I think the only people in the media left whose opinion on Joe Biden should be considered are Cenk Uygur & Bill Maher as they were the only two people willing to acknowledge Joe Biden’s state before June 27 2024.

Given that Joe Biden is the exact same man today as he was on June 26th 2024 when the entire media/left except Maher & Uygur insisted he was fine and dandy and the utilitarian nature of leftist’s like him, can anybody explain to me what is Joe Biden’s incentive to voluntarily surrender either the Democrat Nomination or the presidency?

It hit me today that Joe Biden mental state being what it is might all the lawfare against Conservatives in general (Bannon, Praying Grandmothers etc) and Donald Trump in particular be a function not so much of the Biden Administration/campaign and it’s mentally failing leader but Merrick Garland himself taking personal revenge on those he blames for keeping off of the Supreme Court?

If the left embracing and protecting people who want them dead has only cost the Democrats ten points among Jews, why would anybody think that the revelations about media lies concerning Joe Biden would make a big difference to an electorate whose lives are not at stake?

Finally Boston fans enjoying a young and dynamic RedSox team surging into the final wild card spot and prepare to surge perhaps even higher should not forget this would not have been possible if the now fired Chaim Bloom had listened to all those folks in the media who wanted him to deal away these prospects who are now making their mark.

Paint Your Wagon 1969

The primary plan of the Democrat party for election 2024 was three fold:

  • Lawfare against Donald Trump to cripple his candidacy (Backfired spectacularly)
  • Avoid the Biden record and discussion of Biden at all costs (partly successful)
  • Make the election about Donald Trump (failing)

The lawfare against Trump has been intensive, varied and if nothing else creative. Alas it has run so over the top that the American people have seen it for what it is. Combine this with the Supreme Court not enabling these legal machinations (alas Dems can’t cherry pick the judges on SCOTUS and while Justice Roberts Old Yellowstain alone is enough to send Steve Bannon to jail he’s not enough to change a vote with 5 justices already calling BS on the dems.

On avoiding Biden’s record there has been mixed success here on one hand there has almost been nothing said about the Biden record, at least nothing truthful. Democrats and their media buddies still insist the Biden economy, you know the one that caused my employer to give my shift the choice of either a 10% cut in hours or a voluntary day off today (I took the 10% and am going in for the half day today) is spectacular, still avoid calling him out of Russia, Israel, the rise of Iran and even the depletion of the strategic oil reserve not to mention the rise of antisemitism in leftist enclaves nationwide. The complaint media still has Joe Biden’s back there.

What they CAN’T hide since 9 pm on June 27th is the dementia and being desperate to conceal their complicity in enabling the grift for the last four years have gone all in for the big lie that they had no idea and thus are treating Joe Biden campaign’s insistence that he’s fine with all the credibility that they treat anyone who threatens the power of the left. This has become the only story in the country as the left is in full panic mode. It’s so bad that comics now feel comfortable making Joe Biden jokes and that a true disaster.

The real problem here is that if Biden fails to leave on his own and the left is unable to kill him without plausible deniability (don’t doubt for a moment they wouldn’t) the press is going to have to pivot to protecting Biden at all costs. That’s going to be a neat trick.

But it’s plan C, making the election about Donald Trump that has been the hardest thing. It’s been hampered by two developments, one foreseen and one unforeseen.

The foreseen element is that Trump was president for four years and his record of success compared to the Biden years is in living memory. To use my own example, as I mentioned my own job gave us a choice to lose 10% of our hours this week involuntarily or lose 1/4 of our ours voluntarily, I suspect it’s too make up for the paid holiday last week. During the Trump years when we still had 3 warehouses instead of one in the town where I work and when we still had a 2nd shift a paid holiday meant we were notified that we would have a mandatory 8 hour shift on one of our days off to handle the volume we lost. That’s how busy we always were. Lying about and avoiding the subject has proved effective with Trump haters but not so much with people actually effected by the Biden economy but that was always a tough sell and it was to be expected.

