand, and lied to themselves about Biden’s condition. Just in recent weeks, they have nodded their heads in approval when sympathetic journalists attributed troubling video of Biden to Republican “cheapfakes.” They have told themselves the GOP was spreading lies about the president’s condition. This month they looked at Biden standing frozen for two minutes amid a joyous concert and explained it by saying he was never much of a dancer. They deceived themselves.

Then, at about 9:01 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, the self-deception stopped. The CNN debate presented a brutal picture of the president’s condition. Until now, everyone’s comparison of Biden’s vs. Trump’s mental and physical abilities rested on comparing videos of the two men in different situations and at different events. In the debate, they were side by side in real time on a TV split screen. The contrast was unavoidable. Biden looked out of it. Trump looked with it.

Even the farthest left of the farthest left understood what the real scandal was:

Cenk Uygur on being lied to by the left

Bill Akerman who recently had his eyes opened by the left’s embrace of the “death to the Jews Crowd” had a longer thing to say let me excerpt his tweet:

Left wing media have had total and complete access to the president, his staff, and his administration. They all knew, but they told you otherwise. They outright lied to you. When Robert Hur, the special counsel who deposed the president, said that the president was not fit to stand trial and therefore chose not to bring charges, the media described him as a tool of the Republican Party and character assassinated him. When the

@WSJ recently published a several-thousand-word, carefully researched, front page piece on the president’s mental and physical health, it was described by left wing media as outright propaganda. Now consider who has been feeding you propaganda.

Bryon York again:

Of course he is not up to being president until he is 86 years old. He’s not up to being president right now. The question is, why didn’t everybody already know that?”

The scandal here isn’t that Joe Biden isn’t competent to be president, the scandal here is that all the people in media and government knew for months or even years that this was the case, but carried on as if it was not and let whoever who has been running the country (I’m Betting the Obama team) since his “election” carry on and would have been happy to continue doing so until the events of Thursday evening.

In other words to all those people who lied for years, to paraphrase Sir Arnold, It’s wasn’t disastrous or dangerous for a person who wasn’t compos mentis to be President of the United States, at least in name, until YOU the public found out about it. Then it became a disaster.

Just like Jeffrey Epstein.

UPDATE: Two quotes accidently were merged in the same area fixed

Update 2: Let’s have a poll

Am I the only one who thinks this is actually the most important question out there right now?
