The economic, physical, and cultural carnage caused by the Biden/Harris regime is everywhere.

To view the economic carnage all you have to do is shop for groceries on a regular basis. Walking down the main street of your town and seeing all of the closed stores and restaurants will also be illuminating.  Reading the lists of stores, restaurants, and other businesses closing each day online and in newspapers will also provide abundant evidence.

The physical carnage caused by the Biden/Harris regime has taken many forms.  The remaining devastation left over from Hurricane Helene in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky is a perfect example of this, along with the damage caused by BLM and ANTIFA rioters.  Add to the list a slew of shuddered factories.

The cultural carnage was caused by the Biden/Harris regime’s affinity for cultural Marxism in all of its many forms.  Thousands of lives have been ruined by their affinity for transgenderism.

To deny the carnage caused by the Biden/Harris regime is to deny reality itself.  Unfortunately, the denial of reality is one of the central pillars of Marxism.  Reality to those on the political left is simply an illusion.  The truth, facts, and logic are all subjective to leftists.  Feelings and ideology are all that matters to them.

The mainstream media exists to be the propaganda arm of the political left.  They shovel a distorted reality where all is perfection thanks to the genius of Biden and Harris.  They shovel that fantasy like the manure that it is.  Most unfortunately for the United States, just about half of the population believes every lie and distortion the media shovels unquestioningly.

Kamala Harris is an even bigger empty suit than Joe Biden.  She is a complete cipher, a clueless nonentity.  The media made her out to be an intellectual giant and based on the polls half the population believed this twaddle.

For more than four decades I have been a huge fan of the Science Fiction author Robert Heinlein.  There are three primary reasons why this is true.

Robert Heinlein wrote extremely imaginative stories, most often with very unique plotlines.  Over and over again I’ve read the description on the back cover of one of his novels and said to myself that can’t possibly work, only to be proved wrong after being thoroughly entertained.

Robert Heinlein was not an ordinary science fiction author.  He was one of the pioneers of science fiction.  All of his novels and short stories were infused with exceptionally accurate science.   Science was the mainstay of all his works.

Robert Heinlein was a Libertarian in the truest sense of the word.  I’m not talking about the pseudo-libertarian tripe peddled by the Libertarian Party.  In just about every novel or short story he championed individualism and vilified collectivism.  He was not heavy handed about his libertarianism in his works.  Most often one of the main characters served as a spokesman for libertarian beliefs.

If was extremely difficult for me to select just my ten favorite Heinlein novels, out of the 40 plus I read.  I enjoyed every single one, with the exception of those written after 1980.  Beginning in 1980 Robert Heinlein suffered a series of mini strokes. These strokes, as he put it himself in an interview, scrambled his brains.  The five novels written after 1980 of his that I read were all lousy.

During his career Robert Heinlein wrote 13 juvenile novels.  These are among his best works.  They are only juvenile in the sense that the main characters are high school aged.  He did not talk down to his target audience.  The science is not watered down at all.

10. Space Cadet:  I know you are skeptical of this one based on the title.  I was too.  It was a thoroughly enjoyable juvenile novel about a group of teens who attend a service academy for the space patrol

9. Sixth Column: This novel is about a war where the United States is invaded and conquered by communists.  The strategy used by a small band of rebels to gain victory is truly imaginative.

8. Between Planets:  The plotline of this juvenile novel is impossible to describe because it is such a unique story idea.

7. Red Planet:  This juvenile novel starts off as a simple story about human colonists on Mars.  It ends up being a story about a battle for independence

6. The Puppet Masters: This novel is all about individualism versus collectivism.  Amoeboid alien creatures take total control of human beings

5. The Star Beast:  This juvenile novel about a teenaged boy and his truly unique alien pet is a most enjoyable roller coaster ride with so many plot twists.

4. Have Space Suit Will Travel:  In this juvenile novel, the main character is obsessed with traveling to the moon.  He eventually gets there and travels far beyond.

3. Starship Troopers: The movie based on this novel got one thing right, a war between humans and alien bugs takes place.  In the novel Progressive policies destroyed every nation including the US. Veterans fixed things, they alone took responsibility.  Because of this only veterans were allowed to vote and hold office. Many claimed that Heinlein sold out to the military industrial complex when he wrote this.  That is most untrue.

2. Stranger in a Strange Land:  This is a philosophical treatise wrapped in a very unique and imaginative story.  With this novel Robert Heinlein proves that he is even more of a libertarian than I am, which is saying a lot.  He advocates for tearing down not only the state, but all societal norms such as monogamy and traditional Judeo-Christian values on sex.  The fact that I do not agree with everything he has to say here does not take away from my enjoyment of this novel.

1. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress: This novel is a libertarian and a science fiction masterpiece.  The moon is a penal colony controlled by an oppressive earth federation. With the help of a sentient computer the moon gains its independence.

As the devastation from Hurricane Helene is unveiled on TV and the internet, it is difficult to refrain from drawing parallels to the devastation unleashed by Hurricane Katrina.

The incredibly inept response to the devastation by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden bears a strong resemblance to the grossly incompetent response to the aftermath of Katrina by George W. Bush: People are Dying in Hurricane Helene’s Aftermath While Government Helicopters Remain Grounded (townhall.com)

As time marches on, the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and catastrophic damage is becoming increasingly clear. Stranded Americans still are not getting the help they need and the situation is dire.

According to Republican Congressman Michael Walz, a number of military helicopters that could be used to rescue people, in places where road access in the mountains of North Carolina has been cut off, have not been deployed by the Biden administration.

People are suffering and dying. All they are getting from the Biden regime are photo ops.

The damage across a number of southern states is being described as “Katrina level destruction,” in comparison to Hurricane Katrina — which destroyed New Orleans in 2005, caused billions of dollars in damage and thousands of deaths.

Hundreds of people are still missing while cell service and clean drinking water are still unavaible in a number of areas.

Is the lack of a meaningful response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene politically motivated: Was This the Reason for FEMA’s Tardy Response to North Carolina Hurricane Victims? (townhall.com)

President Biden told reporters there was nothing more that he could do for the people of Western North Carolina.

Reporter: “Do you have any words to the victims of the hurricane?”

Biden: “We’ve given everything that we have.”

Reporter “Are there any more resources the federal government could be giving them?”

Biden: “No.”

Five days later and many towns and cities have yet to see any disaster relief – relief, by the way, that’s paid for by the hardworking taxpayers in places like Western North Carolina.

The Democrats sent hundreds of millions of dollars to Ukraine. They tend to the needs of millions of illegals, but when Americans need help, nobody at FEMA answers the phone.

Why is that? Maybe it’s because that part of the country is filled with Republican voters. Who knows?

Not enough life saving supplies are reaching the devastated area because: Biden-Harris Used FEMA Disaster Funding For Illegal Immigrants (thefederalist.com)

The Biden-Harris administration took more than a billion tax dollars that had been allocated to the agency responsible for American disaster relief and used it to offer services for illegal immigrants.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) allocated nearly $364 million in the fiscal year 2023 and $650 million for the 2024 fiscal year to the “Shelter and Services Program” “to provide humanitarian services to noncitizen migrants following their release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS),” according to the government’s website.

Thanks to the Biden Regime, FEMA is now completely woke: FEMA Website Admits Keeping You Alive Isn’t Its Top Priority (thefederalist.com)

According to FEMA’s website, storm preparation doesn’t even rank among the top two priorities of the federal relief agency. FEMA’s stated goals include, first, instilling “equity as a foundation of emergency management,” and second, to “lead whole of community in climate resilience.” The goal to “promote and sustain a ready FEMA and prepared nation” ranks third under an administration obsessed with promoting identity politics at every level of the federal bureaucracy. When President Joe Biden was sworn into office, one of his first appointments was former White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice to lead the Domestic Policy Council. She was tasked with requiring agencies make “rooting out systemic racism” a focal point of their mission.

Having watched the debate but not the spin here is what I think.

JD. Vance clearly won the debate, his style and his answers and his constantly pushing on the “Harris had 3 1/2 years to do it” theme was big. I think his move at the end concerning censorship was a real haymaker that would have been a knockout if delivered earlier.

Despite this in the end I think the Harris campaign might have been helped more by this debate, because while Vance clearly dispelled the false image the media has tried to paint of him as some kind of radical nut which is bad for the left Walz was able to completely protect his image of a rural everyman which is the false image that the media has done all it can to preserve. His answer on misspeaking hurt him but in my opinion not enough to destroy that image.

I think protecting the false image of Walz is more important than losing the false image of Vance because nobody is voting for Donald Trump because they think JD Vance is a calming factor but I suspect more than a few people will justify a vote for Harris because they think Walz is sane.

If you judge on that basis Walz is the winner.

Update: Of course the fact that he skipped the spin room and Vance didn’t shows how much Vance dominated the debate. Walz might remain an everyman but it never looks good being a coward.