What was NOT expected was Donald Trump making the case that he at only 4 years younger than Biden is cognitive enough to see the situation on the ground and adapt. It’s very hard to get a person in their 70’s to change their style and Trump’s style is to be in the limelight.

But having seen the train wreck he quickly figured out that the best and wisest course of action is to keep doing his rallies that the left media continues to ignore (as they can’t allow Trump to be heard unfiltered) while not making headlines. I would even not be surprised if he is reconsidering his VP choice as some states move closer to his column. A popular GOP figure from Minnesota, Michigan or even New Jersey which is now in play could change everything. I would not even be surprised to see Governor Sununu being considered (to the horror of some of us) to bring NH into the fold.

The democrat media complex could not foresee that Trump. the lover of the spotlight, would have the discipline to do this and this discipline has driven them completely off the rails not only because it proves that even in his late 70’s his cognitive and strategic functions are still on the ball but because it doesn’t allow them to change the subject so the election can be about something other than Joe Biden.

It’s just goes to show that the good Lord works in mysterious ways.

“Christmas means carnage.” Ferdinand the duck, in the movie Babe.

“It’s assassination day…” is what a Chicago woman, Edith Pinkerton, according to ABC Chicago said of July 4, although Pinkerton may have been speaking of the next day, July 5, when her 74-year-old friend was wounded.

As of this writing, late Sunday afternoon on July 7, this Independence Day weekend has been quite bloody in Chicago. So far, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, over the long July 4th weekend, 17 people have been killed and at least 82 others have been wounded. Four mass shootings have so far occurred.

Back to July 5. According to Hey Jackass.com, last Friday, when 45 people were shot, that day was “the 3rd highest, single day total found in our dataset since 2013.”

Last year, a majority of Chicago’s severely misguided voters had a choice between Paul Vallas, a moderate law-and-order Democrat, and Brandon Johnson, a onetime supporter of the Defund the Police movement, who was pushed over the top by the far-left Chicago Teachers Union.

Johnson, closely followed by Chicago’s two major daily newspapers, the Sun-Times and the Tribune, as well as Crain’s Chicago Business, has been the chief minimizer of street mayhem in Chicago.

While he was still mayor-elect, when asked about a downtown flash mob riot, Johnson said it was important not to “demonize” the thugs. A couple of days later when asked about what Chicago’s listless media calls “unrest,” Johnson offered more sanitization of widespread lawlessness, “They’re young. Sometimes they make silly decisions.”

A central part of the mayor’s approach to crimefighting for this summer was to hire “violence interrupters.” During the mayoral campaign, Johnson suggested sending social workers to domestic incidents, instead of Chicago police officers.

To be fair, had Vallas prevailed, Chicago would still be a mess. She’ll be out of office in five months, but the policies of Kim Foxx, Cook County’s Soros-funded prosecutor, continue to wreak havoc. And as I’ve noted in prior DTG posts, this summer is the first one since Illinois’ SAFE-T Act, which abolishes cash bail, became law.

Two months ago, the mayor’s choice as Chicago police superintendant, Larry Snelling, said the city is short 2,000 cops.

Johnson, to placate his leftist base, wants to cancel the city’s contract with ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system, but not until after next month’s Democratic National Convention.

Chicago has almost three years to suffer under Brandon Johnson.

Rather than address the Chicago’s crime crisis, Johnson’s prefers to deflect. At the Juneteenth flag raising ceremony, Johnson called for reparations for Black people.

Speaking from the realm of common sense, Corey Brooks, Chicago’s legendary “Rooftop Pastor,” threw a bucket of cold water at that demand.

Where are the reparations for the city’s failure to produce adequate protection for its residents? Where are the reparations for the city’s failure to provide adequate schooling to inspire kids toward the American Dream instead of nihilistic violence? And where are the reparations for the city’s woke legal system that puts the interest of violent criminals above the interests of the city’s hardworking citizens?

For now, look for more Chicagoans to say, “It’s assassination day.”

UPDATE July 8, 7:15pm EDT:

The official July 4 weekend Chicago Police Department figures are in, and they’re brutal. There were 109 people wounded by gunfire during the long Independence Day weekend, 19 of them fatally.

