Yet another ad that can’t attack Windows 7

The newest Mac vs PC ad is out mentioning Windows seven and it has something in common with the first one…

…it can’t find anything bad to say about Windows 7. It plays the fear card but nary a word about the actual windows 7 operating system. And about that great customer service

If I’m Apple I’m afraid but not too afraid after all Microsoft needs them that’s why they invested 150 million in them. Microsoft does have anti-trust issues and if Mac dies those issues surface.

…but there are still people out that who don’t understand just how public a public wi-fi hotspot is:

Here’s what you need to know: Public hot-spots are — especially those that are open and don’t require a password — are, by design, insecure. Sure, they may be easy and convenient to hop on from your computer, but that very openness is also what allows anyone, particularly hacking criminals, to just walk in and sign on. In other words, when you’re signed on to a public Wi-Fi hotspot (or at an unsecured hotspot at your or someone’s private home), it’s entirely possible for someone to come along and snatch your data, literally out of the air.

If you are using important passwords or signing onto financial sites at open hotspots you are begging someone to steal your data. Don’t DO IT. It’s one thing to surf the web to catch up on sports and news but that is not meant for secure information.

And if you are still using WEP at home. STOP THAT. WEP was cracked almost 5 years ago!

I’ve been preaching this for years and years, if you won’t believe me then please believe this article. The time and expense you will save is all your own!

Project Valour IT. GO NAVY! BUMPED!

At HiWired we supported project Valor IT which was a great fit. That blog is long dead but I’m still the son of a Naval vet (Pacific theatre WW2) so Valor IT will follow me as will the Navy team.

I know how tough times are these days, maybe better than you think, but we can skip one trip through the drive through.

It doesn’t deal with Windows 7. It doesn’t critique the OS or anything about it. It simply points to the past and pretends that each windows OS was a failure. Some undoubtedly were (Windows MEss) but Apple can’t find actual snark to use about 7 itself.

Beyond anything else this shows that Apple is actually worried about Windows 7 and is the single best endorsement of the product that I can think of.

In honor of this inability lets put up something classic on the other side:

Slight language warning but it’s fun.