At a press conference this morning not only did Mayor Johnson not take responsibility for the widespread bloodshed, but he blamed Republicans, including President Richard Nixon, who left office 50 years ago this summer. Chicago hasn’t had a GOP mayor since Big Bill Thompson–a crook by the away–who was voted out in 1931. While we’re at it, Democrats hold supermajorities–thanks to gerrymandering–in the state General Assembly, and Illinois hasn’t had a Republican governor since 2003, when another crook, George H. Ryan, retired. Of Chicago’s 50 alderpersons, none are Republican, although four or five have some conservative leanings.

On the other hand, there are six socialists in the Chicago City Council, but make that seven, in my opinion at least, when Mayor Johnson casts a tie-breaking vote.

Has it really only been a week?

If nothing else the last seven days has proved one of my favorite maxims about “Conventional Wisdom” true:

Conventional Wisdom is ALWAYS correct…right up until the moment it isn’t

Donald Trump has pretty much been following the old military maxim to not get in the way when your enemy is falling apart however he did interject himself slightly with a post on Truth social offering to go mano a mano in a 90 minute no moderator live debate anytime any place to give Joe Biden a chance to prove his assertion that’s he fine.

The White House can only ignore this offer as even if it’s held first thing in the morning with a gag tied around Trump’s mouth there is no way Joe “Black Woman” Biden could do this without disaster.

What a difference a week makes eh?

Van Jones is already saying the decision has been made to replace Biden even though:

  1. Biden insists he’s staying
  2. Legally he can’t be made to leave without his own consent or his death

The most effective way to remove the left’s no longer useful idiot Biden other than killing him and pretending it’s old age (at least plausible) or not catching him “in time” at his next fall (again plausible) would be to threaten to allow Merrick Garland to suddenly “discover” proof of all of the deals where the big man got his 10% but that of course conflicts with the new narrative of Biden as a “decent” man (a word I’m not heard to describe him in his 50 year career who has done good service but is now too old to go on.

We will know tonight after his interview with George “The fixer” Stephanopoulos. As the interview is taped we will know what the orders from those actually running the country are by the cut of that interview.

If it shows Biden in the best possible light in terms of lucidity then we know that they’ve decided the poll number demand Biden stay.

If it shows a cut where Biden is sympathetic but unable to function then you know the decision has been made to dump him and it’s just a matter of forcing the matter.

We’ll know tonight

The press is still going all out to try to pretend that they knew absolutely nothing about Joe Biden’s mental decline. At the moment their credibility is as healthy as the UK conservative party who just lost in a landslide to labor thanks to the emergence of the UK Reform party. This has to change if they are to be an effective weapon for the left in a 2nd Trump Term

While they will likely find enough people who want to be fooled to play along we now need a new nickname for the MSM. The obvious choice is the Schultz Brigade as they insist they saw nothing and knew NUTHing about Biden’s mental state

But as that reference even with the Family Guy update is a tad dated I think given their united insistence until 8 days ago that all of the video of Biden demonstrating his mental state were “deepfakes” I think from this point on the Mainstream Media should now be called the #deepshitmedia or if you want to be more polite and less accurate the #deepfakemedia

I’m fine with either choice

Finally if Joe Biden resigns from the president and Kamala Harris becomes POTUS the left will insist on a quick choice for VP as she would be one heartbeat away from America’s 3rd President Johnson.

To me the obvious choice is former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.

There are several reasons why he would be an excellent pick that checks several important boxes

  1. His pick would not be would not be a threat to any up and coming dem
  2. As an old man at the end of his career a six month stint as VP would not be beyond him
  3. He has name recognition and popularity among the black vote which the Dems need
  4. His record in SF would appeal to the left.
  5. He’s still articulate and would have no issue defending this administration

All solid and practical reasons but most of all it would be payback not only for a lifetime of service to the Democrat party but would be a personal sign of gratitude from the first woman president acknowledging that she would not have risen to the most powerful position in the world without his discovering her and giving her career the most passionate forward thrusts he could.

An important and realistic lesson to all young girls on the easiest way for a woman to get ahead.
